Generally works right for me win8.1 but trying to convert to dvd the resault was a mpeg video file.also it uses about 80% cpu.Aditional i found that it installs two additional programs Xiph open codes and WebM project DirectShow Filters.I dont know if it is nessesery to do this.

Nel momento in cui richiedo il codice di licenza gratuita il programma mi dice che non c'è una connessione internet disponibile?!

After installation, My Format Converter can't be used at all! A page pops up, requesting license key to be entered. Clicking on “Requesting a free license key" get a page pops up:
"Currently no service available or internet connection is broken.

.."

Nach längerer Zeit wieder mal ein Engelmann-Produkt ausprobiert. Ergebnis wie immer: unübersichtlich, unausgereift. unbrauchbar. Die lernens nie.
Und dazu: Homepage sagt:
Convert DVR
Convert your TV recordings from DVR receivers (e.g.: dvr, dat, pvr and ts4) into compatible formats!

Kann man vielleicht, mit der GOTD-Version aber nicht. da muss man schon bei Engelmann das Feature dazu kaufen.

Naja, in 5 Jahren vielleicht wieder mal.

After trying several previous titles from Engelmann Media namely Videomizer 2, MovieSaver 4, Simply Good Pictures 4, I only remember myself using Simply Good Pictures 4 more than once, others are either slow or don't do what they claimed better than freeware alternatives.

Tried to convert some BMPs to JPG and every one was truncated. This software is hopeless!

this basic version is a stripped down version compared to other very capable free products - maybe the premium version could be interesting but this is bland useless and REALLY expensive* if you have to buy it (*as in there are better FREE products out there)

Downloaded and installed on W7 64 with no issues whatever.
Studied and scoured the program, after installation, for the 'Enhance Video' feature and the only option available is cropping of Vids. No enhancement.

Downloaded the FREE - TIME UNLIMITED version and it appears that you get the SAME software with the SAME feature but with the added OPTION of paying for the video/audo enhancement features.

Hmm. Good ol' Revo to the rescue.

It would be nice to be able to see a complete Spec listing before installing this. I could find no detailed information at the website. Which actual formats (full listing) does it convert from and to? (If all it converts are the ones listed in the very basic description at the website, then I have other programs to cover those.) Does anyone have this information, or know where I can find it online?

Thanks.

TerryI, Thanks! No OGG or FLAC. Thanks for stopping me wasting my time.

Sorry all, but that page does not show what Louis is looking for: " complete spec listing ". The free version can convert to wma and wmv, so the basic version can do video and audioconversions. There is no comparison list between the 3 versions on the developers site. It only states about the basic version "all output formats", but no DVR formats; no DVR Add-on (supporting mpeg/mpg, ts, mod, tod, vro, dvr, pvr, mts, m2ts, tp0 and trp). There must be hundreds of audio and videocontainers left , and this software will not support all of those.

Calimero, Thank you!

At least somebody heard what I was asking. (And that I had already looked at the products website.)

Ootje,

Thank you. Your images tell me that this is indeed a VERY basic converter. No need to bother with it.

It is very hard to image a company including ONLY JPG and BMP as the image formats you can convert to, and charging $35 for it.

As for the video and audio formats, I would recommend folks check out the FREE program SUPER.

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

For Image conversion folks can check out Pixillion Image Converter. There is a free version for home use.

http://www.nchsoftware.com/imageconverter/

And here is a list of all the mage formats that it can read and convert to. (This list will show you the types that require the paid version. It will also tell you if it can read AND write to a specific image format, or read only.)

An excellent free Image converter is XNConvert.

It can read around 500 different image formats. You can see which formats it can convert to by looking at the list available at its website.

Ootje, Pitty it's not in their spec... It all seems just so vague...
