Dang, I finally find a good piece of software, and it doesn't get registered correctly. the second piece of good software from GAOTD, and it only lets me run a trial. Pootieheads.

McAfee (Site Advisor) warns the following, so I won't even test it: When we tested this site we found links to 7art-screensavers.com, which we found to be a distributor of downloads some people consider adware, spyware or other unwanted programs.

A nice way to say be warned.

I personally love what GAOTD is doing. I have downloaded many of their programs and several of them I have found useful and MANY of the games are fun. It seems from a lot of the previous comments that many of these site users think that GAOTD is just for them and not anyone else. I'm sure once it gets more known and bigger, some of the other shareware programmers and unknowns will be putting different types of programs that everyone will find useful. In my opinion, GAOTD is a great idea and I'm 100% supportive of the project. Me, my kids, several of my family members and several of my friends have found more than one program we enjoy. Keep up the good work! For you whiners out there who are being given the opportunity to TRY software to see IF you like it and IF it's useful for you, stop complaining because one day there will be something you like and you'll feel like an idiot.

I am too late to download the free version of this program but I have been wanting to try this type of thing out.

To those who are hating, obviously you do not know how a web based business works, and they owe you nothing. Negative comments are only good when they are constructive, if you do not like this type of program wait for another. Their are plenty of others that do like it.

While installing it, it turned off windows' firewall (XP). Nothing asked permission to turn it off either - certainly doesn't give me a secure feeling that a program could do that *and* windows wouldn't at least ask me first. I only found out when the little "shield" icon came up in the task tray with a baloon telling me I wasn't protected by a firewall. Not cool. I turned it back on, no problem, but now I'm wary about even trying the program.

It's main function is a firewall not an anti-virus.
I have had it on my machines for over 5 years and never had a bit of trouble.
You obviously don't know what you're talking about.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Zone Alarm.
p.s. To others looking for a good anti-virus program.
I recommend AVG FROM Grisoft for my (free) anti-virus needs.
(You should have both an anti-virus program and a good firewall like Zone Alarm)

This is a great program is really cool! THANKS GOTD. For the 30 days ive been using WebcamMax on the trial version. It expired 2 days ago and liked it so much (you can do a lot more than you think you can do if your in the first hour of playing around with it-at least that was my experience a month ago)I was already to purchase it today, but the first place I go when I go online each day is this site GOTD. Its REALLY A GREAT PROGRAM IF YOUR INTO CAMS OR MAKING VIDEOS. I USE IT ALL THE TIME ON PALTALK AND GET TONS OF COMMENTS ABOUT MY CAM. THIS ONE DEFIANTLY A KEEPER FOLKS!

My first time commenting here . I've been coming to GOTD now for a little over a month. I wish I had discovered it sooner. I think what you are doing is great. My attitude is that I download what I want to try, and leave the rest behind. A few proggies I tried and uninstalled. I do a lot of graphics work, and a few weeks ago you offered Nature Illusion Studio. For me, it was like discovering gold. If it's the only one I ever download and keep, it made every visit here worth it. I will continue to come here every day to see what you have for us.

I also check out bladedthoth for his comments. I had planned to give this one a tryout, but decided against it because of it being a resource hog. I have 1400 mghz, with 512 ram, running on W2000 Pro. I figured why blow it out of the water.

As I've commented in the past, I'm grateful to the Game of the Day site and what they make available for us to *choose* whether or not to download.

I think I've downloaded most programs since I've joined (without incident,)except for games operated with keys, since I don't have great hand mobility - but then I don't expect the site team to cater to my needs.

It would be nice to have a few more puzzle games if it were possible though ;)

This is my first post on GAOTD. Basically, it's a nice site, even though I can't use (well, dislike) 95% of the offered software. But that's my problem.

To all those whiners and ranters: instead of whining and ranting please just post BETTER and/or FREE alternative programs.

#66, There is a difference between constructive criticism, and whining. For example - If GAoTD offered you a program that created Barney scenes for you, would you think it was the greatest thing offered? Didn't think so.

There is nothing useful that this program does other than alter your appearance on your webcam. (which is pretty useless) Sure, there are some people that like to use webcams, but in my opinion, webcams are one step closer to giving pedophiles an easier way to find you. (just my opinion)

All of you whining about whiners, not everyone likes the programs given away. I do appreciate what GAoTD does, and I thank them. People like #13 shouldn't even be allowed near a computer. Giveaway, How about a program to improve one's grammar and english skills? ;) See you tomorrow.

I emailed the company and in less than an hour I was up and running! Called my grand-kids and they loved it! Great support got me going! No complaints on my end! I even downloaded the full effects for free!

Why do people here think that GOTD is offering software. GOTD IS NOT OFFERING THE SOFTWARE AND THEY DON"T CHOOSE THE SOFTWARE THEMSELVES THEY DON"T HAVE A CHOICE!! It's the software authors who choose to giveaway their software.

GOTD is acting as a middle man. SO if we support their work and initiative then MAYBE JUST MAYBE some of the more popular authors would be willing to give away some of the better software! GOTD is just starting out and with time better software will be up for grabs!

If you are having problems with using WebcamMax on Windows Vista 32bit and you are using XP drivers to use your camera on Vista, be sure to right click on the desktop shortcut, select properties and click on the compatability tab. Be sure to check the box that says "Run as Adminstrator"

As for the program and reformating computer thing....I do keep track of the registry changes it makes and can always restore the entire or parts of the registry if I every reformat.

Thanks for such funny sw . For those who dislike it....... "Take it or Leave it"! Is great to share your comments about trying or using. If we only "complaint" without giving these sw a 'chance', I doubt other sw owners be willing to give their license away in future. So guys, please stop 'complaining'......go and buy yourself if you are "not happy" with the free sw today.

As for GOTD team, hope you can 'scan' it to make sure these free sw don't have spywares or malicious wares that will harm our pc and as well your reputation too.

to the person using zone alarm I recommend that you do not use it it has sopme pretty6 seedy stuff adware and spyware and others false positves it is a bloated soft ware. I recommned avast as a anti virus program

I try to keep my opinions as professional as I can and try to look at the application, even if it of no use to me, as if it were something I did want or could use. This one I personally won't use because I don't webcam much; However, my wife is loving it to death right now and that was worth it to me.

I also had the Spy Sweeper Message but there was no problem with the site.The problem is the lack of support for a program that does not seem to work. I checked the FORUM of the site and many people had the same problem, pc refused to recognize the driver. I checked my device manager and it said the driver was not installed. The program itself worked fine but, only on my screen. My grandkids would have loved the it!

I'm one of the few people who love what GOTD does. I think the service is great and the people who come here to complain are ungreatful. That said however I just went to the website for this software. A user having trouble with a purchased install after a working trial was advised almost immidiatly to wipe their hard drive and reinstall windows. That kind of makes me nervous . I mean if that's their first advice then I think GOTD needs to be proactive in watching peoples back. Click through to the website and see the furom. Guy has an install that crashes his system after he bought the software and they don't even try t help him past one suggestion before saying he needs to reformat his drive.

I trust GOTD and I would like to know that they are doing some dilligence on who's software they endorse before agreeing to put it up,

For the haters here .Go create another forum to suggest freeware alternatives. At least give GOTD support in giving you free software. The only valid negativity should be in issues where there is bad software. Not just complaints about how much you don;t need something.
