Did you previously have VSDC installed on your PC and did you have the Pro version activated?

Art, Same thing here, but when I open the program it says it is the Pro Edition already (v6.7.5.302). Although I did receive a activation key, I never entered it anywhere. It may be because I previously had an older Pro Edition.

Ed, please, consult the Readme file more attentively. It contains a link to the page with a form to fill in to receive a key.

VSDC team, Thank you very much. I have it installed it with the help of support. I was used to finding the key in the readme file that is usually included with giveaway downloads. Threw me for a loop plus wife was pressed for time for an appointment, so I was rushing to get the free giveaway. All good now. I will test and probably later upgrade to full subscription with updates. Reason being is the prompt response from VSDC support. I like that and find it rare these days.

Thanks for the suggestion, if only it was that easy. It would be easier if the software developers added the dll file while the VisualC+ was being moved during the install. This is some of what I tried over 3 days the last time I tried to install this companies software-

Download MFC140U.DLL if the Previous Method does not work

Download MFC140u.dll 32 bits
Download MFC140u.dll 64 bits
Once you have downloaded the file corresponding to your system type, the next thing you will have to do is go to the System32 folder located in the path C:\Windows\System32\. Finally copy the file in question into the folder. You can also try to paste the file in the SysWOW64 folder if the file is 32 bits.
If the latter does not work, the next step will be to copy the same library inside the folder of the program that is generating the error. To do this, you will right-click on the application icon. Then, click on “Open file location”.
Now you will only have to paste the file MFC140u.dll that you have previously downloaded.

Bubba Ray, Sorry my previous reply was for vscd team. Thank you for the dll download link I noticed it says there are 10 different files chose wisely. I feel like I'm having deajavo. Ill try installing the redist package first and fall back on your dll file. Thanks again.

VSDC Team, Installed the vcredistx86 and then tried run the vscd software and a different error code popped up for another totally different dll file that's missing.
I shut down my virtual system, rebooted and ran live.
reinstalled the vcredistx86 then rebooted my computer and then reinstalled the vsdc software and once again received the original mfc140.dll is missing error code. So your suggestion didn't work at all. But thanks for trying.
The problem seems to happen when the vcredistx86 2013 version is overlapped with your Microsoft visual c+ 2015 version during the beginning of the vscd install.
I went through all this several weeks ago and after a few days attempting to install your software was driving me crazy. Took a long break off computers. Reformatted and now the same errors are happening. I currently use gopro studio and windows movie maker and nether of these programs have this problem. After I get through these error codes another 4 more error codes will pop up one at a time, right up until I have tried to install all Microsoft updates and one of those error codes will lead me to telling me I need service pack 1 installed. Once I try and install service pack 1 an error will pop up saying my machine doesn't need it. Life's to short...
So I'm left to believe system requirements are not as suggested. Well at least I had a clean operating system for a few days that was error free. Time to system restore this mess away. Perhaps this lifetime key will work in the future when I purchase another computer with windows 10 or higher? 16 hours left to install this software before the giveaway is over is not enough time.

Dave, You'll have to install both 64bit and 32bit versions as some programs use the 32bit files, but try this first.

Microsoft provides several versions of c/c++ runtimes, which basically are collections of code that can be reused or shared across very many apps created using Microsoft's programming tools. The idea is that those apps don't have to include that code, making them smaller and easier to code. Like .NET and Direct X, the latest versions are backwards compatible, *to an extent*, so depending on the software you're trying to run, installing older versions may not be necessary. The c/c++ runtimes are usually installed to the Windows\ WinSxS folder -- one reason it's likely the largest folder on your system -- and most people will probably find that they have several copies of most versions of the runtimes in that folder using search. That's why some companies don't include them in their software installs. Some app installs do put them in other Windows folders, e.g. System32, or the program's folder itself, because those are the places Windows knows to look when it's searching for a needed file or files. Note that many of the runtimes have security-related updates available, so it's a good idea to check Windows Update after installing, even if you installed the latest download you could find. Google "c c++ runtime" [w/out quotes] for a ton of download links etc. An all-in-one installer is also available -- handy for new Windows installs -- that adds the latest versions [as of May, 2021] of all the runtimes:

Dave, make sure you download and install BOTH the 2015 (first) and 2019 (second) versions of the Visual C++ redistributable and install them. I recently discovered the hard way on a new computer that I needed both installed to fix issues with mfc140u.dll .

Now after reformatting I have the same errors and the software still wont launch. I have resolved the mfc140u.dll by Bubba Rays suggestion and placed it in the system32 folder (Thank you Bubba Ray) next I resolve was the vcruntime140.dll error by it needing to be placed in the windows folder, followed by the api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll error this dll needs to go into the dynamic link library. This is absolutely crazy I don't think its practical to download every dll file manually and place in every directory, I believe the developer needs to have these dll files ready and available whilst the software is being installed or state actual system requirements for instance Requirements all windows redist c+ updates, service pack 1 etc..., like every other software developer appears to do. This installation has become a pain staking task with no end. The first thing I was ever taught about computers was don't mess around will dll files.

The only question I have left is to VSDC Team, Can I please keep my activation key (it says its life time) and use that key in the late future when I purchase/upgrade my computer to a working operating system that's compatible with this software please?
