Tree Studio is a product born from TwistedBrush Pro Studio but with a focus on 2D tree creation with a simpler, streamlined interface. Internally the same great TwistedBrush brush engine is used, but with a single focus of making it easy to create trees of specific types. Tree Studio has pairs of brushes for each tree type. One for the frame and one for the leaves. The frame is algorithmically generated so it will be different each time. This allows you to create an endless variety of each tree type.

Hi, this Program takes me back to creating 'realistic looking' scenes in..CorelDraw4 (yes, 4!:) back in the second half of the 90-s and exporting these vector images to Corel Photo-Paint4 to obtain bitmaps ready for printing, framing (real frames:) and giving away to friends and family. Thing is there were no tree-trunks, twigs, leaves to our disposal in a handful of tiny presets there, but with artistic imagination and skill I was soon whizzing up trees out of over-stretched grapes, dinosaurs, cauliflowers that no one could tell the difference, so realistic they looked!:)..
Now you can see why I will always appreciate and welcome much more 'up to date' Programs (without mentioning many, many other I used in my artistic journey), such as Twisted Brush Tree Studio. So much ease and fun creating these trees and what's more (working with layers) 'planting' them into any image/photo by merging everything together.
Neat Software! Thanks.

Installation was easy as pie, and thanks to the reg key being in the README file, it registered in just a second! This looks like a fun program! I have been very impressed by the Twisted Brush programs in the past; this one, I'm sure, will be no exception! Thanks very much, GAOTD and Pixarra!

Installed it and it said it couldn't install license key,.. pasted it said it was invalid,.. and then couldn't find quite a few other paths. page 1 .cfg, page 1 .tbr, env file, etc I've tried 4 or 5 times. Win 8, 64 here. Too bad. Looked fun.

Okay- just tried it again installing to C:\TB Tree,.. and this time it worked
. It tried to install it to the Program Files (x 86) and just wouldn't work. Weird. But might help someone else.

Just got the download installed and registered. Opened it and had a quick test run. From what I am seeing it is an excellent program. I expected that it would be because I got Twisted Brush Pro a few weeks ago in a previous Giveaway form this site, and I like what it does also. Twisted Brush Tree Studio is as good as I expected it to be and more. In less than a minute i had my first tree completed.

As for improvements on the program, at this time I cannot think of any, but will likely have a few as I get to know the program. For now though, I am happy with it.

Thanks GAOTD and Pisarra Inc!

Easy to install, downloaded, extracted files to a folder, read the read me, installed, made a few trees, very neat program. Some how to's or a "Lets get started" tutorial would have been nice. Otherwise looks well developed.

Downloaded and installed(Windows 7 Pro). I like the fact that the serial is included in the readme file. Registered with no issues. I thought it worked well with some test photos. I do use various photo programs and now can doctor up any photo requiring trees and leaves much better than what I'm using now (by cloning flora & foliage). So, it's a keeper for me. Thanks!

Following my reply to comment #3, I have tried the programme and like it. As someone said, it is fun. Not an essential, not a basic, but a useful enhancement, for instance can be used with letter headings.
My one (serious) complaint: all instructions, options, etc. are in black on a dark grey background, almost impossible to read. The background should be white or very pale.

I recently got TB Tree Studio 1.13 from another giveaway site and think it's a very fun, helpful and powerful tool. I haven't had a lot of time for artwork for several years, but this program can wait on my hard drive until I get back to it. Until then I'm sure I'll fire it up once in a while just to have fun and learn more about it. Very easy to get started, lots of options to wander through. Results look great for a very small investment of time. I'm very impressed with everything I've seen from TwistedBrush. I recommend this one!

I was curious to try this as I'm interested in fractals and heard that realistic trees can be generated by fractal programs; whether this is one I still don't know!
It installed and activated easily on XP sp3; it isn't the newest version, which doesn't appear to support XP. Although the minimum requirements specify 4GB of RAM (8GB preferred), I didn't have any problems with only 2GB (it uses about 110MB of my RAM).
I didn't know how to begin as I couldn't find a help file anywhere, but then a small panel popped up directing me to http://www.screencast.com/t/F97uqeOnZ8 which has an invaluable getting started video.
I later found user guides to related products at http://help.pixarra.com; the link to the Gallery in the Help menu led to a dead page, but a search found it at http://www.pixarra.com/gallery_archive.html.
The way in which the trees, leaf cover, background etc can just be brushed in with a mouse is rather like using a magic wand: I can see that children would love it, and computer artists and garden designers would find it useful. Images can be imported and exported in a wide variety of formats.
The forum and gallery lead to a large number of contributors producing artwork and other additional resources.

Just had my first go with the program, and it's very intuitive to work with. The layout is brilliant as the layers are already named to match up with the names of the brushes indicating what brush goes where. I 'painted' an acacia tree which looked authentic, and probably the best tree I've done. I can see I'm going to have fun with this one.
Thanks GAOTD and Pixarra.

I have to amend my review. Something seems to wrong with programs ability to save to PSD files. Please comment if there's an answer to this problem.

Reply   |   Comment by Paul  –  5 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Paul, I'm sure there are free format conversion programs available that can convert your images to the Photoshop format. I don't get why you'd want top do that though, because Photoshop can load nearly any image format, and if I am not mistaken you can convert the image to the native format in Photoshop. If I am wrong (I do not have or want Photoshop), then it is not like most image editing software. Please inform me.

I find this idea to be outstanding! Yes, it's a niche thing but guess what, it has possibilities for all sorts of artistic endeavors. I can have multiple trees, twisted trees and use multiple leaf sets on the same tree. One can make psychedelic trees. Oops! I shouldn't have given that idea away. I like that it has layers (but i haven't seen a way to name new ones yet) and this program can save to multiple formats including PSD (Photoshop) files. A brilliant idea TwistedBrush!

Just one minor problem...no trace whatsoever of the program itself! OK...I know I have a throbbing migraine...but I've never been careless enough to loose a program on my PC before! Heeeelp!

Sorry to hear that you are suffering with a migraine. I know how bad they are, as I used to suffer from them until I discovered a simple solution. Now when I start to get one I just drink a pint of water with half a teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda stirred into it. I drink it as quickly as possible, and five minutes the pain is gone. Haven't had a migraine in over two and half years thanks to it.

Upon launching the program it required a feature called "Direct Play" of which I had never heard of before but not an issue as Windows just downloaded it and then it worked. It's actually a very cool little bit of software, it does what it says it does very easily and you end up with something original everytime. Thanks!

Downloaded and installed easily on Win 7, 64-bit. Registration was simple too, just copied the license from the readme file, open the software and pasted it at "File/Enter the license key".

With this software you can create various trees, especially with transparent background. The you can overlay those png files onto videos or images in a video editors/makers.

It's a keeper for me.

Today's giveaway has to be one of the most unusual and useless (to most users) piece of software. I used to visit this site daily, but over the past while the software being offered has been very poor. Not quite sure where this one sits.

Blackhat, it's FREE. You don't have to download anything from this site if it doesn't interest you. It must be such an ordeal wandering through life feeling so entitled that even free things annoy you.

Jeff, Lame comment, you've obviously missed the point of my comment ... To spell it out in simple terms that you might be able to grasp ... I stated that the overall quality of the giveaways isn't a good as it used to be. I never mentioned anything about being entitled to anything, don't know where you got that idea from. How can you justify making such a worthless comment?

Reply   |   Comment by Blackhat  –  5 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-25)

Blackhat,
Yes it's niche software but that doesn't mean it's not good quality specialist software.
Each unto their own as they say. No one is forcing you, or anyone, to download and install it.
Hopefully you'll be able to grasp that.
Have a nice day.

Blackhat, Your comment is deplorable. We have here (1) a genuine giveaway unlike all the recent loanaways (free trial for a one year or less licence), with good comments that (2) it works well and no bad ones, unlike all the crapware we have had recently, and (3) apparently easy to instal (one L is correct in English if not in American) unlike several that drive you up the wall with highly complicated installations, and all you do is complain! It is specialised perhaps, not for everyone, but so what? If we could only get a good quality, genuine giveaway, easy to instal programme each day, even specialised, nobody wants ALL of them, each will find something useful from time to time. Further, a few have said it IS useful, and I am going to try it, because if it is all they say it will be useful sometimes - I do not need to use it all the time.

Blackhat, First off what you offered was not an opinion, but more of a blat letting go at GOTD for programs they have offered, for free mind you, recently.
If you have issue with what GOTD is offering, instead of coming in here to the comments for the developer/program section, and yakking to us, why not take that frustration and yell at GOTD staff directly . Bottom of the page says contact, so do as I have in the past and comment to them.

Go for it, it is really fun, and could keep children busy on a rainy afternoon, learning all about existing trees - or inventing fantasy ones. Within minutes, they will be able to. Fully mastering palettes and layers might take longer though. I haven't completely understood it all yet.

You could also add realistic trees in the background of a photo to hide something you don't like. Just make sure you choose a tree that grows in the region!
