Why bother with video conversion programs? Just use ffmpeg. It's free. Most of these other programs are merely front-end interfaces that use ffmpeg themselves.

Crumby program. I tried several times to request free registration. After trying several times, I decided to use a different email address. So now it tells me that a request has been already been made from this IP address. I restarted my modem and computer which is supposed to establish a new IP address and I still get the same message. And still have not received an email from the first address that I used. What a hassel.

You can *try* the VPN built into the Opera browser -- that will work if no one else has already used the same server for this GOTD. You can also use the portable TOR browser the same way. Both I think are easier than setting up a VPN trial.

Tipard TS Converter 9.2.30. That seems interesting, TS files are made by Smart- Screens that can record programs on an external SSD.

Darren Miller, .TS files are generic streaming video files created by many applications, DVR's etc. usually they contain either MPEG2 or MPEG4 streams depending upon nature of media SD or HD/FHD. Most generic FFMPEG based converters will do all this does, including the free ones.

The most common source I'm aware of is Blu-ray video, stored as .m2ts files. They're almost always AVC/H.264, though mpg2 & Microsoft's VC-1 are also included in the Blu-ray spec. Most devices & software players can handle .m2ts as-is, though Blu-ray video files are normally pretty large [~25GB typically, they can be up to ~50GB]. One hassle is the video is often chopped up into several .m2ts files, some being fake, as an additional Blu-ray DRM -- once you've got the Blu-ray on disk, tsMuxeR can put them all in one file. Another hassle is the nature of the AVC video format used -- it doesn't use robust time stamps so it's Real easy to drop frames during conversion, repeatedly throwing audio out of sync.

TK, TK, I do have the impression that Tipard TS Converter 9.2.30 with those TS files that that Smart-Screen has made cannot do anything. In other words, those TS files made by that smart screen can only be played by that smart screen itself and are not converted by Tipart TS-Convertor. Because 'Failed to Load File' is visible. And, I am never a lover of Tipart.

Darren Miller, It is likely the Smart-Screens external SSD saved .TS files contain encrypted media to prevent misuse of the technology by exporting the media and filesharing or other copyright prohibited action.
