SmartWindows Support jumped right in after several questions appeared that to me shows quality, and that means I'll probably buy into this thing today it's to late for a freebie but when a support team answers right away I jump in if it's interesting enough, I mean how many other software makes answer questions I don't give a damn how dumb a question is answer it, you can even curse at me e.g hey dumb ass this is what you do at least it's an answer, I'm buying mine today.

I must have done something really wrong. I have no idea how to enter the product key. I can't find a place to enter it. I cannot even find a way to show the program on the desktop. I suppose I'll delete this program tomorrow when it's too late to enter the key and just chalk it up to a bad situation.
I would feel much better if it didn't sound like most of the comments are boiler plate from the company that makes this software.

It would be great if you can make this "portable" with the following capabilities:
⨀ Have the ability to save website and cloud storage passwords in encrypted form.
⨀ Be able to go to a similarly-configured machine, and run this from a USB thumb drive.
⨀ Give the option to use passwords or 2-factor authorization (through Microsoft, Google, etc.) when launching the program from the thumb drive.
⨀ So when plugging this into a hotel computer, for example, you can be logged into your web-based email and have your documents stored in the cloud opened up, according to your profile.

Yes, that is not supported. Only Apps reopening is supported. Resuming videos isn't teh feature. But MS Office, Wordpad, and notepad files will be opened.

If all someone needs are browser windows & tabs restoration at its next launch, simply use TaskMgr to END-TASK your browser (ignore any resulting popup, it will disappear momentarily). At the next browser launch, it will apologize for what it thinks was a previous crash & offer to restore all your prior browser windows & tabs. No extra s/w is needed if this is all you need to be restored at next use. I use this process at COB w/ Chrome & Firefox and expect it will work for the rest.

• Do you get updates with GAOTD software? Yes, usually. "Trial ware" software does not do that.
• Can you continue using the software after the license expires? Yes. With "trial ware" software, you cannot (legally) use the software after the trial expires.

Kurt, yes they are charging me money indirectly by making me install their software on my time table and if it does not work, I have to remove it now or after it expires, again on my time, in other words our time to interact with their software is money. There is no upgrade on any trialware software, where did you get that wrong info.

There have been quite a few programs that have allowed free updates. I made a list of some recent ones showing the date offered, the program name, version, the free updates statement, and the part of the URL that follows the GOTD domain name so that you can verify them for yourself. Acethinker seems to always offer free updates. Most programs are for one year, but some are for 6 months (but still free updates).

Remote desktop does not work, that is the feature I use everyday to work. Not good for some of us who depend on the remote desktop. Also, the profile created may be a security issue if the access is bypassed by the windows security.

The application installed with just one issue: i.e. it will not allow me to change the install path from the C: Program Files to another drive. I usually install my applications onto a drive dedicated to applications, leaving my C drive free of clutter.
Apart from the one gripe, the program works as described and I will be keeping it.

Just installed and using it.
It really help me. Every day i open 4-5 program for working at a time. Before it i must open one by one. Using SmartWindows i just need to create profile when my software opened and restore profile when i want to restore all software. and it feel great when it can remember every single tab on my chrome browser. The other things is, it can remember how my software positioned when i create profile. just like it.

I have to say this program does what it says it does. I use Chrome at work and have to go back into the history to restore all the tabs I was working with. That is something I will not have to do now that I am running this program. Once this program is installed, you create a profile in which you temporarily lose control of the computer. But this is a minor inconvenience since the program is running through all your open tabs, to "memorize" them so they can be easily restored the next time you sit down and run your profile. Again you do temporarily lose control of the computer while it restores all the open tabs once again. Now if you need the use of your computer, the program does pause and picks back up when your done. This is a program that does what it says. Thank you GOTD, you picked a winner.

Steven, I used to configure chrome to reopen all tabs from previous session. Now I do the same thing in Edge. Work done, close Edge. Next day, reopen Edge and all my tabs are there!! Same with chrome.

I am a blogger and Network Marketer and i mostly deal with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Power Point Designs.

What has Windows 10/11 POS Phone Operating System done to you all?
I'm flying along on old Intel twin-core computers, 2400 MHz and 4 GB RAM, with dozens of tabs, multiple windows, multiple programs, all open at once, all doing tons of stuff all at the same time.
Sorry, I don't get the supposed advantage of overbuilding just to try to get Windows 10/11 POS to do what Windows 7 does just fine.
Heck, I have a Windows XP computer ripping Video DVDs all day long, no problem.
What am I missing?
I guess if new computers only come with Windows 10/11 POS, the programmers see that as the customer base,

Installation was quite smooth.
There is a wizard that helps you to set up the right components to ensure your PC meet the requirements to use SmartWindows.
I tried setting up a test layout profile, and the process was quite smooth as well. I think this app is going to be very helpful for my workflow because I always have many windows of different applications open, all at the same time.

well, I don't like time-limited offers too, but I understand them: you get a LONG testing period, if the program is worth 20 bucks, you surely can buy it (for me it´s the price of one lunch in a restaurant), if it is not worth that money, it is not worth to use at all...
I like GODT for tools I use too rarely, so it is not worth for me to buy such sw - but in that case time-limited offers are not worth to try for me: effort with installation, learning the UI - and maybe not using it at all till "gotd lifespan" ends. In the case of more professional programs, which I need regularly, I don t install time-limited offers too, they are usually too expensive for me to buy them, when gotd license ends - in that case I prefer to look for some free (although less powerful and/or convenient) alternative...

Henry, I'm also not particularly interested in time-limited programs that you often see, but I have tested a lot just because they have a function that aroused my curiosity.
I have been working with computers since the late 70's and found some programs that have become faithful servants over the years and which are among the first that I install in a new computer.
Some that I found here and some that were mentioned in comments on sites like this.
Some examples of this are Launchy, Fences, Keepass, Vera Crypt, PrivaZer, Revo uninstaller etc.
I also bought some after testing a free version.
One program that I'm still looking for and that I once had under Windows3 was a small program that started when I started my computer and that worked in such a way that if you hovered over a compressed file that contained a text file, it's gone up a balloon with the contents of the test file.
A good way to quickly see what a compressed file with a cryptic name contained.
Still looking for such a program. (excuse my bad English, I'm Swedish)

Just the opposite, I have tons of browser tabs and browser windows open, multiple different browsers, ebook and music editing, independent batch download programs, background sync tasks across my network, photo editing, text editing, PDF editing, all going at once.
Reboot, and everything is immediately available on demand just as it was before, each program bringing up prior tasks when opened if I care, in 'recent items' and 'favorites' and 'bookmarks' if I decline.
So, no, I have no idea what some people depend on beyond the benefits of inbuilt features.
I'm OK, I'm happy, I'm busy, and I have no imagination what this program offers that I might need that I do not have already.
That's just me, I guess.
