According to item 1 in the license agreement this is an "Evaluation copy", valid for 90 days, after which you will need to purchase a valid license; or have I misread the meaning.

I went to the website and it says that the data can by synced to the cloud so it can be used as a portable program. However, without an Android or IOS compatible app, it is very limited as was pointed out earlier. Add IOS and Android support and it may be a keeper, but until then, it is not useful for me.

Only for Windows? No apps for mobile? The program must have synchronization with the base on the smartphone (which can also be used in the smartphone) - otherwise its portability is limited only to computers with Windows and in 2019, it is not very useful.

Dean Berglund, There is no known restriction on the same version license duration. The installer checks the giveaway date validaty in an installer embeded CompiledCode.bin file and if valid then applies the registry activation data.

Dimitrov, I believe the securesafe.key file is the file you created when you installed the program. The instructions are in the folder that was created when you installed the program. Look at the properties of your shortcut to find where this is.

Dimitrov, did you read the enclosed text file Portable-Version.txt and rename the executable accordingly? If you did not then it would continue to operate in "Installed" mode as it uses the files name to enable the portable mode switch.

"How to make SecureSafe Pro Portable
1. Copy the entire SecureSafe Pro folder to a USB flash drive or somewhere else where you plan to use it as a portable app.
2. Rename "SecureSafe.exe" to "SecureSafePortable.exe" OR create an empty text file in the same folder where SecureSafe.exe is located and rename the text file to "settings.conf" (all the settings for the portable version will be stored in the settings.conf file).
3. Make sure that "securesafe.key" file is also stored in the same folder where securesafe.exe is located. SecureSafe.key file contains the portable activation key for the program.
4. Launch SecureSafe.exe (or SecureSafePortable.exe) to start the app.

once it's been installed and the copy is made and instructions followed to create the portable edition seems to work ok here... was able to run the portable copy over a LAN share onto another machine that does NOT hold the registration data in the local registry yet on execution it reported it was the Pro edition and did not do the extended trial delay that happens if the program is run as a portable edition without first installing it...
Ah but turns out the license provided is not strictly portable as it is solely stored in the registry of the host machine so to use it portably you'd have to export the license registration key and values out to a reg file and merge it on any machine you plan to use it "portably" on... and either create a corresponding delete reg file to remove the license after you're finished on that machine...

krypteller, if you take the value in the ActivationCode registration key and copy it into a text file called "securesafe.key" and pop it into the portable programs folder it will use that and not look in the host machines registry.
