False claims?:
"PDF Impress 10 is an ultimate tool for PDF creation and manipulation. It provides multiple ways to create, convert, edit and sign Adobe PDF documents"

Text editing doesn't seem possible, so "ultimate" tool it clearly isn't. Others here seem to confirm it. To me it's not significantly better than PDFill PDF Tools (Free), which I have been using for quite some time.

Developers should be very careful not to overstate and potentially mislead about their product capabilities -even if it's unintentional- just works against them.
It's not just about being tech-saavy as programers/developers. You need to know how to sell and not alienate your target customer base.

When I try to install the software I get the message "failed to find data marker". I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have only one account (administrator) on my computer. I am using Kaspersky Internet Security.

Would not install on Win7x64 Ultimate laptop. When I click the setup, the GOTD Activation screen opens and says successfully activated, but the program is not installed. Please note that I did successfully install the program on Windows Vista desktop. Any suggestions how to load the program on Win 7?

I'm usually not one of those people who complain about the visual aspects of software, choosing to ignore it when I find the software useful, but the interface here is very distracting. I love my Android smartphone and my tablet, but when it comes to actually doing work, I go to my desktop computer, to avoid having to work around the Windows 8-ish childlike interface. At least, add a setting that allows text labels to be added to the menu icons.

That said, I think this is useful software. I'm not worried about the OCR aspect, as I have Acrobat and Nuance (which sometimes gives me a more accurate conversion than Acrobat), but for users without OCR software, that is a needed addition.

No problem to install and register it on Win 8.1.
On several occasions the print window did not come to the front of all other windows.
On the other hand, I have not find a simple way to indicate a default folder location for saving files.
Thanks.

Thanks to GOTD and BinaryNow for today's offer.

But I do have a question. After I ran the Setup.exe that includes Setup.gcd, connected and activated with no problems. The setup process seemed to go well, I was told that it successfuly installed and successfully activated PDF Impress and got a browser popup. But for some reason, there is NO desktop shortcut, and there is NO installation location in either Program Files or Program Files (x86) or anywhere on my PC. I could not find a way to launch PDF Impress.

I looked in the most common locations, but could not find the .exe to start it. But I did find a $(PackageCode).msi (134 MB) in C:\Users\YourNameGoesHere\AppData\Roaming\Downloaded Installations\PDF Impress. I also found these two setup files pdfimpress10_x64.msi (134 MB) and pdfimpress10_x86.msi (111 MB) located at C:\ProgramData\BinaryNow\PDFImpress 10\MSI.

I decided to try and run the Setup.exe again, get stuck at status and tells methe PDF Impress installed is telling me "PDF Impress 10 Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been modified...."

Would appreciate some advice or help on this matter. Thank you in advance.

An Embarrassing Update:

After I got of the phone with my wife, she told me since we do not have a printer, she has gone and disabled the Print Spooler Service. It seems if that service is not running, PDF Impress will not install. And it did not successfully installed the first two times, I had just clicked to fast to read the message. My apologies and thank you for this giveaway today.

It looks like something interrupted your install. My suggestion would be to go to control panel, uninstall any version of PDF Impress you have there. Restart systems and install again. Be sure that your are administrator to a local systems when you installing PDF Impress. If this does not help, send us email to support@binarynow.com

XP-Man is correct as this software fails to convert hyperlinks and that is an epic fail. Adobe Acrobat v9 cost less than PDF Impress and you can bet that most will choose the original developer of the PDF format.

I too have been searching for a good PDF to text program. I have successfully used a free online service to convert PDF to Word:

http://www.pdfonline.com/

While not perfect, it is much better than most of the others I tried.

You can open PDF in PDF Impress Tools and then Save it as TXT. Or simply select text and paste it out.

Try to redownalod to be sure that your download is not corrupted. If you still experience any problem contact us at suport@binarynow.com and include information about your operating systems. Since PDF Impress includes printer driver it has to be installed as administrator to a local system.

Installed and registered without any difficulty, opened up to a Windows 10 Lego brick type interface.

Tested it on a pretty difficult BBC News webpage, it didn't do that bad a job but the links had all been lost.
A bit of a disappointment as sending webpages in PDF format is much simpler to send than HTML.

Didn't think it had worked initially as when it claim to have finished nothing appeared in the folder, it hadn't finished, a few minutes later the PDF file appeared!

The quality not as good as my old Web2Pdf program used to produce before it stopped working.

Fortunately Ashraf from dotTech did a write-up, I really miss his comments, the link below will take you there.
http://sur.ly/o/dottech.org/95554%2Fwindows-review-binarynow-pdf-impress%2F/AA005599

Tested it his recommended PDF creator using the same webpage but had no success whatsoever.

Ashraf commented that the price was ridiculously high and I fully agree.

For the time being keep it as you seem to need an armoury of PDF manipulation programs as I have not found one that fulfilled all my needs.

Ashraf is still out there.

I get e-mail's from 'Shareware on Sale.'
Free and heavily discounted software.

I'm not sure how I got on his mailing list but the website is:

https://sharewareonsale.com/

'twould appear he is doing his own thing, so chances are you can trust his software, I have never had a problem.

As far as today's software goes, I've downloaded it but not yet installed, it sounds good though and I've been looking for something like this.

'Nuff said!

This review was about 2013 version. Meantime we released 2014 and now 10, so feature list and quality of the software is higher now. Also price for 3 user license dropped from $99.95 to $79.95 as a direct result of previous user feedback. Our suggestion would be to try PDF Impress 10 not form opinion based in 2 years old review.

Thanks for your reply; my test was on today's download and the failure to include the links in my test was a big disappointment.

Ashraf was as usual very fair, he did point out that you take notice of feedback which everyone appreciates.
Sadly software developers today are charging astronomical prices in many instances. Recently a piece of software that was most a days work, speaking as a developer myself, wanted $40 it wasn't fit to be freeware.

$25 for use on a single computer would be much better proposition in my opinion for your program.

Hardware prices are dropping to the extent that a few bits of software now can cost more than the machine. Maybe software developers are trying to make money while they can as so much work can be done with programs that are free within webpages.

I don't know if Shareware on Sale is still controlled by Asraf. The site went dark for a while and the new version has no mention of ownership that I can see.

Be careful.

So I load a PDF File, expecting ability to EDIT TEXT inside the PDF, but it doesn't allow that :( Uninstalled.

Reply   |   Comment by Yeremyah  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+47)

real editing inside the PDF is extremely rare, most programs just paste over an additional layer while pretending it's editing.

Reply   |   Comment by Corno  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+60)

I agree with Como. Most if not all PDF-handling titles are very sloppy in their confusing and inappropriate use of 'edit'.

What you may be able to is to place a text box over the text you wish to 'edit' and type the replacement text into it. If you give the text box an invisible (white) border, and match the text font, size, colour etc to the original, it *may* be possible to make the change not obvious.

But it's time-consuming and, frankly, not always satisfactory.

Reply   |   Comment by Steve J  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+45)

My search for a PDF editor also, like TK, began as I wanted to modify text and notes on downloaded PDF musical arrangements.
Trying various PDF editors, I was sometimes frustrated (couldn't edit original and aligning text boxes was never satisfactory). Other times, the process was too complicated (in editing the original, the editing boxes were overlaying each other, meaning the process was too complex and time consuming). I kept searching.
About two years ago, I found "Master PDF Editor" from Code Industry and I could not believe how suddenly, everything was easier. You can download the program for Win, Mac, Linux for free to test but you will have a watermark on the printed page. This allows you to get the hang of the program.
I have no association with Master PDF editor other than to use a program that most often fulfills my needs.
