Ondesoft is good. And AMusicSoft Spotify Music Converter is also good to use.

VERY IMPORTANT!

If you are experiencing random audio at the beginning of your rips, make sure that you have auto-play turned OFF! If you leave it on the software is likely to pick up a second or two of some other random track that is set to play next. It was super annoying, but I figured out that's what was causing it, so I figured I'd share.

If the repeat on Spotify is turned on, it keeps repeating the song in the file and never completes the conversion. I had file size of over a gig... kind of a bug!

It sure would be awesome if it didn't close Spotify when I close the music converter. Also, it did a great job of pulling the album art...just not any of the music. Now when I reopen the program it doesn't even recognize when I drag and drop music into it from Spotify. Garbage. Uninstalled.

Finally got it to work after a reinstall. Had to turn off my AV suite - was placing the Converter files into quarantine.

Did get it to work. Tried to download an album of 17 songs. It did 5 of the 17. The rest had a unknown problem error. There is a program called AllToMp3 that is freeware at the moment. It records all the songs from Spotify web player or Deezer web player. It doesn't get the artwork, though.

* TuneMobie Spotify Music Converter
* Ondesoft Spotify Music Converter
* Tunefab Spotify Music Converter
* NoteBurner Spotify Music Converter
* Sidify Spotify Music Converter

They are all the same software under different brands.
Why? Seems fishy if you ask me.

And the fact that 'Giveaway of the day' erased my comment over this.

Is it just me or does anyone else find this stinky?
I sense an even bigger disturbance in the force now.

Why not give a honest answer? No, we'll just delete your comment instead.

Suspicious User , there are two options, it's a rebranded version with original creator behind it (for example to increase the userbase for their products they may not be interested in anymore) or a rebrand to someone else based on royalities (a cut, which they need to give to the original creator based on sales amount for using their hood), Malwarebytes does this for example. The other reasons may be marginal but lots of companies do that "to stay fresh", whatever that means. Maybe we will never know for sure.

Reply   |   Comment by kui_  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Suspicious User , yes, it is sure a rotten feeling to have your comment erased. When it happens to me, I feel they have erased a part of me --- at least the (non-replaceable resource of) time that I have spend writing that comment. Yes, much more rotten also, they are who do such things.

But, since you know them all are any of them good?

Requires desktop Spotify, so what's the point of being able to input a link? For me, using the web player and copying the playlist link, it could view all of the songs, but couldn't convert unless I downloaded Spotify desktop player.

Slightly awkward registration process, which could have been written more slickly (replace email address with my_email!). Didn't inspire confidence. However, the program does seem to do the job. BUT you must have Spotify installed BEFORE installing this software - it will not work if you install Spotify later, as I did on my spare machine. You get the message "Please download and install Spotify at (sic) first". However, even uninstalling & reinstalling this package after installing Spotify causes problems. Shame. A bit more work needed on it, I think.

Anyone know whether using this program with a NON - Premium account will result in Spotify sending a "Warning" email and blocking that account - As was the case recently with people who were using other Spotify "Converters/Down-loaders"?

Only records the 1st 15 seconds of each track.

Reply   |   Comment by John Robertson  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

John Robertson, yep, when I wrote 4/5 seconds I ment 14/15 seconds, so the same effect here.
BTW, I have seen this behaviour a few times with TuneFab too.
I guess it has something to do with other processes running at the same time (bad programming?)

Installed and activated, I have a premium Spotify account for years but the installer decided to install Spotify again.
Dropped a playlist on the gui, clicked add & convert...
result: only the first 4/5 seconds of each song in the playlist as mp3 in the converted directory.
I have tested the Giveaway Tunefab Spotify Music Converter a few weeks ago and that one worked correctly (No ID3 taginfo though) so I was hoping this one would be better, but for now it's not working as advertised at all.

greetings, Nescio.

I did another test and changed the speed in Options Advanced from 5x to 1x and got the whole mp3 file.! It seems that when the response from Spotify isn't quick enough the converter thinks it's the end of the song and continues with the next song. maybe a simple buffer parameter change would fix the problem. (the 1x time conversion speed isn't very attractive)
greetings, Nescio.

It is possible to make a playlist manager for making and transferring a playlist between PC , Spotify , Deezer , etc ?

Reply   |   Comment by Tino V  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

.
[ Tino V ],

Yes, you can create and or point to a playlist within Spotify and then left-click-and-hold-and-drag the entire playlist over to the Spotify Music Converter Program to initiate downloading more than one song at a time.

Caveat -- I have had to stop and re-start such lists after each song because it got 'stuck', and if I exit the program, the list is lost, so I had to continuously revisit the computer and screen to 'push' it to continue to download each song from the list, it would not get an complete list overnight while I slept, for example, instead, stuck after the first song, waiting for me to push it to the next song -- someone at Spotify has figured out how to interrupt continuous download recording.

----------

Alternatively, Audials seems able to continuously record ... and intelligently split songs apart -- wow ... even combining multiple song parts over time into one song -- wow ... eliminating fades and voice-overs and advertisements -- wow ... and do it from multiple sources at once -- wow.

First things first, this is a rebrand of TuneMobi and TuneFab, both came with a 1 year license. TuneFab has been given away here last month, TuneMobi in February. Since it's not mentioned, i would guess it's a 1 year license too.

As with the other tools, you need to have Spotify installed on your PC, it won't work without it.

How this works is you install Spotify and this program, then run Spotify Music Converter, if you run it without Spotify installed, it will do so automatically. Once you run the program, it will start Spotify along with it, activate it online and drag&drop a song, playlist, album, artist, track etc. from Spotify into the Drag&Drop area from Spotify Music Converter, then you make your selection or deselection, click Add, edit the tag or name and click Convert. That's basically it. Does what it says.

Pros
- Simple drag&drop
- Conversion of songs, playlists, albums, artists, tracks
- Individual songs (ability to drag and convert a random song you've never seen before on Spotify)
- Fast conversion
- Changes to conversion speed and audio quality possible
- Original ID3 tags and metadata is being kept

Cons
- Lower quality if free Spotify account is used, that is normal but there is no way to keep the current bitrate because it doesn't default to that, free is 96/160kbps, there is no need to convert into something higher than that, since it only makes the file bigger but doesn't sound any better
- Possible ads injected into random songs, which may require proof-listening afterwards, if you use a free Spotify account

Here is some more background info in regard to quality

You can absolutely tell a difference up to 192kbps.

Reply   |   Comment by JoeSchmoe  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

JoeSchmoe, if the music is downloaded and converted with 160kbps free premium account and you convert it to something higher, it's still a 160kbps audio with more data attached to it. At best, it may sound worse due to audio needing to fit a higher footprint. So you can not tell the difference there, that's what i'm talking about, if you can, then you must have sensoric ears.

Reply   |   Comment by kui_  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

kui_, free Premium account, ok, just free i meant. :D Maybe i didn't explain it properly, or take another case, if it's lossless or more efficient audio format, a higher bitrate like with mp3 conversion may preserve the audio quality better than using the same one. But in general, it doesn't make sense to use a higher bitrate, if both are lossy in output, it's twice the degradation. The only difference you can tell then is that one is less noisy and clear than the other and it consumed more space on the hard disk.

Reply   |   Comment by kui_  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

JoeSchmoe, you misunderstood what he meant... Only if the file was created at 192kbs will it sound better than one created at 128kbs. There is zero benefit in converting from a low bitrate to a higher bitrate once the original file was compressed into mp3 format. It won't make the sound any better.
