Sorry to see so many negative comments about this software and MSTech, personally I like this software and the others I have received from MSTech from GOTD. Find them all to be handy little progs.

Seems fairly basic. I have been using Paint.net(https://www.getpaint.net/) for so many years, free, continually being worked on improved, a gem of a program for any basic photo editing

Problems Found:
1) A new document with text added, then saved in each of the formats causes a full black image (no white background with black text). If this is a Layer Properties issue, the default Properties should start with the same as what is displayed to the user.

2) Regardless of whether any editing has been made, the program always asks the user if they wish to save the Project. This happens if a previous project file is opened, then closed without making any changes, or even if no document has been initiated at all (cannot be implied new document when the program starts as it will ask the user to create a new document to use the features that add layers (e.g., "Add Text", "Add Image"). Regardless, if no changes have been made, it should not ask the user if they want to save the project file. Don't put the responsibility on the user, keep track of it in the software.

3) Check for update opens an error dialog that states: Can not connect to the server. Please Check your internet connection.

Usually, when this error occurs, the first response from users is that they are obviously connected to the Internet or they wouldn't be able to download files or make comments. The real reason this error occurs is that the Windows system is blocking the connection, such as in the Firewall. Typically, the Firewall allows user-made exceptions. Programs such as web browsers automatically become system exceptions (via Registry) or they would get the same error when first starting.

The real problem is in the message displayed to the user; it implies to users that they have a problem on their end, however, the problem is that the software does not properly identify itself as a program that needs to communicate with a remote server so that the System/Firewall will allow the communication. Generally, the firewall will list the programs that can be added to the exception list. In this programs' case, the program is not even listed in the list of programs that can be exceptions in the Windows Firewall. Running the program as an administrator works the same, and should not be a requirement to run a graphics editor anyway. MSTech needs to resolve this feature before the user can check for updates.

4) As others pointed out, the F1 help should not go to a non-existent page on the developer's website, and preferably should be a local help file instead.

5) Also, the missing templates should have been made available even for version 1.0. To MS Tech, this is your first chance to make a good impression with a new program. Sometimes you continue to flounder for several generations of version numbers. Let's hope you do not do the same with this program.

The idea of the program is a good one, but it has a long way to go before competing with even free alternatives. We will have to wait and see how it evolves.

Message to MS Tech: This is a good time to start using a Changelog file with dates of updates and what has changed. This has been asked for of your company several times before. You have some negative comments on this introduction of a good idea, so you are already being unimpressive to some. Please join in doing what good software developers have been doing all along.

To whom which may need a deeper review of MSTech Paint Pro,
I downloaded, installed, and activated it smoothly, just follow the instruction on the readme file and you will be fine.
To start, I have to say it's an interesting and handy software. I recommend it to everybody. It's a user-friendly app, it can be easily used to design so many graphic files. Also, I recommend MSTech to add some more drawing tools and shapes, effects, etc.. which makes this software to become one of the best in the market.
I've used several of their products, and they could make me one of their users. The thing about MSTech that amuses me is that they care about their users' comments. Their support is fantastic. Also their constant and regular updates with new features and options to improve their product and give the users the best experience possible. This software is the first version and based on my experience with MSTech, we will see more features and updates in close future for this software, and based on my experience they will give you important updates even they say no free updates for giveaway version so don't lose it.
All in all, it means it's a thumbs up for me.

Have you noticed that ONLY the support comments have the positive feedback and NOT the users? And the super high positive rating? This is a clear case of TROLL BOTTING ILLEGAL TRICKSTERY from the developers and to share my previous experiences I had really BAD problems using their software damaging Windows like phantom folders, added invisible shortcuts to the startup folder which led to errors, invalid registry data, etc. I would say, STAY AWAY as far as possible from this company and their good-for-nothing-but-trouble software...! I am sure I will get down voted by their bots to just prove my point.

Hi Man dRB, they are in the market since 2014 and also their product is also checked by the anti viruses which means it's clean.

Just take a look at the reply from their support on comments #7 and #8, which they have received 6 and 4 dislikes. Interesting. the question of the comment is "Did you find this comment useful? yes | no". They are giving the software page link and also a tip to use the software. You think it most have 6 dislikes???!!!

I recommend you to install the software, then you will find out where the negative comments are coming from.

It's free dude!

Dear Man dRB,
Thanks for your comment.
But first of all, there is no invisible shortcut for none of our products. Also for your information, when you run any setup file, it will write some registry entries to check the installation process on your system which is normal.
Plus, all products from all developers are checked before promoting on GOTD by their tech team, if there were any issues, the promotion would be stopped, postponed, or even canceled.
There is something strange for us as well, which our comments get downvoted if you check them you will see that they are useful.
If you are a pro computer user, you know the things you wrote is not accurate. Our products are checked and reviewed by several valid, professional, and reliable resources such as "Softpedia" so for those who are looking for a technical review of our products can check the link below:

Says, "the ability to import and modify SVG images." It will NOT load svg files, Nor will it save as one.

Dear Bruce E Clark,
You can click "Add Image" and load SVG files to your design. In this version you can modify the SVG colors, more tools will be released in our upcoming updates.

Bruce E Clark,
>"It will NOT load svg files, Nor will it save as one"

To use SVG files, you need to use the option "Add Image" (the icon at the end of the row that starts with "New." When you due the "Add Image" feature, you must have a starter file to add it to (can be a blank new file or one that already has layers).

In all fairness, there is no claim that the program can or will save anything as an SVG file, merely that they can be added as one of the layers. If you don't go beyond adding an SVG file to a new starter file, it can be saved as one of the common file formats the program supports (jpg, bmp, png, if, or its native format mstpaint). In that sense, the program can convert an svg file to one of these formats.

I was also hoping the program could save as an SVG file, however, I do understand that would mean if there are multiple layers, the program would need to compress all layers into one layer before converting that one layer into a vector so it could save as an SVG file. If any original layer was a vector (from an imported SVG file), the program would have to render it as a rasterized image first. If it could accomplish that feat, then it would need to convert that final single layer to a vector, then it would be able to save as an SVG file. Probably why that is not supported is that it is easier to render an SVG file than it is to convert an image to a vector format (a necessary step for this wishlist item).

I will not complain too much; after all, this is version 1.0.

Of course I could download direct from your website. However the point is that the link is supposed to arrive from GOTD for the free day's giveaway, not for me to seek out a version which will no doubt come bundled with other goodies.
Given comments supplied by those who have managed to download it, I'll pass anyway.

Mary Johnson,
I couldnt download the file either. That page is a request for a free trial. How do I get the giveawayoftheday file so it is not a free trial/lifetime no updates?
MStech Paint Pro 1.0 is not one of the software on the Download Center page either.
