...just for laughs, I downloaded a 'trial' copy of Kvisoft's FlipBook Pro - got the same 23% Stall issue when trying to publish - used my 'kludgey solution' and, it published! Is anyone else getting the feeling that Version 3.6.3 is not ready for 'PrimeTime'? ...at least not on an XP machine!!!!

Well, I'll tell you now, HERE is a VALID reason to DUMP this program right now. The mediocre templates that are furnished within the startup program are just not worth keeping this software package.

...there is one additional step that I forget / neglected to mention, because it is so stupid and kludgey, in my previous 'solution' post to the 23% Stall issue. In order to get the: Published Successfully
What to do next? Email - Show HTML - View it - Open output folder
Close - you need a copy of Process Explorer (free) from Sysinternals (www.sysinternals.com) I overlaid this screen on the Kvisoft screen to see what Flipbook.exe was 'doing' and the 'Processing, please wait' dialog box overlaid the ProExp screen. When I did this it published - Yes, you have to move the ProExp screen over and back to click 'Start' on the Kvisoft screen - if you miss you must use the cancel / delete the file from Flipbook Output folder and republish approach mentioned in my previous post.
Do what you want with this information - it does work! I know: Pathetic!!!

...for those 'poor souls' still reading these comments - a possible solution for the 23% stall issue. Which I have experienced!!! Kvisoft creates a file but no HTML when you click publish HTML and the 'progress bar' stalls at 23% > click cancel and go to the folder (Output Folder) that contains the Kvisoft file but no HTML output > click delete > click publish again. Once it took two tries / deletes, but primarily, it has worked on the first delete / republish for me. OS: XP Pro SP3, IE8, Flash / Shockwave Object 11+. NOTE: This worked for me - Good Luck!

There are also a log files that contains these 'failures' and this is what the Kvisoft 'Support' Team should be soliciting and looking at from people who have had this issue.

Oh, click Design>Advanced Settings>Button Settings>Uncheck Zoom Bar - This is the answer to my a previous question I had...

Yes, you can publish output book to your website.
Please publish as HTML by our software. Then upload the whold output folder to web sever, after you can view your book online.

I want to congratulate GOTD and Kavisoft on their offering of this fantastic software.
It makes a change to have software where the details you can register are within the wrapper and not have to go through so many email hoops.

Registered ok. Tried out on a few photos, some photos hung and I could not be bothered to wait, so tried others which appeared immediately. Have not had a chance to investigate why some photos take longer than others yet or if this is an issue.

Could not see how to create a cover and back page or to add text and edit it. Scrolled down to see an add music button , though have not tried that yet.

The website says that resources are included in this offering , but did not make clear that the extra "free" resources you can download, will not instal unless it is the "registered" , presumably the pro version.

Initially the flash result after opening the containing folder appeared on only part of screen with the navigation buttons missing from view and would not drag up wards. However when I reopened from the saved folder , the result was beautiful.

I would prefer to able to save the output , to where I want it , not under documents and settings. Have not seen if this is somewhere possible.

I look forward to trying with holiday photos and despite some negative comments on GAOTD, I would say it makes a change to have a software that registers ok, is really useful and despite a few glitches , which may be a learning experience, it has a thumbs up from me.

Today's GOTD is a very nice software.

I tried Kvisoft Flipbook Maker on a bunch of VladStudio wallpaper images (jpeg's), and easily made them into a single EXE, which renders as a beautiful magazine-like flipbook.

I would think Kvisoft Flipbook Maker is excellent to be used with holiday and party photos, for sharing with family and friends. It feels like a nice viewing alternative to the usual Flickr and Facebook uploads. I too request for ppt and pptx import support to be added in a future version of Kvisoft Flipbook Maker.

I haven't tried importing other formats apart from images, as I prefer the fantastic freeware Martview, which is perfect for viewing PDFs as full-screen flippable magazine-like spreads, which look awesome on a HD screen:

Talking of ebooks, the best ebook software for a Windows PC, is Calibre, which is open-source and free, and works well with EPUB and MOBI formats.

Most ebook software don't have proper compatibility or rendering support for fancy PDFs.

Well as usual I can't believe all the people who can't seem to install and operate this software. -- I installed on Win7-64...the install and registration went perfect as always....I downloaded, installed, registered, AND made a sample flip book all in less than 10 min. and it all went perfectly...imagine that.

In the PUBLISH phase program hangs on
23% when creating HTML
6% when creating EXE
21% when creating ZIP
23% when creating APP
Many users seem to be having this problem.
Tried on 2 desktops and my laptop same result.
XP3 SP2 SP3 mix and .NET 4
Seems to be registered OK even before the repair released.
Looks like some routine is invoked at these points which is missing on my setup causing the hang. Requires Flash player 9 or later according to the website. Not sure of my status here but think this is only for the player.
Really like the software. Can we have a fix or a rerun at some point?

Do you mean that you can not enter registration information or after register, there's demo logo?
Please use information on readme.txt to register.

Is everyone adding photos one at a time? I thought it might accept a complete file but when I tried a trial book, I had to add photos one at a time.

I love the software and searched it in google last time, but it seems that I'm late for the giveaway, that's a pity.

Like many other people that have responded, I've found that the Publish step hangs at 23% for HTML output (Win XP SP3). It's been a very long time since I last installed GOTD software that didn't work.

W7 ultimate 64 bit sys,, installed and registered no problems. Tried it out on a PDF file 56 pages. set as an EXE.. worked fast.. no problem

Installed, registered and appeared to run OK under the XP HOME computer's administrator-privileged account (though a conversion has not yet been tried).

However, when checking to see if this title needed to have the registration info entered again when running in ordinary non-admin user accounts (as often happens), Kvisoft Flipbook Maker would not launch.

Instead, Windows created an error report as follows:

AppName: flipbookmaker.exe AppVer: 3.6.3.0 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.5781 Offset: 00012afb

(There was a lot more to the generated error report that Windows was offering to send back to Microsoft, but apparently due to the content it will not paste and appear properly in this comment -- sorry!)

This condition persisted despite restarting the computer.

Perhaps this can help the developers to debug their software.

Sorry.. to add music, it's under style,click on advanced settings
and sound option will come up.

Installed and activated without problems on Win7 (64-bit). Created a flipbook with a 33-page pdf, turned out very well with added music and website links. To add music, see options on the left side under language.

I downloaded and registered the program, but am unable to get the resource package to install, even using the instructions at the top of the GAOTD page. Says I need a full version.

No problem installing on WIN 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Published 3 pdfs, each one stalled out on publish but finally achieved an HTML success.

Tried to create a ZIP of one, kept stalling out so I just quit it, not worth the time.

Tried an exe and that published quickly.

I'm testing for an 80 year old who wants to do something fancy with wedding pictures of a family member. He's already having problems. Will probably suggest he stick with PagePlus' PDF output.

Hi. Installation and registration went smoothly, and the program is wonderfully simple to use. Thank you! My only question is regarding the Resources package. I clicked the link, went to the web page, download the .exe, tried to install it, but got the message: "The resources package is only valid for Kvisoft FlipBook Maker full version, please register it first". Does this mean that the GOTD version is not the full version and we cannot have access to the reources package? Or is there something else we must do to install the additional resources? I'd be grateful for your assistance. Thank you.

Downloaded and installed easily on my Win 7 64 bit computer. Registration seemed to go well, however unsure if it's really registered or not. Reason being is the following:

Downloaded the resource package. Each time I try to install the package it stops and says it's only for the Full Version.

According to the program information I've registered it correctly.


Is this not the FULL Version or is it simply still bugged and not registering properly?

I figured out the problem with it stalling at 23% for publishing html..

I didn't let the adding image step finish before moving on two the design step and the publish step. There is no progress popup window for the first step or a mechanism to prevent moving to the second step before the first step is complete.

The program works nicely and produce a great result. Thanks for a useful program.

I always get very frustrated when I have to upgrade or reset my system as I lose all the brilliant GiveAwayOftheDay offers I download. This "Kvisoft Flipbook Maker" is so good and, with the GAOTD discount, very well priced - so I bought it straight away!

By the way: Even at its regular price this is a well-priced item of software - many others are very much more expensive!

Without reading the instructions I immediately imported a PowerPoint presentation and it worked immediately. Cannot see anywhere that this is supposed to work but it does. Absolutely brill! Thanks so much GAOTD!

Doesn´t work! Only get "access violation" error when satrting the program. Will not run. Fix gotdrepair.zip didn´t change anything. Still getting access violation error under Win7 HP 32bit.

I got the program from giveaway of the day and when I try to register it, it won't do it. Just has the buy now option available. I want to install the extra backgrounds, etc. and it says that's only for programs that are registered. HELP!!

Eight times lucky, now registered. Somehow didn't expect it to ask for its own email, though it's nice it does.

Tried for more than 2 hours, this program cannot be registered, despite the so-called repair 'solution' offered by Kvisoft. I am waiting for Kvisoft and GAOTD team to offer a real good alternative of this program, on the site or better by email.

We cannot consider the soft provider as a serious company if we get here, even for free, such trial versions.

Also I am wondering about the real level of competencies of the GAOTD team. This is not the first time when we find a BS instead of a fine working program.

Finally succeeded in 'publishing' a flip-book (html) from a downloaded walkie-talkie user-manual (pages are mixed-format - some landscape, some portrait) - although the original PDF could be enlarged to read the landscape pages, the flip-book showed fatal loss of resolution to the point of pixelation with any magnification. Probably will work fine, albeit very slow, with portrait-format-only PDF's (possibly including anime/graphic novels) but definitely is NOT recommended for the all-too-common detail-intensive sales brochures or mis-formatted owners manuals (that are un-readable enough when available in PDF form) that marketroids LOVE to inflict on customers/clients/etc. in flip-book form... Not so much a problem with with the software as it is with the mis-use of same by marketing types >;-> My recommendations:

Kvisoft; Try and speed up the publishing process or at least add a 'throbber' to give the user an indication that the program is still working - and adding an option to convert portrait-format pages to 'fold-outs' (as Zinio does with digital versions of magazines that have fold-outs in the hard-copy form) would be nice... (and a big thank you for all the work to help people trying the giveaway and for the giveaway itself!

I added a 4 mb swf file and its not publishing shit. It's gets stuck at html: 23% Exe: 13% Zip: 9% and App: 23%

I downloaded the program, registered and ran a 39 page PDF sample file with no problem. I published both an HTML and EXE version and both seemed to work just fine.

In the toolbar under Help, there is a selection that states "Download Resources" which takes you to the file FLIPBOOK RESOURCES. The webpages states that is is extra templates & themes for a registered version of KVISoft FlipBook Maker (it makes no mention of the 'Pro' version)

Why does this file NOT work with the version we have just downloaded and registered?

Repeatedly crashes the program at 23%. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
23% again. Downloaded again. fresh install. Tried using one 78k photo. crashes 23% again. This Beta needs a little work before its put up for sale (or giveaway).

Installation went well at long last, though only I had turned off Outpost Security Suite (because otherwise I got a pop-up that the setup file was corrupt). When tested the program got not generate an .exe output file, bur HTML went fine. I like this kind of problem and Kvisoft seems to be great name in this field. When I copied an HTML file and opened it on a laptop the bottom part of the pages disappeared from display while at the top there was stll quite some space above the pages. Could not manage the pages upward, which was annoying, but perhaps I have to play a bit with the settings. Otherwise OK, could even use the links found in the PDF in the output HTML file.

Very slow (takes 'forever' to get past 6% (exe), 21% (zip), or 23% (html)) seems like a bit like playing the 'fruit machines' - a few win and most have problems registering or, if it does register correctly, getting it to 'publish' the flippin' flip-book >;->

emailed customer support, just waiting for reply now, but still cant publish.

I tried to register this for two hours. Now that my family is thoroughly mad at me for missing the movies..I have to go.

The Resources Package (TEMPLATES)says it can only be working with Full Version.
Are there any workaround that we should know?

Some thoughts on today's giveaway - The software is very good at what it does, converting a PDF to SWF. It also allows you to enter flash videos as well as images and other SWF files; however, it does not have the capability to convert PowerPoint to SWF. The output is actually quite good and Kvisoft offers additional design tools that can be downloaded.

I am, however, left wondering why I would want to convert PDF to SWF? As we all know the days of flash are numbered and the PDF format is actually more widely accepted - tablets, phones, computers. It would be far more useful to create the flipbook as HTML 5 rather than flash.

I emailed you the information you requested over 3 hours ago. I've also uninstalled (3rd time) and reinstalled as administrator. (BTW...despite uninstalling using a program that supposedly deletes a products registry entries - for some reason each re-install is picking up the old registry information and registration information). I am STILL receiving the 0000008C error message and when trying to add the resource pkg, receiving the error message that I need to have a full product installed. I must admit - I started this at 10:30am and it's now 7:50pm - and I'm getting more than a little fed up with trying to make this software WORK.
