This is my first time posting in the forum and I hope what I'm about to do is o.k. If not please let me know. I found this site " http://www.kongregate.com " they have over 3500 free ware games available everyday. Might help those who feel they need the next new game fix when ones not available here :)

Murphyslawqt, welcome to the forums! We love links! Looks like a fun site. Don't be afraid to point us directly to your favorite games. Then we can compare notes. Thanks! :)

Hi,
Thank you for the link. I'll be checking it out in a matter of minutes, lol; and welcome to the forums Murphyslawqt. :)Posted 16 years ago # -
Appleseed, here... never had a chance to explore Murph's Kongregate site, but when I saw a hyperlink to a particular game on that site in an article, an atypically spontaneous click took me to an entertaining timesuck, reminiscent of the painful bloody pointy game called SHIFT that Mr.Fishy found last week.
So, follow the bouncy ball: Amberial. Note - The harsh "music" can easily be silenced.Posted 16 years ago # -
RM, you've been spreading your seeds all over the place today! It's funny you should bring this topic/thread up. I wanted to post some games yesterday but was waiting to hear back from a "certain admin" as to where I should put it. This thread looks as good as anyplace.
This game is similar in length to this Cute free game--never-ending-level, only this one ends. This is a point and click game and if you lose your 3 lives you have to start back at the beginning.
The Impossible Quiz. Click where is says "PLAY THIS GAME!"
From the creator:
"See how many questions you can answer before it's Game Over. Sounds simple? Think again... the questions are * hard and require obscure insane logic, super fast reactions or just pure luck to answer correctly.""It's not actually impossible though, just really really hard. GOOD LUCK! Mwahahah!"

Hey Murphy.....nice to meet you, thanks for joining us. I just came across Kongregate the other day....great games.
Here's another thread you might like regarding a game we've been playing/sharing and the link to the game is Never Ending Level Game Hope you like it.....but a warning.....it can be frustrating. Enjoy! and Welcome to the loony bin....errrr, oops....I mean the forums!
----edit-----
Oops, just saw that you posted the NEL game too Maizey....sorry!Posted 16 years ago # -
hey guys- here is a game that is similar to the nel game. you do have to register, but i think it's worth it(still free). it's a little more creative than nel. maybe creative isn't the right word, how about complex. you sometimes need to do things in order to get the answer. your game is saved, so you don't have to start over or leave your browser open indefinitely. also they tell you how many people gave any given answer, which is kind of fun.
anyway, check it out:

Funky......tried it but it's not working right now :(
Murphy....I just realized I never gave you the link to the other thread, it's here:

Sorry about that.Posted 16 years ago # -
Buckleysmom, did you try the impossible quiz game yet? I got up to level 56 before I blew up the last time.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Maizey....I got to level 41 and quit for the time being. I think I like this one better the NEL game except for the fact that you can't save. Cool game.

I played a couple of short point and click adventure games yesterday. The animations and graphics in these games are fantastic and the goals are very strange. I can't even explain how cool these two games are!
The first one is, Samorost 1, where you help the main character prevent a collision between his planet and another.
The second game is the sequel, Samorost 2. In this one you must rescue your characters puppy from dognapping aliens.

Maizey, had I not forgotten to turn off the PC before watching MiamiCSI, I might have missed your link... took me about 20 minutes to solve Samarost 1, steering weird asteroid #2 away from #1. That's the closest thing to a chapter of Myst I've played in some time. Even a couple of sound effects sounded the same. Looking forward to playing Samarost 2 later this week. Most enjoyable find. Cheers.

oh.....so you like samarost? here are games of that ilk:
this one is pretty easy, you have to answer general education questions, but it is worth it for the graphics:
questionautand the sequel:
spread it's wingsbluetea's 6 cool samarost style games
bluetea's even more samarost style games>/a>
these should keep you busy for a while.
i haven't played all of these, not my favorite type of game (although, i do love the graphics), but i have played a few.
enjoy!

ehmmm...hate to say it but I've been playing Silkwood. Had to see if it worked after all the bashing on download day. talk about mindless "entertainment?" (:{~
Posted 16 years ago # -
funky, thanks for all of the casual game links! I started playing "gwen" a few weeks ago and forgot about it. Going to have to try it again. And I just bookmarked "Quest for the Rest" yesterday. These should keep me busy for awhile!
--------------------
RM, glad you liked Samarost. Hopefully, the games that funky found will be just as interesting.Posted 16 years ago # -
I found the Samorost games while perusing the Myst forums when Myst Online went offline -- again. If you like Samorost, you wiill also like Wogger http://www.woggerworld.com/inside/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=41&Itemid=60 .This page also has a link to a free version
You may also like Esklavos http://www.esklavos.net/home/ , another flash game with quirky graphics, but more like a traditional adventure game. The first chapter is Spanish only, but easy to play; and the rest are English and Spanish.
These flash games from pastel stories are in a class of their own. The submachine series is most famous (not a submachine gun -- no violence). Links are thumbnailed on the right of the page. http://www.pastelstories.com/
I alsmost killed my Elder in Silkwood. He was sleeping when i opened the game 'cause I am a shift worker and I'm up at night. I did not think he could pick berries at night so I let him sleep till daylight. The help section says that his room stays at a constant temperature; so, I wasn't worried about his energy level, even though his stomach wasn't all that full. Well, his energy level dropped anyway and he almost caught hypothermia. So, I spent all day yesterday nursing him back to health. He was low on energy but had to pick berries to get food to raise his energy level. Fortunately, watching TV also raises his energy level (weird!) So, I had him on mini-cycles of work, eat, watch TV, which I had to tend manually because the schedular doesn't factor in fractions of hours. Guess the guy doesn't get any union mandated coffee breaks, unless you put them in yourself.

Hi, JoanRC. Thanks for the new game links. I didn't realize there were so many games of this genre. Should be able to stave off boredom for quite awhile! :)
It seems that caring for your Elder is rather time consuming. I didn't download this one because it sounded too much like the Tamagotchis that kids play with. I remember how upset my stepdaughter was the day she forgot hers at her grandmothers. She actually cried and begged me to drive 13 miles (26 round trip) to retrieve it so that it wouldn't die. Finally, she called her grandmother to give detailed instructions on it's maintenance. What an ordeal! That's the reason I didn't DL Silkwood! I'm glad you're enjoying it! Very funny about the TV thing. :D

Maizey....Yes I've been checking out the PnC games too, loved Samarost. I've also been playing the one JoanRC mentioned, Wogger.
I've seen reference to 118 levels so it's a lot bigger than Samarost.I agree with you about Silkwood....I have enough work to, enough mouths to feed, and eniugh bodies to take care of and try to keep healthy.....don't need to add any "virtual" ones to the list :)
Funky n Joan....I'll have to go check out your lists too....thanks for sharing.
Ya know......I haven't even missed not having a daily GGOTD......but don't tell Bubby I said that.

Thanks to all. With the departure of Netflix until the first snows, these oddities will have to do. I lack the patience for protracted care & maintenance of elders or pet rocks. Reminds me of a rather boring game I got via this site - Mad Magic with its complex plot: Oaf keeps getting thirsty whilst pounding on leprechaun.
Funky, did you find the name "wheat straw girl" somewhere or do you read the language? BTW- The mean old house ate her!! Polyphonic's Quest was too easy, but the animated setting made me feel like I was in my backyard. Last year's cattails are still waving in the breeze. Cardinals and doves are doing their courtship thang. Looking forward to the ferns emerging. Oh, great, now yardwork beckons. Ornamental grasses need shearing. Thanks a heap.

i did not translate, i got a lot of these games from nordinho.net.
submachine is an awesome series of games.
i didn't download silkwood for the same reasons. i have enough to take care of between my 3year old and myself!
:DPosted 16 years ago # -
Ah, yes, nordinho. Methinks I heard a seedsman talking about that site the last time he staggered through my village. When it comes to digging through the large quarries for a rare gem, better you than me, Funky.
After you've done sifting through the nordinho pile, I see Yahoo's touting their own list of new free games. Please find me something quick, easy and FUNKY FUN.

i just re-found this game.
as i recall, it was a good one.Posted 16 years ago # -
Gee, I've had no problems in Silkwood! Here's how I've set it up (better late than never, I guess!) My Elder did nearly freeze to death, so I moved him to Phoenix Arizona! I have him set for sleep from 11-5am, then he eats and exercises (one block each). At first I had him picking berries til 1, eat, pick some more, then at 7 eat, 8 TV, 9 read, and 10 TV, and off to bed again. When his mood drops, You can cycle reading/TV and it will go up fast - switch to TV. When he's settled on the bed, go to reading. When he's got the book up, back to TV. Doesn't even need time to do either, just pop him back and forth and keep checking his mood on the Status board. I did have a hard time getting him to go for the shovel, and he can't shovel more than 3 hours or he will starve, but I only check him once or twice a day! Hope this helps anyone who is still trying to give it a go!
