How did you get the MAC installer to work with Catalina??

Peter Emola, Hi...extracted zip -it contained 4 files - double clicked on the Setup_Mac.app.
That opened the on line registration dialogue box, clicked the internet button which opened the web page.
Entered my email address and password (I've used other products before).
Hit the send button.
Received the email with details.
Entered the user ID and serial number.
Hit the Register button and the install started.
Was was presented with the usual finder window with the FOCUS projects 4.app and user manual. Dragged the FOCUS projects 4.app to Applications and followed the prompts.
Selected the FOCUS projects 4.app
Had to enter the serial number again
The app launched and I started using it. :):)

Ken Shiro, Hey :) Maybe when you copied and pasted the reg number you included a space after it. Pasting it in worked for me.

Correct, Ken Shiro, your ID and the program LICENSE are used to install the program, and when the program starts, it wants the LICENSE again.

Yes, they make us dance, we get our own ID, and each program get's a license, we use ID and license to install, and license to run first time, an unprecedented routine.

Do you use a Photoshop routine from some web tips-and-trick site to stack?

To [ Joseph ], try again, you may have v3 in your installation directories already from a previous offer, and you are clicking on that, this is v4.

AFPhantom2, You can increase the UI elements like text by locating the app itself in Program Files > Franzis > FOCUS Project 4 and then right-click on the app and click on properties. Under the compatibility tab click on Change High DPI settings. Check the first box and then in the drop-down select "I open this program" and then check Override and highlight "System". OK it. Close the program and reopen it and everything will be larger.

Run the installer, click "Internet" button and get re-directed to the online page.
Fill in your email first and then your password for Franzis account if you already have one
or you'll be required to create one. Click the blue button "Request registration code".

After this, you'll receive your USER-ID and personal registration code to your registered email address.

Please paste both values within the registration form of the software and confirm your input by hitting the "OK" button.

Run the program and use the registration code from the letter as the serial number to activate
the program.

Yeah, software companies have absolutely no idea what to do with all the real estate we have on our screens nowadays.

Gideon Meiry, High definition display does have a problem with older software including a lot of office type programs.
This works for me on all these programs. Go to properties, then compatability, at the bottom click on change settings for all users (or High DPI settings). High DPI scaling override, in dropdown change from application to system
click the tick box.

Thanks, this indeed works (just tested with the software offered here). But, when the program opens under these settings, its interface looks very old and the whole look of it is blurry.
It appears that computer screens, being developed into higher resolutions, leave two options for older programs. (1) their developers will update them to properly fit newer evolving screens resolutions, or, (2) they will be abandoned by users.

I've tried several fixes and could bring FRANZIS products to finally display a readable menu. But this comes with a trade off - the program interface looks blurry. After all, I’m not a graphic professional who needs such tools for daily work. I download such tools to keep for occasions when I wonder whether a figure I’m using could be tweaked to look better. So such a tool is not a must for me and I can search for other tools.
This however makes me wonder from a commercial perspective, why FRANZIS do not bother to update their tools? Graphic designers would probably use the best screens available. They are also the type of persons who pays for professional tools. If a company like FRANZIS doesn’t keep its tools up-to-date in terms of compatibility with ever-evolving hardware, how do they expect to be competitive in the market of graphic designing tools?

Yeah, BETWEEN programs,

... something that we all CAN do if we want to see a program on screen that ain't smart about using our full display screen the way we prefer.

Yes, we can toggle all of our display screen settings to make us happy, there are about 7 different places to adjust the
- shape and size of our screen dimensions,
- resolution,
- fonts size,
- menu size,
- and some other stuff depending on happy-talk between disparate programmers.

One would think that after 40+ years of PC development, programmers would have automated this by now.

But noooooo, we end users are still the ones who have to do all this stuff manually.

Yeah, manually.

Because Franzis programmers are toooooooo lazy to incorporate a "... hmm, let's look at the shape and size of the screen we are landing on, and adjust accordingly ..." internal utility.

To their credit, Franzis DOES have a menu size control ... BUT all the other items within the program stay so tiny and low contrast that I cannot for the life of me resolve their contents no matter what I do.

Hence the need ( need ? ) to toggle screen resolution between programs ... and font size ... and fonts choices ... and menu sizes ... and who knows what else?

C'mon, Franzis, you are PHOTOGRAPHY software, and photographers have BIG, HIGH RESOLUTIONS screens.

So, Franzis, will you address this in v5?

... it's your customer number at Franzis, and you'll use it over and over with every different Franzis screen-toy, as well as when signing in to the mother ship and retrieving codes over the years.

Franzis integrates a specific customer number with a specific software edition license registration number for each edition of Franzis software.

Too bad they can't integrate their different software offerings with each other so they all appear under one integrated program screen as we add more Franzis products, allowing us to use them together on our pictures on one session.

It's like buying Photoshop a piece at a time, but never being able to put all the pieces together.
