Fact: this program totally has deleted with all leftovers the "Session Planner GODT PRO giveaway edition". All other (for example, Soft Organizer) only has deleted as a file exe or as a whole folder. Soft Organizer did not delete everything. But only this program really has deleted all needed files and ends and roofs which were in other files and folders in the system.

At the moment my personal rating is high. Will stay it in the system and will use it.

Thanks to developers and giveawayiftheday for that.

I have ioBit's Uninstaller from the March 26th GOTD offer installed. DoYourData Uninstaller's interface looks very similar to ioBit's Uninstaller so I decided to see how close they are next to each other. They are similar but still different in several ways.

ioBit showed 395 programs installed but DYD showed only 393 (not sure which two are missing from the list). ioBit has additional choices on the left side, such as Bundleware, Logged Programs, Recently Installed, Large Programs, and Infrequently Used. ioBit also has a built-in install monitor and software updater that shows which programs have updates from their suppliers.

I like that DYD shows the name of the developer/company under the name of the installed program entries. ioBit does not. Both programs have a search feature that lists entries that have the characters entered into the search box. I used the search feature for "uninstaller," which listed only DYD Uninstaller and ioBit Uninstaller.

ioBit shows the Install date of programs but DYD does not. DYD shows the version of the programs installed (if it is available) but ioBit does not. Both show the size of installed programs (if they are large enough), but I noticed that sometimes they show different values for the same programs. For example, DYD shows that ioBit's Uninstall is 73 MB but ioBit shows it is 95.77 MB. ioBit shows DYD uninstaller is 46.15 MB but DYD shows it is 46.08 MB. Some programs are so small the size is not listed. For example, ioBit does not list a size for Summer Properties 1.2 and lists Steam as my largest program at 10.21 GB. DYD also lists Steam as 10.21 GB, but lists Summer Properties as 25.88 GB (apparently my biggest program).

ioBit can sort on any column (name, size, install date). DYD Uninstaller can sort on the name and size.

To see if DYD leaves any leftovers, the only things I tried uninstalling were Open Source programs, which are bad examples since they don't try to hide things from users anyway. In all cases, if any leftovers were found, the user is given a chance to delete them. After the delete, there were no leftovers that I could find.

For an uninstaller, DYD seems to do a good job of removing the entire program, including leftovers.

You can purchase an ioBit's Uninstaller license for as little as $4.95 per year, but you can get DYD Pro lifetime updates license for $14.99, which "could be" the better deal in the long run if a good uninstaller is what you are looking for.

After installing I get a brief flash on the screen (saying please wait) and then nothing. It doesn't show up in task manager. I tried a reinstall but that didn't fix the opening/use of the program.

I tried a number of times - it seem to install successfully but then would not open. If I tried reinstalling it then I was told it was already installed and would I like to first uninstall before (re)installing. I did all this a number of times but it would never open to run so I could never enter the serial number. It looks like a good program from various comments, but it wouldn't work for me on a fully patched Windows 10 system. I wrote to 24/7 tech support 3.5 hours ago but no response.

To everybody, who is unpleased by a given downloaded program.
READ, pls, the conditions of being here, on this forum.
All programs must be downloaded "as are and as given", according to conditions of the site.
Why so many blaming and evil to developers and working people, here on the giveawayoftheday's pages?
If you dislike this program you free to go away from here and do not take.
But you have no right to humiliate developers and their program "for nothing".
Have a little respect to people who are working here and for you and read, pls, condition before to do scandals.
All unfair scandalists have to be taken away from here.
Do not give them programs. May buy, if they dislike being here and have for free.

Esther IT,
And who, or what, gives you the right to come and criticize people's position on this site?
We TEST their free softwares and give them FEEDBACK ...for FREE and in return, they give us a crippled software or ask us to engage in some raffle draw? Do you know how many systems have been crippled, in the process of testing these free softwares?
Do we complain over that or are we reimbursed for that?
I have been on GAOTD for twelve years and these shenanigans just started a few years back.
Like somebody said: What is the point of giving away a software that does no justice, by way of improvement on already existing, FREE softwares of the same category?

And please, your English has broken my screen, who do you think should pay for it? (lol)

Reply   |   Comment by Dan  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-15)

Esther IT, Much of the idea of GOTD is to also critique programs. If there are free or better programs out there, there is no reason to not critique the giveaway version. This gives its developers feedback on what to fix or not fix and make better moving forward. In forums, many developers appreciate the feedback be it good or bad. It gives them a roadmap moving forward.
No one is doing any scandals.

Esther IT, do you run Win10?
Hence, that OS was given for free for Win7 users as an upgrade. You never complain about the bugs that is still around? For a long time, that OS was a Beta. What do you do with the bugs you find as an "IT", nothing? Because you had it for free? That can be a slap in the face for Microsoft and they love feedback!

Other example and search for it. Rockstar's GTA 5, where a user found a loading time bug. Guess what? Thanks to his feedback, he collected 10.000 USD from Rockstar to solve a problem that exists for over 6 years! Now think first, before you shout for the Devs. Instead, report the issues.

Have a nice weekend and problem free.

Esther IT, You are right, Esther IT! All these quarrelsome guys have done our being at the forum very nervous and unpleasant. Sometimes, I do not want to come here and to write my opinion of view about any program from that reason. Many of them can only abuse and shut the mouths of other people up. You are right these guys: Dan and DJ and others like them, are real quarrelsome guys and scandal-makers. They only offend the other with their unfair posts, dislike and make scandals here.
So, respect and like for your post.

Esther IT: That really is a silly post. To describe as "evil" someone such as myself who merely said that a paid-for product like this ($14.99) needs to offer more than freeware to justify its price, not to mention the effort of downloading and installing, is hysteria re-defined.

Reply   |   Comment by Peter Wilkinson  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Esther IT, I may not share 100% of your opinion, but everybody has the right on an opinion. However, I support very much your statement about languages. Who speaks or writes English or any other language being not his/her language merits respect, rather than blaming this or that language flaw. I don't understand people speaking English as their native language (mostly incapable to speak anything else) but always snubbing those speaking on a foreign language. They should rather be ashamed because of their limits, rather than pointing the finger to small mistakes of polyglot people. English is also not my native language, only one of the four ones I fluently speak. Welcome in the EU: there polyglots are very appreciated! :-)

I reimaged a computer and installed the free version of this software. I'd used this previously without issue. I was able to simply use the Serial number included in the download files "readme" and upgraded to Pro version. For me I'm not concerned with alternative programs as this seems to work for me and it is "free" for today at least. However, it's always good to have choices.

I had DoYourData Uninstaller Pro v5.4.
Looked at the update option and the program was about to update to v5.5 FREE so came on here to update tho 5.5 Pro version.

Having run the Pro version, looking in the list of installed programs it shows Doyourdata 5.5 FREE but no entry for doyourdata pro.

Confusing!
Anyone else getting that?

Will now logoff, reboot and try again. If any different will report on here.

Downloads the FREE version of the program not the PRO version. There is no "register this software" option in the menu's. According to their website the only difference between the FREE and PRO versions seem to be that the FREE vesion is limited to 1 year use of all featyres, not a lifetime license. Very disappointing.

TK, Thanks, that worked. I thought I'd already tried that and it took me to the website to purchase a license, but in my frustration I was mistaken. A wee clarification in the readme.txt file would be most helpful for dense neanderthals like me -;)

Paid-for (commercial) software needs to demonstrate that it offers more than freeware alternatives so as to justify its price.

I sampled this DoYour Data (strange name?) uninstaller earlier this year from GOTD but found it offered nothing for its retail price that existing freeware doesn't already offer.

There's a range of alternatives out there, the pick of which -- in my personal experience-- has long been 'Soft Organizer' (a case where the name doesn't help at all: if you didn't know it was an uninstaller, you'd probably never try it.)

I actually prefer Soft Organizer to Revo Uninstaller PRO, which I bought a few years ago.

Thanks GOTD for today's DYD offer but the hassle of time-limited extended trial software isn't worth it when hassle free, no-cost alternatives exist.

Reply   |   Comment by Peter Wilkinson  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+49)

Peter Wilkinson, It's not 'time-limited'. i agree about 'Soft Organiser', but its GAOTD is just the same as 'DoYourData Uninstaller - lifetime licence with no updates.

Reply   |   Comment by Stewart  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

Peter Wilkinson, This is not a time-limited product, but a free lifetime, No hassle offer, so I am confused about what you are not liking about this offer? I also use Soft Organizer, but this is a great alternative for anyone that does not have an uninstaller.

Reply   |   Comment by AFPhantom2  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

AFPhantom: Mea culpa; I was confused by the mention of a price tag for today's give-away in the text on this page, plus the reference to time-limited, which of course refers to the actual 24 hour GAOTD offer period.

That aside, today's software IS commercial; the developer is even on here offering a discount of 50% off.

My point remains exactly as before: commercial software if it's to be worth any asking price at all must be superior to freeware alternatives.

Conclusion: whether free or paid-for, DoYourData uninstaller offers nothing which Soft Organizer (amongst others) doesn't already offer, hence why I see no reason to use it (I downloaded and installed it earlier this year when it was last given away).

The developer needs to decide if it's marketing a freeware or commercial product. If the former, no need for things like today's 50% offbuy-a-license-now promotion.

Reply   |   Comment by Peter Wi9lkinson  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

AFPhantom2, In actuality, yes it is a time limited product. It will work great while you have it, but when it's time is up to move on to a newer improved version, it cannot.
As he explained, he gave Do Your Data a run and compared it to software out there that is free to use...ie you don't have to pay for updates. To get Do Your Data updated, as with most GOTD programs, you have to pay for them.
Saying that, yes this is a good alternative if they have no uninstaller and thank you GOTD for offering software for us to try and critique.
