For persons who are interested to know this info:
this program has a function to remember (or save) the way to data of restoring files. Magoshare doesn't have, for example, such function. When your computer suddenly will switch off during recovery process you have lost your results and all restoring files. It will be needed to begin everything from the beginning. This program has such function of restoring process.

The energy was switching off during the recovering process. But with the help of this program, I was continuing to process without problems. When I was recovering files with Magoshare and there was the same situation. And I had to begin from the beginning and was waiting 19 hours again for monitoring system and files by the program.
I have restored the big part of files by this program which were not restored by Magoshare.

I am thankful to developers and giveawayoftheday.com for program, which has helped to me very much.

Installed and activated on XP (as stated on program home page but not here!) easily. The interface is minimalist, Windows 10 style, with little in the way of options. Despite being a fairly large program, with a 160MB folder on the "C" drive, it opened swiftly and ran smoothly, showing all drives present, even on this old machine. Running a scan on a 16GB flash drive took about half an hour; no files were found, but as the drive had been over-written by a test program this is not significant.

BAW30s, did the activate GUI Activate button function for you? others, including me, find it impossible to activate it and had to test it as a restricted unregisterd trial!

Even the uninstaller is BUILT WRONG! It launches a browser window claiming:

"Uninstall Successful

You have successfully removed Donemax Data Recovery for Windows from your computer. Contact us if you have any question: support@donemax.com"

When the uninstaller window is still sitting there ASKING me if I really want to completely remove Donemax Data Recovery Trial 1.0 and all of its components.... and the browser launched a window over the top claiming the uninstall had already happened and was succesful.

Ordering procedures in a program and uninstaller is completely fundimental to making programs that WORK as expected and intended! If the flow of procedures is done in a haphazard way all sorts of bugs WILL result, like activation button not become usable or being told an uninstall succeded when it had not really happened yet and is in fact WAITING FOR USER INPUT!

TK, almost EVERY software will leave behind traces of itself in the registry after a regular uninstall. To fix that problem, I've been using a program from Resplendent called "Registrar Registry Manager" for years and years. It is free for home use, and very easy to use. It's shocking to see literally dozens of program shards left behind in the registry even after a program's own "uninstall." Registrar Registry Manager is the perfect cure. (And, no -- I'm just a user, not involved in any way with them.)

Not ready for public release and should be still in private Alpha testing phase... Certainly NOT version 1.0 worthy. Activation wizard interface does NOT WORK the Activate button never becomes activated so one cannot submit the license key to activate it. The Disk Repair tools are just calling the built in Disk Managment MMC snap in in a sperate window and even worse the Disk Repair tool itself just spawn an instance of CHKDSK forced to make changes to the target disk and unlink the volume if files are still in use. It will likely crash any program forced to be unlinked from the files it is access and open files that had been partially written may become corrupted. And CHKDSK /F is renowned for deleting files that were still usable due to flaws in the file systems records for those files and making the drive that may have been bootable but faulty to become unbootable. USE WITH CAUTION!!!
There apears to be no facility to create USB bootable media to recover data from a single drive unbootable windows system... or recover data from a windows system partion without booting it as the mere act of booting a windows system partion writes megabytes of data to that partition and potentially overwrites lost data that could otherwise have been recovered but not any more! And no facility to both create an image of drive to have data recoverered from the image file and not have to rely upon the orignal physical media that may still be being written to or be failing.
Seems this developer has not taken the chance to learn from the plethora of other paid for and free data recovery tools that have gone before and is just making it's own silly mistakes as if the idea of Data recovery was a new concept of technolgy and had to be re-invented... as well as using already exisitng free but flawed Microsoft tools as if they are functions of this developers ingenuity... as well as pirating FFMPEG binaries by redistributing them and plagerising their functionality in a closed source product against the GPLv3 licence they were made accessible to other opensource devlopers but NOT to closed source devlopers to dsitribute and use and not give credit to FFMPEG project and without providing a copy of the license and access to the specific source code used to build the binaries they are distributing illegally.

Installed per GOTD instructions. When attempting to register, the code is inserted but it's impossible to hit the "Activate" button. No problem putting the code in, but cannot register.
Installation went perfectly, as well, but not being able to activate renders the software useless.
Please advise.
Thank you.

I was tested this program during this month (it was taken from another place), because had an attack during which have being deleted data from one disk. Donemax Data Recovery 1.0 helped much, but I can say that not all data was restored. Nearly 30% was lost and 70% was restored. But it is better than nothing :) But it is one of the best I tried. It restores a lot of formats. Especial videos, photos, PDS, pdf, doc, docx and many others. The program scanned disk 1, 6 TB 18 hours (it is much quicker than some others). I think it is a good beginning for the program.

Also, I used Magoshare for restoring data and this program is also very good and helpful and with quick analyses.
So like to this program and thanks to authors and giveawayoftheday for giving it.

I have a 64GB memory card that cannot be recovered since it says it is read only. Which way forward to make it read only so that it can recover the data and useable ?

Reply   |   Comment by Andries Barnard  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-5)

Andries Barnard, you'd need to confirm the FLASH memory media is still readable by the memory cards controller by examining the size reported when the raw cards drive is read into a sector viewer editor like the Tools menu option in Hxd.exe whith Hxd.exe running as an administrator. If no data sectors are accessible it will never be recoverable using a generic software solution like this as either the controller or FLASH media is damaged and the firmware is unable to access the memory to supply it to the host computer.
In such a scenario lab recovery *might* be possible but would rarely be worth the cost of the gamble.

Caroline, It's NOT that kind of recovery program, same as password recovery programs will NOT recover lost data.

Caroline, TrueCrypts only key vulnerability was once a truecrypt volume was already open the cached key stored in private memory was readable under certain very specific circumstances. Other than that as I have read it OFFLINE TrueCrypt volumes are not vulnerable to key recovery tools of any kind and the only remaining option is a custom built brute force recovery utility to try through the trillions of possible keys and cipher combinations to try and make sense of the encrypted data. This is the problem with strong data encryption that provides no back door... you lose the key, you lose the encrypted data. Strong Encryption should only be used when it is really necesary and data self destruction is factored into the system disaster recovery protocols.
Sorry it's probably not what YOU want to read but to a security concious archivist of top secret clasified data it is the whole point of truely strong encryption like TrueCrypt and its descendants.

James, there is no need to brute force a windows login password using any cracking software if you OWN the device, have physical access and can tollerate the loss of saved secrets in windows protected storage as you can find several windows account password removal utilities, some free, some paid for and some as sub-functions of other programs.
Obviously this is of no value if the device belongs to someone else as they will know of the illicit access by their password is no longer being asked for and all their system saved logins no longer work and need to be re-entered manually.

Caroline, further to my other comments... Assuming there is real quantifiable value to the currently lost data in the TrueCrypt volume file... On the page http://www.tateu.net/software/ there is a TrueCrypt subsection and a GUI based bruteforcer OTFBrutusGUI_v0.2.0.3_beta.7z or OTFBrutusGUI_v0.2.0.4_beta.7z for TrueCrypt volumes and another type too. It WILL require you invest considerable time researching the specific version of TrueCrypt that was used, the type of container and the specific cryptographic hashes and lots of other information before you even begin attempting a brute force key guessing session that has any chance of guessing the key for the TrueCrypt file. Assuming you can get the settings all set right it may stumble across the key imediately or it could take until beyond the end of the universe!

Donemax Data Recovery 1.0 I downloaded two days ago. Does not have a clear description where and how many discs and partitions and USB ports are there. And not tried. Deleted!
