From the NovaPDF website the Standard version " .... can create links within PDF documents, add watermarks, compress the files and more. Additionally, any web links on the document will be converted to real web links if you desire. It can merge PDF files, send them automatically by email, define private profiles (allowing you to set page size, compression, security, signatures, watermarks) and more." Can this Lite version do these things? Thanks!

Can't install! :(
Error when installing, first two errors: The arguments are wrong
Next two errors: Can't ???? be done (fout 0x00000705)
There are NO adäquat printer drivers found.
Contact the Admin, to find an adäquat driver and install it.
The program deinstalles and restarts the laptop/notebook.
What? Admin? Don't know what to do, it's just a laptop/notebook.
What is an adäquat driver?

There are two features of Acrobat that GAOTD's free pdf apps have never had -
1) Adding text boxes
2) Extracting pages to another file and adding pages from another file
3) Maybe (because I have never checked), doing a "Find" search

glnz, You can add text boxes with most PDF editors. That's pretty standard. Searching (or finding) is standard too, and most PDF viewers have this. For most people, Chrome opens PDF files, and this obviously has a find feature.

Remember the days when PDF printer drivers used to be just 2-3 MB max in size? Then why is that even with just simple functionality of printing documents that such software keeps BLOATING with each passing version or even sub-version?! Can't developers and companies keep it smaller in size like many of the software products from NCH software, the Australian software company...No matter which product of theirs you lay your hands on, it is feature rich, YET the size ranges from NO MORE than few KBs to 3 MB for most of them!

You are correct. Windows 10 does have a PDF printer. But I don't think earlier versions of Windows do

CliveBowerman, It does, but like many third-party offerings, they give more granular options and more designed for users than the Microsoft's solutions. The prime example is setting automatic filenames. Sometimes its great to print a PDF and it gives it a filename and slaps it in directory X without any intervention. With the default Microsoft driver, it pops up the 'where do you want to save?' dialog. Also, images tend to be mega high res, giving large PDFs. Sometimes, you might want these reduced slightly to give smaller PDFs. This software gives you these benefits.
Aah, just remembered the other mega-useful option. Some drivers allow merging PDFs before printing, so you can print a document, and it'll merge it with another PDF which has your letterhead and/or logos on it, etc. This means you can print headed paper from software which doesn't give that option. That can be a great feature.

CliveBowerman, Aah, just found another benefit, after looking at alternative PDF writers. Some allow basic editing before final 'compilation', so you can edit any text or change a picture, etc. Obviously the Microsoft one just allows printing - there are no edit facilities at all.

Yes, Windows 10 has such option.
But anyway- in addition I have installed some software similar to nova PDF since it provides me with some more options. The main one is- with this program I can “print” documents from multiple different programs- in one combined pdf file.
For example- I pay something online and I want to have everything in one file. I can “print” all the different steps of the process of the payment, later- I “print” all the confirmation Emails- for example- from Outlook, then- I can add some “prints” from any other program or file, and finally- to save it as one pdf- file.
Means- I do not need to create multiple files and then to use another software to combine them. No biggie, but to me this way is more comfortable.
Please note- the above is just my point of why I install such additional pdf- printer, and I’m not talking exactly for the today’s giveaway (didn’t test it since I don’t need to).
