Nice handy note taking software. Seems like it can update until 6/14/19.
Not a bad extra service for users. Thank you

If you are already using the free version of My Notes Keeper, then this is not necessary. It has better GUI and overall experience and most functionalities are there and more. You can insert screen cap images there. Thank you GOTD.

Also had older version registered few years back. Downloaded this new one. Installed and got the message old license expired. Used the readme email addy, put in info and got license info at old yahoo email pretty quick (in 5 mins?). Plugged that into newly installed version that I had chosen to 'renew'. All good.
Wouldn't try to use the emailed key tomorrow since as usual seems a one day event.
Course the basic version would still work but hey why not get a Windows 10 one. thx

Unfortunately, I cannot write in Unicode characters in this program!

Oh, I found it! I had to go to Options / Notes list, and there change to appropriate font, and it works!

If you didn't get your license key emailed to you, try using another email address.
The last time this was offered was version 3.11 and I still have the email addy I used for that release.
When I tried using the same email for this newer version, it was never sent so I used another
and I received the key immediately. Hope this helps others. Also, be sure it's a real email addy and not
a generic one like hotmail, yahoo, etc.

Excellent for text notes but has no graphic storage. Easy setup and simple to use but its not cloud connected.

Did all the steps and it still wont register. Says the key I was sent is invalid.

I had to redo it all over again for it to register.
Got it so far

Cathy E Butler,
Do you or did you have an older registered version of CintaNotes installed on you computer?
If so, do this first. Make sure CintaNotes is not running on your computer (check system tray, exit the program)
Go to C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\CintaNotes and delete 'license.key' file.
Install CintaNotes vesion 3.13 and try to register it again. It should work fine.

Can anyone tell me how this or the other suggestions is better than Evernote? I use it for everything and don't want to change if this is not a better product. And I fail to see where it is or the others suggested. What am I missing?

Installed Cinta Notes and filled in registration including email address early morning. Still have not received license. This happened last week with another software product. I'm not understanding why I can't get registration numbers on some software.

Couldn't get CintaNotes to apply the new licence even though it was telling me it had. Has installed version Pr 3.13 but when loaded says it is the basic version, the licence relates to a previous version which has expired and to input the new one which it refuses to accept. Rebooting and reinstall made no difference. I have sent an email via their contact page but it was rejected under Error 503 Service unavailable.

When started (as in portable), it shows the license as a 10 day Pro Trial version. You can select the limited (free) version, or upgrade (buy) the pro license.

I am not interested in downloading "10 Day Trial" applications from GOTD. I might not even get around to testing this or any app within 30 days, let alone ten.

Never mind.... I read the "readme" inside the unzipped directory, and not the one in the top level directory (that I leave from the previous app installs.

Correctly registered now....

Just a comment, that once you have registered the License information shows:
Fully functional version
Expires: Never
Free Updates till 06/13/2019
Hope this helps.
Have a good day.

Much better is the free, open source QOwnNotes. I dropped Cinta when I discovered QON. Try it.

Reply   |   Comment by Celia  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

Celia,
One thing I noted on looking up QOwnNotes is that it is a PLAIN TEXT note grabber ... whereas CintaNotes seems to keep the formatting of what is grabbed and saved.

Reply   |   Comment by JimC  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+12)

Celia, QON is focus on making the note looks Great while Cinta is focus on speed, i use both, QON for some idea that need some markdown here and there while Cinta is when i scripting some code as in programing (nothing can beat something as easiest to backup your code with auto timestamp it before making change with just CTRL+F12)

Reply   |   Comment by Ant_G  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Celia, built a Vista and XP build of it using https://ci.appveyor.com/project/pbek/qownnotes/builds/24917896/job/ix0c35k5mi3kissq/artifacts

And I can't seem to find a spell checker function in it! I'll stick with the last giveaway version of AllMynotes Organizer Deluxe Edition 3.21 it works better and has a resiliant propietary database format rather than basic but cross platform sqlite3 database. It does not impliment the ugly Markdown syntax or integrate with cloud services but since I don't want to use either it's not a bad thing for me..

Celia -- My 360 anti-virus caught an un-named trojan buried in the zip file for Windows and quarantined the file. The file was D/L from the QOwnNotes own site.

JJ Menning, since they are open source you should report this to them or you can try to upload the file to virus total to see if another anti virus engine get triggered by it.

I used Cinta Notes for years and even bought the pro version. It really is a good program, however lately I find OneNote meets my needs better than Cinta Notes. And with OneNote being free, that is an added benefit.

Depending on your needs, you can't go wrong with today's giveaway, but do check out OneNote as well if you have not tried it in a while.

Do I understand correctly that after downloading the GOTD I then have a choice of using the extracted program as a simple Portable version instead of a normal installation .. thereby avoiding entries on my computer if I choose not to keep it ?

Reply   |   Comment by ericN  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

ericN, Me again - further to above I have now d/loaded the GOTD and got the main exe but when I go to install this there is no mention of any Portable program .. it just wants to install to my C: drive as usual.

Reply   |   Comment by ericN  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-4)

ericN, try using Extract ALL context menu option on the downloaded zip file and when the extracted contents folder is opened you should see a CintaNotes_Portable folder... it's not hidden... it contains the portable files defaulting to the free edition until you obtain the pro license if you give them access to your email address to send it to you.

John Sykes, Not on this giveaway! This giveaway provides a lifetime license with no updates IF you go to the URL in the readme.txt and enter a valid email address and submit the request and their email makes it through the wild west of the internet to your email provider and is not blocked as potential spam before it gets to you.

I suspect you are getting lost amongst the two giveaways running today... the other giveaway provides a 1 year license https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/leawo-tunes-cleaner-2-4-5-0/

The Cinta Notes website describes the $39.00 version as one year, with the Pro version being a lifetime deal. Does that mean that this version will work for 1 year only?

Reply   |   Comment by Monty Burns  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

Jigger, I honestly still can't see 1 year mentioned on this page? Anyway it does seem to be one year - which i'm reluctant to start using incase i lose a years set of notes unless I pay, when there are plenty of other free options

Reply   |   Comment by Monty Burns  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-4)

Monty Burns,
please pay more attention to what the description on the developers page say!
It says 1 year only about the free UPDATES and not about the license in general!

Helen, I didn't read the entire website, just this page and the page linked to above. To not make program appear to be $39.00 for one year on the landing page isn't a good idea in my opinion

Reply   |   Comment by Monty Burns  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

Jigger, no Jigger, underneath the description as I see it it says in bold
"Please note: the program archive also includes the portable program version!"

Reply   |   Comment by Monty Burns  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Monty Burns, the program stays PRO version forever. For 1 year you'll get free updates for it.

Reply   |   Comment by M. H.  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Monty Burns, I belive you a misreading the license on CIntanotes website http://cintanotes.com/pricing/
The 1 year is for Pro Updates for the paid license... the giveaway Pro has the Pro Updates timeout curtailed to bring it inline with the GAOTD standard terms and conditions.

If you read Licensing Terms
•CintaNotes is licensed per user. One license can be used on any number of computers owned by the holder of the license.
•The PRO and the Basic (Free) licenses can be used for both commercial and personal purposes.
•The Basic (Free) License is provided by default and doesn’t need to be purchased, however certain software features will be disabled and not available to use.
The PRO license doesn’t expire and license activation is not required. You can register the license at any time.

The "LIFETIME PRO" deal is for unlimited lifetime PRO updates. Does that finally make sense now?

Reply   |   Comment by TK  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Monty Burns, on the landing page http://cintanotes.com/ I cannot see ANY reference to 1 year anywhere... you only get the 1 year Pro updates text on the Pricing page you have to click through to from the landing page and on that page it states the Pro license does not expires so can't for the life of me see what your seeing on any page, here, the landing page or the pricing page...
