I have tried to use this software and after going thru a labyrinth of conflicting requests ended up uninstalling it. However, thanks to Bob Hannent, Qualified broadcast engineer, ex-BBC and lecturer in broadcasting, I've discover an amazing FREE professional software called DaVinci Resolve.

This is his quote, "Yes, DaVinci Resolve is free and from a very well respected pedigree. The biggest problem is that it is very powerful, it is a professional tool that Blackmagic decided to release for free in order to support sales of their professional hardware. Using such a powerful tool requires some patience to learn the techniques. But once you master it you will be heading towards professional skill!"

Installation failed and downloading from website option doesn't work either. Not messing around, giving it a miss...

Some indication from the ReadMe that this may be a 1-year license. (?)

Puzzled by all the problems people are having with the install and activation. I did the first part and it was activated immediately using the code provided. Code did work fine.

Installed from the link provided in comment #1. Install seemed to be okay, but program starts with a choice of 3 sizes - NO sign of any login box such as shown at "Activate BeeCut: Step 2"
I pick any size and the Beecut app closes. That means I can't use/trial the app and so I certainly wouldn't pay an annual subscription, based on this performance. Sorry. Uninstalled.

Played around with BeeCut a little. It's a bit like a very simplified "Camtasia Lite."

If all you need is basic editing functions and Instagram-like filters, it should be fine, although for unknown reasons the preview image is blurry and there doesn't seem to be a way to increase that resolution. But, far too simple and unconfigurable for real work.

Uninstalled.

BeeCut obviously anticipated that there would be issues with the registration process and went to great lengths to explain the registration process, nothing wrong with that you might say. However, it looks like the majority of down-loaders are still not able to register after down loading. Surely the idea of offering these give aways is to promote your products and company and therefore you would think that with so many people reporting difficulties that Beeut would be on hand to offer assistance.

If people are unable to down load, install and use your products then they will very quickly look elsewhere for something else, which means that in stead of promoting your products and services you are driving potential customers right in to the hands of your competition, not a very smart marketing strategy.

And yes, I managed to install and register without any issues and played around with the software for a couple of hours and was quite impressed by what this software is capable of, even someone like me with little or no editing experience, I was actually able produce some pretty good stuff. However, having tried it out I won't be keeping this no my system as it's not something I have any use for. BeeCut do yourselves a favour and help those having issues.

I waited and read all of the failed installs with one or two saying that they succeeded so I thought I'd give it a ago. I do hope this might inspire others to persevere. To boldly go Etc Etc.

Oh yes, tricky it certainly is but impossible, no.
I downloaded directly from the link in reply No 1 and managed to get an install on the drive I selected and noticed a desktop shortcut appeared.

Clicked on that and it was asking me to register. Also, because I had copied the Activation code into a notepad page, which I left open, I had to reduce screen size to see the notepad page.

Anyway, tried a few times to register my eMail and after lengthy faffing about ended up signing in directly, then a bit of trial and error got me a code sent to my email address. I had to type that in before the (Fast)countdown ran out. Did that and it then paused a bit then asked me to enter activation code which needs careful typing in, (activation code doesn't copy/paste) so and I now have a registered copy.

Sorry to disappoint but this took so long that I have so far been unable to test the program to tell you whether or not the effort was worth it but its a nice feeling when you succeed in getting to the end of it when so many others have failed. Go on, go for it. You WILL get there!

Three tries and it just will NOT install!

Looking at the BeeCut VIP product page I was initially confused – I didn’t see anything to indicate that the setup file was a downloader, while the site talked about uploading video to edit. It is a full app though, and it seems to work in a very quick test, though it will not import .m2ts video, and exiting BeeCut VIP after the 1st test crashed the win7 32-bit VM where I had it installed with a memory error. I did experience some display glitches, possibly because of the VM’s graphics hardware emulation. BeeCut VIP does use AviSynth [hard coded rather than installed to Windows], which *might* cause it to be a bit slower working with your video compared to other editors. And as you’d expect, it uses ffmpeg.

Installation wasn’t bad, but unlike most of the similar setup file downloaders I’ve used, you aren’t given the option to save the download before installation, nor are you made aware that you’re using a downloader. Once the app starts, you’re given a choice of 3 aspect ratios – select one and you get the GUI. Directions on activating the app are here: beecut[.]com/activate-program.html . The 1st time I clicked the icon I got a blank window – closed that & the 2nd time I got a log-in screen, but no way to get a new account. After adding an email & password, which didn’t work, the window showed the option to create a new account. You have a line for the email address, one for the password, and one that’s empty with a button to verify your email address. Click that, and you see a countdown timer telling you how long you’ve got to receive & open their email, then copy the code in the email to that line, & click OK. Once you’re logged in you can click the button to Activate VIP, enter the code in the GOTD readme.txt file, and you’re good to go.

After installing BeeCut VIP you’ll have the program’s folder [Apowersoft – 766 files, 66 folders, ~120 MB], with folders added to My Documents, ProgramData, Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Local, and Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Roaming. The registry gets new entries for the few filename associations that BeeCut VIP uses, but it doesn’t associate every type of media file with the app like some ill-behaved software. You get uninstall entries, plus an Apowersoft key, and Windows firewall is set to allow BeeCut VIP to pass through.

Would I buy BeeCut VIP? At MSRP no… I paid less for VideoStudio Pro Ultimate 2019 and separately, Nero 2020 Ultimate, which are both much more capable, plus there’s always DaVinci Resolve for free. Some also like the free ShotCut. But as a GOTD you might find BeeCut VIP useful if you’re not already using those last two.

I followed the instructions in Comment #1 and it loaded without any issues. Note that when it asks for a verification code, you click "Get" at the end of the box and it sends you an email with the code.

I had same issue as other subscribers (email already known). So I asked for an activation code and weirdly it came from apowersoft.com. Maybe beecut is part of apowersoft? who knows these days. Either way if the registration process here is a reflection on the quality of their products, they have much to improve on.

Shame as the product looks half decent and as a long time Camtasia user - which is not cheap, I would have considered spending my money with them instead - but not now. BeeCut can buzz off as far as I'm concerned. Happy Christmas to everyone at GOTD :)

After failing to activate, I am able to use the program. Strange!!!

Okay, it was a bit of an unusual verification process and granted it's a little confusing, but I had little problem. When you download the program, click on one of the three ratio buttons, and then you can click on the icon at the top right to put in your email. I used password-less verification. They will email you a code. After putting in the code, then you can activate it using the activation key. It's not hard, just different from most verification processes, which is what is throwing most people off.

I'm going to give it a try. Thanks BeeCut & GOTD.

Downloaded ok but a struggle to get to VIP activation - then the code is invalid! This is the first time i have had problems with GOTD but pleased to see that no one else has managed to get this one working Deleting.

Never had a problem registering gotd software until now. Tried 2 emails just to be told they are already on record. Tried a 3rd which was accepted but NO code came through. So tried registering with Facebook. It told me to 'carry on using the software'. But no, it still wants a registration code which they will not send.

What is happening her BeeCut????

Running Windows 7 ultimate. Downloaded from G.O.D. AND from the site listed in comment #1. Installer would not launch with either. Deleted all traces of the two installers, Re-tried download from latter again, ran windows compatibility checker, accepted its settings, shut off antivirus, tried Run as Administrator all with same result: Nothing!
I want my 90 minutes back!

After reading and doing what Beecut suggested in this post, I was able to download and activate on my Windows 7 laptop computer albeit it was a little jumping through hoops to get it done but successful. TY GAOTD and Beecut

Why don't developers get their collective heads out of their backsides and just allow us to enter the code from the program instead of having to phone home with it? I don't know why Firefox keeps coming back with:

"Restart Firefox" "Cancel", if I click on "Restart Firefox" it closes all open windows, opens a new one but the new one stays blank. When I click on "Cancel" it just closes the dialog box. Does anyone have a clue of what is going on?

installed no problem then tried to register it
just went round in circles this should be a simple process i just gave up and uninstalled

Activation code does NOT work. When creating a new account per instructions, I attempted to enter both via cut and paste and by hand-typing. Message states "invalid verification code" and will not allow me to proceed.

Finally got the email link by using another email account.Installed and followed all the instructions to activate.
Activation code is invalid.
No need for this to be so complicated.

As soon as i start the program Windows tells me it has stopped working and will look for a solution

After download It says my Email is on their records, I have never heard of Beecut before. Far to much to try and register , A total waste of time.

I have downloaded the file and opend zip file, clik'ed the setup file, an install dialog box opens and it says; installing - please wait, and then nothing else happens, have said 0% for about 10 minutes ????
