This software is a good "work-in-progress". I am able to play and record radio (and podcasts!) from around the world. I don't see anything about Spotify. The built-in "Help manual" is poorly written and appears to be about a different version of the software. The program completely crashes if I click on the "Music" icon on the media center. I have sent you a crash report, as requested by your software. The only way I can listen to anything I recorded is to use the "browser" icon. If the program fully worked as stated, it would be great. I will keep it for now to listen to and record radio and podcasts. (Hint: There is no "download" button - just click on "record" and the software will record the song, convert to mp3 and even save the metadata with lyrics all by itself!)

Harold,

I found out that you can set it to record a lot of different stations at the same time.
Just highlight the station, click on record and move to next station.
After half an hour you may have 20 odd recordings saved so that makes it OK - Just.

No one has explained how to download ANYTHING, but it wants to start with Windows and share whatever content that you have..... What?

Unlike the description of the software specified, I see NO way to record any streamed music with this software. Has this software been misrepresented?

It seems to work fine for me. I clicked on radio. Then I selected Country(music). Then I clicked Start Mass recording. A screen popped up and I used the default of 10 stations. And it started recording. It says it will record 250 songs during this session. It is saving the songs in Music/Audials/Audials Music folder.
Works great and I had no problem on Win10 with a little E2 processor.

To record music, click the radio button, choose a country. When you see the different artist, place your mouse over one of the artist. Don't click the button. Wait until you see the four icons. The four icons are the play, record, show and the three dots buttons which give you more information. Just click the circle button and the program will start recording. I hope that helps.

There is nothing in the program that allows you to record spotify. Complete sham

Has anyone figured out how to record a single song with this program (instead of the whole bunch of songs)?

Your feedback will be much appreciated.

consuella,

It seems the only way i have found SO FAR is select a station and set it to record. It records the songs and saves them individually - just delete the ones you dont want.

Not ideal at all but maybe I just haven't found the individual method yet.

Reply   |   Comment by Terry I  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

To [ consuella ],

That's not what it's for.

It's for downloading entire radio station broadcast time slots, maybe helping as you are looking for new music, new band names, gathering UFO responses to Internet music searches for you to listen to and keep or expand from, or erase.

It is overwhelmingly complex and dense and complicated and confusing on screen.

Because it it is so all purpose, it has no purpose.

You can explore tutorials and other help stuff, but there is absolutely nothing as simple as:

- to find a song, band. album, type of music, radio station,
- type the name as best as you know it,
- hit enter
- wait
- see it found and downloaded,
- click it to play
- if it has announcer voice-overs, wait, and other versions will be found and snipped together, which may take a long time, or never happen.

I downloaded a thumbdrive worth of Christmas music for a long drive, and it was horrible.

I did find Sia as a new artist to me, and that was nice, so then, by other means, I got all of Sia's music to listen to, satisfied myself, and moved on.

Few artists are worth listening to more than once, for me.

So, even though it's an incredible program, it's way too complicated for self-figuring out, and the world it listens to - the music web - is way too sloppy to organize and fix up for collection-like selection and listening.

Even going to your local library and ripping CDs is better than this.

Plus, library's have audio-book CDs.

Good luck, and let us know if you figure anything out within Audials.

Terry I,

Thank you very much for your reply. It is much appreciated.
I wish, they made it possible to record a single song. It would save time and greatly simplify things, if one wants to record only one song.

Best Regards,

consuella

To [ consuella ],

I just tried 20 times to get Audials to find and download a song ( truth hurts lizzo ), and it never offered anything to suggest it could and would, and crashed 20 times, including crashing sending a crash report.

I got the song in 3 clicks via Abelssoft free YouTube Song Downloader, and had it in 1 minute, even on an old slow computer.

- - - - -

I tried, Audials, I tried, but I really do not know the purpose of your software, other than time-shifting web radio ( yawn ) ... maybe ... if Audials does not crash ... and if a user can figure out how to get Audials to do it.

Does ANYONE have an Audials success story for ANY task, and how did you do it, and on what computer?
.

I have installed the software and loaded it but I don't see anywhere you can save a song that we find. We can play it, but I don't see an icon or link anywhere that allows us to download a song. What am I missing? Can someone tell me how we are supposed to download songs.

Installing took an hour, after it was done the CPU utilization was very high as well as memory use, closed the program forcefully because it hanged at the end of setup, I stopped all entries related to audials from the task manager, started the program as administrator, it ran fine but Spotify links to be found, I went to close the program and it crashed, I'm running Win7 64bit all patched up.

Installed on two Windows 7 computer. Installation took a long time. The software clashed one computer. However, it's working perfectly on that computer now. I didn't see the program on the other computer. I am not sure if that is because I have Audials 9 install. This is a nice program. It has music, radio, podcasts and television, but I am not sure how to record them maybe you have to upgrade.

Hi All.

There are other plugins available on their site created by someone calling himself Samba.
I haven't found the Spotify one yet but will keep looking although I read reports of it cutting off the final 2 secs of the recording.
Gotta go - listening to a bit of amazing Dubstep.

Installed fine on Windows 10 but wouldn't download/play anything until it was run as Administrator (Properties, Compatibility) and installed using an admin account. Seems very capable and as a fan of OTR comedy it found stuff I had never heard within a couple of minutes using the artist connections 'web'.

RarmaRadio - http://www.raimersoft.com/rarmaradio.html does everything this does and more. I purchased the registered version of Audials One and found it to be a single song recorder, hardly what I thought I was receiving, even in the registered version the streaming feature is missing. In RarmaRadio however, it is plainly visible, as are all the other features. The free version even offers recording of streams.

I got an earlier version of this from GOTD several years ago. I've used the daylights out of it. It's fantastic and I'd highly recommend it to anybody that still downloads music.

Installed without issues. Looks pretty capable, although the interface is a bit too busy.

The MAIN problem is only has a few sites to search music from, mostly from video sites, and when you go to "Add additional plugins" the link points to a deleted page (!), so I have no way to search properly. It doesn´t even a preinstalled preset for Spotify, so I can´t even search there.

Anyone?

Thanks

No Hang-ups. No Crashes. This one is a winner for me and my W7 setup.

When installing do make sure that you select the advanced option or it will install with phone-home service enabled AND will start whenever PC is booted.
My only criticism is that the layout isn't very obvious so it takes a while to understand how to operate such as record Etc.

Pedro, Yeah that is an annoying attribute of a lot of software. I only use my adm account for basic win files, I run every thing from the user account I set up. Wish developers would think before they make that mandatory.
