Hhhhmmm... Well, my friend just came over and installed Spybot on my computer, and he graduated from USC, and since I've known him for mad long, I'm going to follow the advice of Spybot and err on the side of NOT being a party to putting mad viruses on my computer.

And anyways, who really finds any of those pop-ups interesting or even enticing? What kind of person clicks to find singles in their area anyways? Oh yeah, the kind that downloads some shitty 3d screensaver. HAHAHAHA, omg, I will return to check on my post at a laterr date. hehehehe

Keep up the good work with those screensavers, can't get enough of those - As for them slowing down your system..well get a proper computer instead of some date old piece of junk, and they run just fine.

Bottom line: The more screensavers the better!.

Alright, they are free I wont complain but at least mix it up a little. The astro-gemini 3d screen savers SUCK!! They are not visually interesting nor do they look at all realistic. How about some abstract screen savers, mix it up a little. My favorite screen saver by far is the pipes screen saver from windows 98, now THAT was an awesome screen saver. Although today I use star-field, mostly black but I can still tell that the computer is on.

The program may be alright, but Astro Gemini Software isn't. Mcafee Site Advisor warns of excessive spam if you enter your name and address at their site. I'm not taking a chance with their screensaver.

#95, #125, just about every day someone reports a false positive from some security software. Just like every other day, there's no malware in this.

To the people reporting abnormal terminations--have you updated your video card drivers and run the latest Microsoft DirectX end-user runtime web update?

Visual quality makes a huge difference in people's opinion of these types of products. While you're limited by your CPU and video card, the settings for the screensaver, and video-card driver-specific settings, have an enormous impact on visual quality and frame rate. While gamers know all this, many non-gamers might appreciate some tips; I'll look into posting something somewhere, perhaps on BladedThoth's forum. After making some adjustments to my driver-specific settings, I'm even more pleased with Atlantis 3D.

You asked: Toolster.MSCheck in Setup.exe

I’ve tried googling it but can’t really find any relevant info. Does anyone know what this free little thing is included with this screensaver? Unquote.

Why does your screensavers restart my computer when I try to use it, both the Atlantis and the Clock one have done it.

I gave this one a fair shot. I installed it, ran the screen saver, and it's nice and all... just not for me. I don't care for screensaver manager that installs with it or the advertisement icon on where to get more screen savers on my desktop. I removed all of it..

Swan, ignore the kvetching, girl! Last month they were ragging on BillW50, and I guess next month will be my turn. Berating them serves no purpose; they are obviously unsophisticated and immature and, therefore, not worth your time and attention.

ASTRO GEMINI .. thanks for a terrific offering. My screensaver is set to pop up at 2 minutes idle, which is about the time it takes to grab my tech or research manuals and notebook, then settle in for a work session. With your soothing images and music in the background, it is much easier to accomplish my writing (I am a published author).

GAotD, thank you for having a 'Screensaver Saturday' ... several of us are wise enough to use music and imagery to boost creative thought and relaxation; surprisingly, most screensavers fill those requirements and I do not have to bother with CD's or vinyl to create a good working environment.

Rated this screensaver a 8 of 10 for graphics (many scenes are jerky) but 10 of 10 for creativity.

Not this one, sorry. I have no problem with screen savers in general I love the plant earth one I got just after joining GOTD. The clock is a joy to sit and watch. I only use the screen savers to actually watch. I either listen to the music or turn it off and listen to my own. I find them soothing for a short period of time after I get off work before I get to work at home. Since screen savers are going to be regular items I would like to see a really realistic fireplace or saltwater aquarium. Most of the offerings of fish I have passed on because the colors are all wrong and the movement isn't right. I have seen a screen saver that is perfect in both ways, I know since I use to have several saltwater aquariums and miss them, but no longer have time.

I just wanted to say that I love this site and thank you all for the free stuff. I do not download much but games, but I love the screensavers and agree with #28,36,48,55,57. I am not to computer savy but wanted to know how do I get rid of the message that comes on the screensaver of atlantis to buy the full version. I can't seem to get rid of it and it happened before on another screensaver I downloaded from here and finally I un installed it. Any help would be appreciated.....witchie

I thot oit sounded like a nice screensaver, since I don't have any other than what Windows provides. And it doesn't provide the fish tank anymore. Unfortunately, it was weird. streaks, things that looked like spotlights, and the plants were grey. So I uninstalled and deleted all the folders. Thanks, anyway.

This is the third download I have tried, and the second that I deleted because of problems. I am still trying to figure out who to ask about error messages that showed up after I downloaded a game.

Maybe it is me.

#23 In my country (Portugal) we have a politician who keeps giving marks to everyone. You remind me of him, when I come here for my daily giggle on all the whiner's comments. You both must meet! Portugal would thank you enormously if you entertained each other with your marks, points, whatever...

#33 Thank you for the reviews! They've been really useful tome when in doubt about downloading the offered software.

Thanks GAOTD, for today's screensaver and for the great progs you offered the last couple days. Most of the times I don't leave any comment 'cause I'm too amused with all the whining. Almost lost yesterday's offer on account of that. When I checked, there were only 5 minutes left to install the software...
I for one like screensavers, and this one in particular, but my favorites are the clocks. Have 4 different ones so far.

If possible, when it's not screensaver day, I'd love to see some more graphics related stuff, like Photoshop plug-ins (Filter Forge would make my day!) and other proggies but, of course, I'm always grateful when you give away something I can find a use for. After all, it's free!

#46: I've taken dumps bigger than you, smarter than you, more challenging than you... so bask in this attention as it's all you'll get.

Those that are complaining about "whiners that complain about the whiners": Hey, if you enjoy the whining, you now get twice for the same price (free).
So zip up, and have twice as much of a laugh about the show, while it lasts.

Screensaver works like a charm on two of my systems, one had a bit of an issue with the manager but that was due to another screensaver manager apparently wanting to do the same job at the same time.

This is the first time that I have downloaded anything from your site and I'm not into screensavers per say but this looked interesting so I've done it. Ind it is great, except for the fact that it runs for only 60 seconds (you can watch the count down on the screen) then it wants me to BUY the full version. Now, why is it called a "giveaway" if it's just an advertisement? I'm greatly dissapointed.

Comment #100 by That Guy;

Try the following address for a free animated wallpaper every day. Some are good some are bad, but they are free. You may recognize the name if you've downloaded any games:

http://www.elefun-desktops.com/

Today’s is called Pumpkin Jack. There have been some nice jungle and fantasy wallpapers recently.

As for today’s screensaver; it’s generally okay. I've got to agree about the excellent water/surface shadows that someone mentioned above. The only part that doesn't come up to scratch is the look of the architecture. No bump mapping and it looks too fresh. I would suggest the developer improves on this and they will then definitely be onto a winner. Oh yeah, I’d increase the number of fish as well. Perhaps have a few shoals swimming across the screen occasionally and also make the bubbles more realistic. Any sub mariner or diver knows that bubbles are not round under water due to the pressure.

Still I’m a big fan of screensavers and this is definitely a keeper. Thank you GAotD and Astro Gemini. Whoever keeps asking for the Matrix screensaver, don’t bother. I have it and it’s probably the worst one, despite the great images that occasionally pop up.

*** Great Giveaway GOTD ***

It appears some are having problems with the "Screen Savers" after installing. Or other software downloaded & installed.

Best advice I can give you is to read the "MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS" before doing anything else. Prior to installing the software, read the user guide/instructions too, there maybe a hot tip regarding computer issues.

Most problems can be related to not enough RAM on the Video Card or Physical memory. Other problems may be related to the capabilities of your video card; ie: 3D rendering. If you have an old Video Card (eg, like 10yrs old), chances are you won't be able to utilize the product.

Todays Screen Saver Giveaway - From, Publisher: Astro Gemini Software specifies the
"MINIMUM" System Requirements: Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP; Pentium III or higher; 32 MB Video Memory; DirectX 8.0 or higher; DirectX-compatible sound card.

To identify if the computer can handle the software product,
type "dxdiag" in the "Run" command dialog box ... press enter
OR, type "msinfo32" ... press enter
To get basic PC info, press & hold the "Windows key", then press "Pause/Break" key.

My reason for submitting this help information in the comments is for people who don't like reading the forums to seek the answers, but rather complain or ask questions.

At Comment #91 Lisa: when installing the software, it's usually a good idea to turn off your spyware/malware detector (and possibly your antivirus) so the screensaver installs without any problems, or misinterpretations from the spyware or antivirus software. Once you've installed it, don't forget to turn them back on.

Thanks again GOTD.

To the complainers: You whiny, spoiled brats. Despite all the useful and - need I remind you - *FREE OF CHARGE* software that is being made available on this site EVERY SINGLE DAY, still - whenever GAOTD hands out a... well, still *FREE OF CHARGE* piece of software that fails to meet your personal high requirements, you actually spend time and energy on delivering sobbing, dead rotten reviews and/or sour remarks. Why bother?

I have the feeling that you whiners are a bit confused as to the purpose of this site. Do you think GAOTD keeps giving away free stuff just because they want to make the world a happier and more friendly place? No. This is all business. We all realize that, right? Wel... perhaps not.

Anyway....

The daily free software is meant to promote other products offered on this site and its partners, and to attract attention/customers.
If you don't appreciate today's (or tomorrow's) offering, just ignore it. Easy as that.

I admit it my visit to the comments today was totally voyeuristic. When I saw it was another screensaver, I could not help but scroll. It was like watching a trainwreck...I couldn't look away...LOL! Don't get me wrong...I love GAOTD. Today's software was not of interest to me; however, the "scrolling of the posts" made my afternoon. Hello again everyone, :)

This is only the 2nd screensaver that I've installed from GOTD, and I found it to be lovely - although not the best I've seen. On an XP machine, with a NVidia 6200 video card and a 3 GHz CPU, the movements are flawless, smooth and gorgeous to watch.

I downloaded some of their other screensavers just to test run them and believe it or not, I didn't like any of them, which had fake looking graphics with each one having a thin black outline, instead of some professional anti-aliasing

Their water module must have been purchased and added to their products, since the intelligence of the water graphics far surpasses that of anything else you see on your screen.

Can you say lazy? ;)

I've kept today's offer, so thank you GOTD for a pleasant Saturday and your efforts with this initiative.

Thank you also to Astro Gemini for donating their software in return for honest reviews of their products.

Back to chuckling at the whiner comments! ;)
