Downloaded via push notifications with no problem. Installed without a hitch. No problems with registration. Ran on my Windows 10 Pro 64 bit ( I disabled registry cleaner). It is fast. Found several things to fix. Ran the fix. Went to do my daily routine ( which includes Amazon, eBay, Gmail to name a few) I was having problems with slow loading of web pages, and general sluggishness. Now I have better performance, faster loading of web sites I am pleased and will be keeping this. Thank you GOTD & Ashampoo :)

Downloaded, installed and registered without problem. Arrived at the main screen, the computer had not been optimized so I clicked on 'analyze now.' Message came up, 'This will only take a moment.' Five minutes, ten minutes, went and did something else, went and did more something else. Still showing only take a moment.......................................................

Yeah, some holistic programs require a reboot to a clean OS, RAM, cache, and I/O, before fully engaging regardless of what they say.
Let us know if it ever works when it's the first thing run after reboot.

I agree with one of three words used with this software, that being cleaner. Faster and secure are snake oil. The only thing that's going make your computer faster is replacing the hardware. (Ram CPU) If this magic bullet does speed things up, it will be so small of amount, you'll never notice it. Secure... what is this going to do over malware and anti-virus software? Namely Malwarebytes, SpyBot and Avast to name a few. Will it clean out the junk on your computer? Yes it will. I like a lot of Ashampoo's products, But this isn't one of them. Thanks to GOTD for the offer, I'm going to pass on this one

Jim C,
Snake Oil can actually have some benefits [Google] -- the question for today is can Ashampoo WinOptimizer help a device running Windows perform *noticeably* better? And that really depends on how messed up that device's software [including the Windows install] is, along with what's messed up about it. I suspect it would help win10 least, compared to earlier versions, since win10 is reinstalled every 6 months or so with the new version upgrades -- you can mess up a system far more over the course of years rather than months. And I've seen some truly horribly messed up systems.
Easiest way to tell if it can help is after performing a disk image backup [which IMHO you should be doing anyway], run it & see. If it doesn't help, or things go wrong afterward, restore the backup.
In theory cleaning the registry with an automated software approach shouldn't make much if any difference, but there are always some people saying that it helped them. Same with cleaning out some of the files you don't want/need. To me the likeliest explanation is that the mess [for lack of a better word] exceeded Windows ability to cope with it. Microsoft has recommended re-installing Windows periodically -- I take that as an acknowledgement that such a thing can happen. As far as being more secure goes, I think that would mostly depend on what was deleted. Wouldn't AV software have spotted it? Maybe... AV software alone is FAR from bulletproof, with most of your protection coming from monitoring & detecting illicit behavior [Google].

Setup.exe won't run on Vista.

i.e. WinOptimizer 15 supports Vista, but the Giveaway setup program probably only supports Win7 upwards.

There is no GOTD setup program for this, it's Ashampoo own setup without GOTD's VM virtual machine encryption.

Peter Blaise,
You're right! It must be an Ashampoo problem. I downloaded WinOpt 15 direct from the Ashampoo website and it wouldn't run on Vista either. They need to update the System Requirements for WinOpt 15.
I'll happily carry on running WinOpt 12 on Vista!
Thanks!

Billy, giveawayoftheday.com setup exe/gcd wrapper supoorts XP and up last time I tested it... I believe it does not support windows 2000 or none NT version of windows though. It certainly does suport Vista.
The setup program itself provided by the vendor throws up an alert box stating "This program does not support the version of Windows your computer is running."
On the page https://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/prq/4906/system-software/winoptimizer-15 It lists system requirements as:
System requirements:
"Operating System::
Windows® 10, Windows® 8 / 8.1, Windows® 7
Computer:
Any computer that supports the above operating systems."
So published System requirements here that DOES list Vista is WRONG

A very old program. Very useless in win10 and badly translated into Polish (encrypt to zakoduj instead of zaszyfruj. Kodowanie is not the same as szyfrowanie).

You should do o.k. with this program as long as you don't do too much deep registry cleaning. Some people who used Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2019 which might be the same as Ashampoo WinOptimizer 15 reported having serious system problems some making reinstallation necessary. I suspect excessive deep registry cleaning. I have WinOptimizer 16 and have had no problems. I avoid deep registry cleaning. Malwarebytes flags most registry cleaning programs as potentially unwanted programs which should tell you something. So by all means, get the program and use it. Just take it easy on the registry cleaning.
