Apeaksoft Studio, there are 2 questions asking why is an internet connection required to use this program below in question #1 from Robert and in question # 6 from Robert. Please provide an answer to these as I do not feel the need to share my files on the net. thanks Frank

burke,
Apeaksoft is obviously not too interested in answering that specific and very important question and that makes people like me very suspicious and uncomfortable to install their software as l can see any reason why an installed software will still need to go through an internet loop, just to transfer data using a USB CABLE between a phone and a PC?
I will surely not install this software on my PC.
Too risky.

Installed and registered ok. I've got a load of PDF files in Books on my iPhone 6S which I want to copy to PC. Will this software let me do this? ITunes just wants to deal with stuff I've purchased from Apple - zero. I want to get away from Apple, but want to be able to get my PDFs off.

Pros:
* Exporting everything fast (very quickly) from your phone ( I use Samsung Galaxy S8+) to another device (Desktop PC/Laptop/Mac Desktop & Laptops).
* All phone data & files are organized in the software

Cons:
* Software will not back up the original the folder(s)
For Example: Samsung Galaxy S8+/Facebook Folder/(All of your Facebook photos) export to External Drive H:/*Manually Create New Folder*/*Manually Create Facebook Photos*
If I didn't Manually Create a new folder, then the files will just be everywhere and unorganized and just be a mess.
Basically, the biggest Con on this software is Zero Organization.

Overall:
Other than Zero Organization, I'll say it's a decent piece of software If you're into old school style of backing data up with a modern look.

It doesn't mention if it is lifetime or yearly, but in the License section to the right, it says 'Annual'.
So that means that this program will stop working after 1 year from now?

Could either Apeaksoft or someone else explain to me why I need an active Internet connection and authorisation to a third party giving full access to all of my data to transfer such data via a direct link cable from my phone to my computer?

Reply   |   Comment by Robert  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

Robert,

Program cracking is a huge problem for software companies. These programmers are known as Black Hat Hackers or called Crackers for cracking the paid software for free. They used a highly common method of tricking software companies' servers of their paid licenses. You download a trial version and install it. You have to turn off the Internet completely. Replace the software's server register license with a cracked file to tell the companies' servers is software has been paid. Once back online the companies' servers will check If this is true or false as sometimes it works.

The "Third-party" Software is Mobietrans on your Computer, but it's called PhoneGo for mobile. In order for the software to recognize anything on your phone. You have to allow PhoneGo to talk to Mobietrans on your PC to backup any files to another location as you desire for all those selected file(s) to be located.

Using a cable file is quicker, then using Bluetooth or other wireless file transferring methods.

Robert, an active Internet connection is needed when you transfer the data like media data, photos, etc. It won’t transfer your files to the internet. It is used to synchronize with the devices during transfer.

Apeaksoft, when I have a direct cable connection between my phone and my computer an Internet connection is not needed for me, rather for the software that is doing something that neither my phone nor my computer need. So unless there is some data transfer from me to some other entity I cannot see the need for the Internet connection. I am still not satisfied by the answer. Please make the necessary changes in the software to do the direct transfer without an active Internet connection during the actual process. It can be done and should be done. Otherwise do not expect users' trust. After all these data are personal and can be sensitive.

Reply   |   Comment by Robert  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

aFriendlyCow, Then you for your explanation but you lost me on this. Are you suggesting that the program we downloaded is a pirated one and it fools the original developer's server to accept it as the paid version of the original software? In other words this is not an Apeaksoft product?

And of course my original question was why I need to be connected to the Internet while my phone is linked by a cable to my computer; therefore direct transfer of data can and should be done only via the cable.

I know of no better privacy protection than not having my data streamed to another server via the Internet.

A simple yes or no question. Do you need Itunes to use this program?

Reply   |   Comment by AAALt43  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

AAALt43, YES, we need to explain that iTunes should be installed on your computer if you want to use this software. But you don't need to run iTunes when you used it.

If there is any problem, please contact us via e-mail: support@apeaksoft.com

Apeaksoft, Then you need to change the website that clearly states ' That's the reason why we develop MobieTrans which enables you to transfer any data like photos, music, videos, contacts, SMS, etc. between your iPhone/iPad/iPod and computer ' without iTunes '

Hello AAALt43,

I am wondering something reading all this on and about iTunes. Since you do not need to run iTunes (as they are stating) to use the program, ie. nothing with iTunes helps you read/write (access) your iPhone or visa versa, could it be you only NEED the Apple drivers for windows, to run this software? I will not use that bloatware iTunes on my windows device and have not have a problem with accessing my phone, see below.

I use a different iPhone manager from GOTD, (have been updating it for years here, and I like it a lot) and it only uses Apple drivers and nothing else to manage my device. Though this program will download the drivers for you, I have my own way of doing that and even to updating them. You can research online to find a free program that will download the latest and official Apple drivers.

Just a few things to note, you need to give "trust" on your phone for your pc, and that pops up when you plug it in. So, make sure your iPhone screen is open when you do that. If you do not give the permission from your phone, no windows program or the computer will be able to access the phone, just charge. A few times in the past, been a long while since this happened, I had to reinstall the drivers for the phone to be "seen" by my pc and the program.

Good luck, hope that helps, cheers!

MonkeySnark, (and if it's ok to ask about this here), can you tell me the product or drivers you need/use, please? I have an Iphone and an IPod and I don't use ITunes for either of them, but need it for the drivers, currently. I would love to be able to continue using my phone & IPod without having Itunes on my PC.

MonkeySnark, so do tell, what "different iPhone manager" have you been using for years? Also, can u advise if any software exists that really can recover deleted photos directly from your iphone? (ie iphones with older ios that does not maintain a deleted photos folder).

Reply   |   Comment by ray hines  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

ray hines,

I use the iPhone manager by Digiarty. They had a different manager originally and they progressed/added to this newer 5K version. Been using their product since iPhone 5, and other then a few minor hiccups with those first few versions, it always ran smoothly. This latest manager is a complete iOS manager, not only for downloading pictures and videos, and before I go further, no I do NOT work for Digiarty or GOTD, just to keep that clear.

DearMob; https://www.5kplayer.com/iphone-manager . WinX MediaTrans, is what the other version is called and still available on their main site, DearMob is the one I use. They both work, as I was confused to see two slightly different managers with Digiarty and tried them both and just stuck with the 5K version. Along with the CopyTrans software in the other post, all that is on my W-10 (I have used them on W-7 pc without a problem) computer for iOS is this. If you are a die hard iPhone user, then it is worth buying the lifetime license. Tell them I sent you (hahahaha, don't, as they have no idea whom I am)

The reason I mentioned that I do not work for them, is that I really like the Digiarty programs and find them well made, useful and they do work. Just for instance, I use this; WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe, and it does download videos fast (from YouTube, or other sites using the URL, etc.) and will convert them to what ever you need. All downloaded free for nothing (best price) from GOTD over the years.

Just to touch on your recovery question, and I am no techie professional by any stretch of the imagination, but, if your iPhone can be "loaded" onto your pc as any other file storage device, then you should be able to. Another musing, the architecture is different, so not sure how that would work and what a recovery software for Windows can find on an Apple device. But, as I said, if you can "see" the iPhone on your computer using the manager, you might have a way to recovery something. Online search engines, with asking the right questions, is your friend.

No idea if my answer here is slightly "out of bounds" but in all fairness to the authors of this current program, probably not in good taste and I should of kept this for a forum, therefore my apology to Apeaksoft.

You have to understand, Apeaksoft, or any other original author of a program, work hard to bring something to fruitation (is that even a word? haha). Offering it here does two things, markets their product to a wider audience and secondly, helps fine tune it and bring some bugs out that they might of missed.

Therefore in all fairness, using the software (or why you deleted it) and letting them know honest, profound feedback, really is important. I have read some responses here, on other programs, from chest pounding idiots, and just cringe at their base crudeness (I am holding back and being kind in this assessment of internet twits) .

"Only a child will complain on something they have been given free and age is never an indication of being an adult!!"

Enough said, Cheers

Installed okay and did a backup of my iphone to my PC. The program reports all folders were backed up. However, when I browse those folders, Contacts is empty, as is Messages & SMS, Others, and Videos. Any suggestions?

Apeaksoft, I think the correct description is "transferring from Android to somewhere unknown to PC, Android to somewhere unknown to Android and PC to somewhere unknown to iOS/Android.

Could you please explain why I need an active Internet connection and full authorisation to a third party to transfer my data from my phone to my computer?

Reply   |   Comment by Robert  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Apeaksoft, not Android to iOS or iOS to Android? I assume this could be accomplished using a PC as intermediary, but can you not transfer directly between iPhone and Android phone?
