Before using iOS Unlocker read the "ATTENTION" on their website cautioning it's use. This is a good program to have in your arsenal of tools but only if all other temps have failed and you have no other choice.

This MAY return a locked-phone to be BLANK as out of the box, but this CAN'T sever a registered tether to Apple corporate, such that, if the phone has been registered to someone, then it will still be unusable by anyone who does not know that someone's Apple account credentials.
A REGISTERED and LOCKED phone may be come unlocked and blank, but registered nonetheless, and it will sit awaiting log-in by the rightful registered owner and not be usable by anyone else until after log-in.
So far, no program has successfully untethered a phone from Apple registration.
Solution: call Apple and follow their help-person's instructions.

In the FAQ of this GOTD I read "Make sure that you have installed the latest version of iTunes" but it's not listed in System requirements.
It can wipe your iPhone data if not doing right.

ad id, and how could one possibly install the latest version of iTunes on XP or Vista... Apple dropped all support for XP and Vista a long long time ago.
Last download they offer for XP was from 5 years ago!
