Once installed and tested ok, does this software require an internet connection to function?

Thanks for the rerun. I could not register the version offered several days ago, but this time it worked.

One suggestion - after launching the program I do not see any place to verify that is is registered.

Rick,

If it's not telling you that it's a trial version along the bottom of the software's window, it's registered. Mine is registered, and it has a nice orange line of text, hinting that I should "Get Lifetime Version with the biggest discount -->"

AOMEI Backupper Pro 661 works in Win11, though I only tested basic disk backup & recovery. The WinPE version, by default in C:\Program Files (x86)\ AOMEI\ AOMEI Backupper\ 6.6.1\ Winpe64\ , will run in Windows, though it needed to be registered/activated separately, and it did run in a VM with Backupper not installed, so it may work as a portable version -- I say *may* because in the Tools section it says you need to upgrade to get the portable version, so the WinPE version may or may not work consistently with different devices &/or copies of Windows. Backupper adds a service which runs with Windows, & that opens 3 listening online connections with AOMEI servers -- when you run the app you have 3 more connections communicating with AOMEI.

Installing AOMEI Backupper Pro adds the program's folder, a new folder in ProgramData, the following files in C:\Windows\ System32\ : ambakdrv.sys, ammntdrv.sys, amwrtdrv.sys, winsevr.dat, plus C:\SYSTAG.BIN. When I monitored the install in a VM, the registry picked up 218 new entries.

While AOMEI Backupper Pro works, I've only got it installed in a couple of VMs, & have only used it a few times since around 2013 - 2014 when it was on GOTD [there have been updates since then], so I can't fairly say if it's great, or not. Back then I had bought a tablet with 32-bit UEFI BIOS, which AOMEI's bootable USB sticks would not work with, but Macrium Reflect would, so I started using that on all of our devices, and have had no reason to switch everything over to something else.

I tried downloading this the last time and couldn't get it to register. This time it was not a problem.
Some time ago I purchased a SSD hard drive . the company recommended a third party to move my system to the new SSD. It would not work. I used AOMEI for that process and it worked perfect. I have been using Aomei for years and it has never failed me. The cloning process is exceptional it also has other benefits added which appears to be very useful. Thanks for a great software.

Regarding Registration: repeatedly pressing "Registration" did not work. Needed to close and open the program again to succeed.

PLEASE answer the question everyone else is asking!!!
What happens to my back up after 1 year. Can I still use it? Do I have to purchase a new license to be able to use it?

H, all backups can be accessed with the free version at any time with the free version you are limited to which type of backups you can create not what it can open/read/restore ;)

Hello Bruce, Helen, anyone from AOMEI
You never answered the following (and several others') question from previous Giveaway on October 4.
Please ANSWER this. A Rerun does not solve the following problem.

I have a previous AOMEI Backupper Pro version 4.0.2 that is LIFETIME.

I would like to install this newer Pro version 6.6.0 BUT only 1-year license, WITHOUT losing the LIFETIME Pro v 4.0.2

Is there any way I can install 6.6.0 in another directory/drive without losing the LIFETIME v4.0.2?

If not, I will pass. A LIFETIME v4.0.2 is more valuable to me and others than a 1-year 6.6.0. \

In the future, please consider allowing a limited 1-yesr version to be installed WITHOUT removing older version.

Thank you
An AOMEI fan

kren , If you currently have a lifetime license with the purchase of Pro version 4.02, why can't you simply download the latest version? Or is your license just a lifetime of that version? There is a distinction between lifetime version and lifetime upgrades.

The free version of AOMEI Backupper was the simplest program I found to clone a drive and I certainly will get this Pro version.

The offline generated key is 172 characters long numbers letters upper and lower case. How am I supposed to copy and past this very long string in to a machine that booted up USB/linux Aomei with no internet connection and no way to open another app like a text editor!

Purchased this s/w after auditioning a giveaway a couple years back. It's worked well from Win7 thru today's Win10. No complaints. AOMEI software just seems more logical (to me). Their partition manager s/w is my favorite of its kind- also a purchase from past giveaway.

I have just purchased this software to replace Acronis which is now a yearly subscription which I do not like. Aomei Backerupper Pro is a lifetime update product which I like so it was worth the 49.95 price for me though I wish I had seen this promo first. It is much easier to navigate although I find the backup times slow but no slower than Acronis. I became increasingly unhappy with Acronis as time went by and did some research to find a suitable replacement. All reviews consistently recommended Aomei.

Reply   |   Comment by vfal  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

vfal, the promo you see here is for $39.95, and is only good for a year. You can spend just $10.00 more ($49.95) for lifetime of upgrades. If this is what you did, then you did get the better deal.

Reply   |   Comment by Trevor Robinson  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+13)

Trevor Robinson, You can use the free standard version and still access your backups and restore features.

Reply   |   Comment by Collins  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Trevor Robinson, I would presume it reverts to the free edition features. Compare the editions on Aomei backupper web page

https://www.ubackup.com/edition-comparison.html

Reply   |   Comment by Stewart  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Trevor Robinson,

You will lose access to the programs features. Your backups are fine, only inaccessible. Almost all of these Cloning/Backup programs allows you to create a bootable cd/usb, this can be used to access the backup after the 1 year is over.

You just will not be able to create New backups, or Restore a previous backup. Most will allow you to Browse the backup file.

Reply   |   Comment by AdamOver  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

In the past AOMEI's giveaways remained registered forever. If this one does expire, it should fall back to the free version, though it would probably make more sense to download & install the latest free version then because it will have been updated. You can see the difference between free & pro versions here -- the only thing that I see that might be a concern is encryption... I don't know if you encrypted your backups if the free version could/would restore them.

Trevor Robinson, In my opinion, you can always use your data if you created a bootable media, like strongly suggested by Aomei.

Rabbit,

Your backups will still be available, you just wont be able to do anything with them. I use Easus, so cannot comment specifically about aomei; but loosing access to the programs features does NOT mean the backups can Never be accessed.

AdamOver, first thank you for responding, I'm a little confused, OK you say I my backups will be available but I can't do anything, what does that mean I can see what's been backuped but I can't use any of it meaning I won't be able to transfer anything I've lose, in that case it's totally useless, is that the case?
