Every day we offer FREE licensed software you’d have to buy otherwise.
AlterCam 3.9 was available as a giveaway on October 14, 2016!
With AlterCam you can:
Windows Vista/ 7/ 8/ 10
39.9 MB
$29.95
Create electronic catalog of your book collection. It doesn't matter what books you have - All My Books works great with usual printed books, ebooks and audio books.
Organize your movie collection automatically. Keep your discs and video files on the hard drive in a perfect order with All My Movies program.
Installed and registered quickly and easily on Windows 10 AU 64 bit.
I was unsettled that the first thing it did was to open an alert box saying that they noted that I had a rival software installed and offering a reduced price upgrade to replace it. Never happy when software scans my system!
Altercam works but I find it slow and lags very noticeably, especially when using one of the filters or effects. The range of filters and effects is not as broad or effective as the rival software so, thank you GAOTD and Bolide, but I'll stick with what I already have.

This is really quite a poor program. One or two filters are original, but they ALL suffer from serious lag, introducing a couple of seconds lag (and blur) to the cam feed. Also caused my gfx driver to crash, which has never happened with ANY other program on this laptop.
So it's slow, buggy, unoriginal. I'll stick to the free version of ManyCam. Even WITHOUT the pro features it's better than the full version of this.

GOTD:
Could you comment on this please, "The program is available for $29.95,
but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer."?
We know the download time for the programs is limited but does this also mean the -program- usage is time limited? If so for how long?
Save | Cancel
olrowdy01, The "time-limited" part refers to the 24-hour window in which you can download it. Unless otherwise specified, the software is yours to keep. Sometimes it's noted that the license will only be good for a certain amount of time (six months, one year, etc.) but I don't see that here. I'm not associated with GOTD, but I've been coming here since the beginning and this has been my experience regarding this.

Seems like a really nice program, however, no XP support is a deal breaker for me.
Save | Cancel
JonE,
Why should they support it? Windows XP isn't even being supported by Microsoft anymore.
Save | Cancel
Raymond Dunton, I wish people would CHECK THEIR FACTS first! Microsoft is still supporting XP SP3 on a paid basis for the security patches themselves. UK Metropolitan Police still use tens of thousands of XP Pro workstations because it just works... They have only recently started considering migrating away from XP due to the ongoing costs of paying microsoft for security patches that are no longer free. ALSO they are still supporting Skype on XP SP3, Malicious software removal tools MS OFFICE 2007 patches for XP SP3.... Windows Defender for XP SP3 and so on... If you read all the comments you should read that it does in fact run under XP SP3 for at least one person see https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/altercam/#comment-521709

Ok so first it installed without any usual hitches . Straight forward exe file with a read me txt . You need to copy the link and get your registration code . I reccomend using 10 min mail or something similar they seem bent on sending you stuff . Immediately it picked up i had Cyberlink You Cam 6 installed asked me if i wanted to get rid of that and use them exclusively . I use You cam 6 mainly as a facial recognition to log on to computer . When you start Altercam you are greeted with similar effects that YC 6 has the picture frames the being albe to alter your image . It appears to have more special effects than YC 6 it allows you to use audio to alter your voice if you so choose . You can also create a video and upload it to You Tube . If you install its driver it allows you to use the over lays and effects on Skype. This sells for 29.95 same as YC 6 and now 7 which is out YC 7 has a deluxe version for 45 bucks . Not sure if these people have a deluxe version di not visit their site . Its a nice program as a giveaway . Would I pay 30 bucks for this ? Probably not unless you like to use your web cam a lot . I think it has better features than Cyberlinks program .

Doc, Are you able to use altercam and YC6?

RichU, I did check that because i was concerned when it seemed to know i was using that software and had it installed It does work as well I use it really only as facial recognition and upon opening it Cyberlink asked me if i wanted their " new and improved YC 7 Deluxe 24.95 of course lol what i do like about You cam and im not sure if Alter Cam has this feature is i can silently set it to surveilance with sound . Came in handy when i was showing the house for sale could see and hear who came in

No XP, no use :)

fatherted, xp is no use, lol
Save | Cancel
fatherted, I know what you mean. The fact that there is no support for 3.11 is what turned me away.
Save | Cancel
fatherted, was previously given away as version 1.5 back in 2014 https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/altercam-1-5/ , supported XP then, I'd be tempted to try installing it in XP to see if it really doesn't still run on XP.

fatherted, installed and ran without error the first time on an ancient dell inspiron 6400 with XP SP3 but failed to re-launch after closing. Their website does not mention any system requirements at all that I could find, uninstalls ok so maybe worth a try.

fatherted,
Works without the slightest problem in XP SP3.

Chris,
When do you see installation problems with XP, never, in Windows 10 all the time.lol
Which one is no use?
Save | Cancel
fatherted, it does not seem to support fortran or cobol devices either. Oh, well. Maybe one of these days I will upgrade to Windows 10. Why do we have to keep upgrading our computers every 30 years?

McGregor, I have 8.1 so I say it is the best, xp is out of date, Vista was better, lol
