Really great screensaver for the season. Not very useful any other time of the year so a freebie like this is really appreciated.

Thank you very much for the Halloween Screensaver. I have been waiting for this one. It runs perfectly.

The sound effects are successful.
But the screensaver will be more attractive if it shows the scene inside the house!

And what will you do after October 31st? Keep it installed or uninstall it?

I keep trying to run it and it keeps locking up, the only Screen saver that has been given away that works was the castle one on my computer, I tried this one and the dinasoar one, but as I said, only the castle one works on my computer, so I figure that'll be the one I use for my Halloween theam. As for "how much free video, and music software" I don't think you can ever have too much in that department..Anywho, I wouldn't have a problem with it if it actually worked

The animations are very short and therefore quickly repeat to everyones dissatisfaction, but the scenes change so often that it is much less noticable here. Unlike the others I have downloaded from this company, I think I'll keep this one.

High quality. Put together well. The kids will love it!

There's just no pleasing some people is there. They still moan if its free!! They could just not download it and come back tomorrow but they must like whinging and whining!!

#4 -- screensaves serve to protect your monitor from screen burn-in.

It seems to me that if your computer is going to work while you're not there, you may as well help society with one of many distributed computing projects. I'm much happier knowing I'm helping when folding@home is running than with my GPU being used for when I'm not there.

Don't blame Astro Gemini for your feelings of sadness and loneliness. Blame the fact that you're a pathetic troll douchebag whose self-esteem hinges on how many of your fellow losers find your stupid comments worthwhile. You're constantly clogging up this section with nonsense that has nothing to do with the giveaway.

This is a good screensaver in "spirit" with the Halloween season.

What the hey.... its halloween and its good for a scare. Put it on the computer while the kiddies make their rounds and then put it away until next halloween. I will run this once a year. Would not pay for it, however.

Thanks for a fabulous screensaver. Completes my Halloween suite of bootskin, logon, wallpapers, windowblinds skin. My daughter loved it and I can't wait to show it off to the grandkids.
As for those who complain about screensavers and want to choose what their *free* giveaways should be....just how much video, music software do you need? Snort....pfft!...

Thanks, this is just what I wanted! I have been using the Astro Gemini screensavers, but I will use this one alone for the next week or so, just to stay with the Halloweeen theme. I like using the manager, because then you can alternate them, I never know what might come up on my screen next.

Okay...the WHINERS need to shut the %#@&* UP! This is a GREAT screensaver! I've been looking for a good, free Halloween saver and NOTHING surpasses this! So what if it's two day until. You're lucky we didn't get this during the off-season at Christmas. Just take it out of rotation after the holiday and save it until next year. Personally, I like a little spookyness even in the off-season.

Now, I DID have a bit of a trick getting it to run. I put it on my WinXP machine which has run all the other Astro Gemini screensavers with no problem. But this would start to load and then just go away (no crash error) I found I had to uncheck the default "Use Desktop Settings" to something close. In my case 1280 x 1024 x 32. I have a wide screen monitor that's set to 1440 x 900 x 32. Now it works great.

And WOW I can tell the artists at AG really like Halloween! It's a very LONG screensaver that takes a long time before repeating. And even when it does, it's not obvious because there's so many shots. Music is appropriately spooky although I usually just leave the sound effects on and turn off the music on these. Definitely the favorite screensaver of the ones I've gotten by AG and GOTD! THANKS!

One suggestion to the Team: let us know (apart the final result) the numbers of the Yes and No, in the case the Yes are 30 and the No are 38, I will certanly care about the 30 and I wouldn't mind about the rest !
In the end: I prefer "not comment" about the SCR, as always the AstroGemini SCRs give me a feeling of sadness and loneliness !!

This is very entertaining.  On my laptop with Windows Vista home premium, there are light-colored bars, horizontal (maybe 100 pixels high) or vertical, that flash on the screen every so often (unrelated to the lightning flashes that are part of the screensaver).  Otherwise, very impressive.

Oh lord no. Not another screensaver. I love some of these you give away, but my machine simply starts to melt whenever I start them. They are nice, but I don't see the point in using something which is meant for when your away from your PC (that's not jealousy of people who can run them speaking ;) ).

I shall have to give this one 5 out of 10 points. But a thumbs up, because it sounds good :P.

Now, if your not crazy about the screensaver manager, you can uninstall it and the screensaver still works just fine.
Some like a screensaver manager, I like to run mine manually myself. But, thats just me. You on the other hand may like it to manage your screensavers.
Keep in mind though, the screensaver manager only works with this software vendors screensavers.
I wish GAOTD. team would bring the screensavers back once a week like they were doing.
Seems to me, there are more people here that like screensavers then people post. Not everyone that comes to this site that take the free offers post here.
I would appeal to the GAOTD. team to please bring back the weekly screensavers on Sunday like they use to.

LOL!!! I did forget to mention that I had it running and forgot about it. I have surround sound speakers with a subwoofer. I turned it up a little bit for the kids and the thunder boom went off. It actually made me jump and say "what the hell was that".

Anyway the sounds and graphix are superb.

I called my mother 1200 miles away and had her download it for the other grand kids. SHE LOVES IT ALSO and says thanks!!!

I just downloaded this screensaver a little while ago and my kids haven't quit watching it since. I didn't need a screensaver with the computers and monitors that I have and I never use them. However being Halloween is coming up real soon I thought I would run this screensaver with my speakers and subwoofer turned on while the kids are carving their first pumpkin.

The software installed and activated with no problems on both my Windows XP sp2 system and my Windows Vista Premium system. I ran the program and "behold" it comes with a "screen saver manager" and 3 new icons on my desktop. Needless to say I uninstalled the screen saver manager and left the screen saver installed. It still works perfect.

Long story short (too late?) my kids love it, my wife loves it, and even though I never use screensavers, I love it. It may be used only for a short period of time for the Halloween season, but with all the hard drive space that I (and most people) have I'll never notice the 9.89 MB size. Would never have paid for it but since it was free today I said why not.

Thank You once again Give Away Of The Day and Astro Gemini. You made my kids happy and kept them busy if only for a short period of time.

First of all, please stop whining and use the comment section for comments about the software. The software on this site is offered to get user reviews.

Screensavers are still useful for many. Some just enjoy them and there are still people out there with CRT monitors that need them for the original purpose "to save your screen from burn in". For those who use them for enjoyment, it is a conversation piece. Not everyone has their computers locked up in a room where no one else sees it.

If you like screensavers, this one is nice because it moves around in the scene. Many screensavers just sit in one view and have things moving around. This is probably why it has a large file size, it doesn't sit still. I automatically turn the sound off on all my screensavers, so it will run silently.

I am glad it is offered before halloween so I can enjoy it for a few days. After halloween, I will go back to my old one.

What an excellent themed screensaver, that will add to the ambience we've tried to create in readiness for Halloween. Everything was dragged out of the loft yesterday and the skeletons, skulls, animated models, mobiles and other decorations are already up. The kid’s outfits are ready to wear and I was even thinking of getting my old wizards outfit out, lol (which was made specially for a Halloween fancy dress disco when I was at university years ago) This screensaver will be a very nice addition to it all. :)

Unfortunately the Pumpkin farmers have had a disastrous year due to the weather this summer, so we probably won’t be having a pumpkin this year (A first), so this excellent screensaver with its appropriate music and numerous animations will do. I'll set up one of the computers in the living room and have this screensaver running over the evening of the 31st. :) Good one Astro Gemini, thank you for allowing us to have yet another of your screensavers for free. I have two of the ones I would have paid for so far, plus several others and when I lose them I will definitely be buying the Solar system screensaver at least. Thanks also to the giveaway team for not being influenced by the screensaver hater’s constant drone with their repetitive complaints.

By the way I think the manager is an excellent addition to the screensaver package, although I wish I could incorporate all my screensavers into the same manager as I think the windows manager isn't as good for various reasons.

I love 3D screensavers, especially when they are well done. This one fits perfectly with the season. It's a keeper.

Phil(#27) - I think people understand the "saver control panel" as you call it is intended for their own products. It's still annoying, unsolicited bloat, much like you. Keep bragging about the size of your big hard disk,though, if that makes you feel like less of a sheep.

I love screensavers but after downloading and trying all the previous offerings from this company that have been offered on this site, I'm going to pass on this one...and any that appear in the future. To date their backgrounds are simplistic and unrealistic looking, the action is stilted and unnatural and the overall effect is one of complete artificiality and lifelessness.
A much better alternative are the offerings of Elefun, each day they offer a free download of either a screensaver or an active wallpaper and the quality of these downloads is very good. (I would post a link but I don't know how.)

Screensaves are a waste. If you aren't by the computer monitor should be turned off or go into sleep mode.

If you are used to the type of screensaver that has fishes, sharks & shipwrecks then you are in for a nice surprise.

I challenge ANYONE with a child between 5 & 10 years of age to get them away from this screensaver before at least, 10 minutes. (If under five, make sure you turn the sound off - They'll have nighmares!) Bribery with sweets, not included.

I installed it (Perfectly) and was listening to it for quite some while. Then did some other work on 'puter before continuing with another task in my office and totally forgot about the computer.

Made me jump out of my skin when it kicked in (Well I did leave the volume up a bit).

Good fun/Graphics/sounds Etc. Albeit a bit boring after 10-15 minutes but try and find another screensaver that'll keep you glued for more than 5.

This one will stay and come out every 12 months.

Is this late? Nice saver and with 2 500 gig harddrives just installed from http://www.newegg.com I dont worry about space so I'm keeping it.It runs great. As allways had to turn off my security to get it to install. Comodo firewall dont like GOTD but I do. Thanks GOTD.

Love the screensavers, don't like the managers but thats an easy fix. Just uninstall manager and keep the screensaver, very simple. Program downloaded, installed and runs great.

This one is a keeper! Installed perfectly. Had no problems at all. Even the size is no big deal when you see how much is put into this screensaver. I usually uninstall screensavers after seeing them but this one is staying.
