I never received an email confirmation, nor what to do with the files once they have been downloaded. Any assistance? I need help before this give-a-way expires. Should I have received an install file, or do I just need to put these in a folder somewhere where I can pick from them when I am ready to do a photo?

How is someone supposed to use a ".jpg" as a photo overlay?

Only 30 of them appear to be ".png"

Reply   |   Comment by Umie  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Umie,
You need to use a "blend mode" in your image editing software. "Screen" often works well..try others to view the different effects. It works with .jpg files.

I received the email link to download but there is a problem loading page. I've tried it twice, and they both give me the same error message when I click the download link. It's only the page the link is sending me to; I am able to access any other webpage, and I have no connectivity problems.

A lot of the "overlays" are variations of the same image. Something that can be done using any good photo editor...free or otherwise. I have some programs (paid) from EscapeMotions (Flame Painter & Amberlight) that do a much better job at making overlays and many fantastic images. I know there are many free programs (probably have them) which can do "overlays".

Not putting down these images as they are good for those who like images done for them. Only, if these are examples of the $99 package (valued at more than $5,000) offered, I think it is a total waste of money.

These overlays should work in any graphics software that has layers and blend modes.

Photoshop, GIMP and maybe Affinity programs.

Photopea(dot)com (a free online editor that can read PSD files) might work too.

The best way to find out is to google the help files of graphics programs.

In order not to unzip the ZIP, I use the free program "Pismo File Mount Audit Package":
Pismo File Mount Audit Package is a Windows application that allows users to mount the contents of ZIP, ISO, Compact ISO, Compact File Set and Private Folder files to the file system as virtual folders or disks.

The virtual folder will look like this:
C: \ Volumes \ Cinematic-Photo-Overlays-Bundle-giveawayoftheday.zip \ 30 Vignette Photo Overlays.

// "Pismo File Mount Audit Package" is somewhat similar to the winmount paid program, but in my opinion "Pismo File Mount Audit Package is better //

Jesrock,

Last time, it was 1,000+ (1,048 actually), this time 1,500.

There should be around 452 new overlays overall if the same templates from last year are in the bundle.

Am I missing something here? yes they are nice overlays, but the fact they're all jpg images makes it a bit hard to use them as overlays straight from the folder.

Reply   |   Comment by grangehearts  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

grangehearts,

The JPEG format doesn't make them hard to use. But you probably should unzip the folder tree of images and copy them to a convenient location.

Reply   |   Comment by Duane  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

grangehearts, JPGs allow transparency. Thats the part you need. If they were BMP files, then yes, you'd be stuffed.
What makes them hard to use straight from the folder? It would be better if you explained yourself.

Reply   |   Comment by Joe DiddlePiddleMiddle  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Joe DiddlePiddleMiddle, basically it states they're overlays, so as they come they can't be pasted straight onto an image from the folder. They require you to open the overlay image in your prog, select the background colour and invert the image selection to get the overlay you require, copy the selection, then paste in place on your image you want the overlay on. Havent tried the lighting overlays yet, but a few look as if you'd need to alter the opacity to get them as you want. As I said hard to use straight from the folder as is, not impossible, but not as simple as a png would be, as paste as transparent in psp doesn't remove the blackground.

Daddy Cool,
The "read me" file is text. It doesn't "go" anywhere, at any speed. You just read it....
There is a text link IN the read me file.
Copy and paste that link into your browser address bar:
and click enter.
It will take you to the page where you download the overlays.
You will need to add your email address into the field..then click "SEND". Your download will start.
It may take a while to download. Be patient.

I'm intrigued... but when I look at the samples, I can't tell what is the overlay, and what is the original image. It would be useful if they showed JUST the overlay.
Or are those really samples of the overlay? If so, how would one combine that with another image? It's complete in itself.

Reply   |   Comment by Bruce Fraser  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

Jeff Thomas,
Thanks for the reply. My wording was poor. What I meant was, "How would one combine that with another image, without the two of them making a big mess?" For example, the sample image with a flying woman holding a teacup: that is a complete picture in itself. I can't imagine laying that over or under another picture without ruining it.

Reply   |   Comment by Bruce Fraser  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Bruce Fraser,
The samples here show the 'before' and 'after' look: The teacup one, though, is an "after". They are not the images that will be supplied.
To combine the images you need to have editing software that supports overlays. There are free ones like "GIMP", that do this. Combining two layers in a blending mode... "Screen" is often used... but you can try others
Cheers

Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but when I click on the link, it asks for $99 for the 10,000 Cinematic Photo Overlays Bundle, the only thing I can get free is the sample pack of 1500 overlays. So many links to click on and information to fill in, don't usually have to go through so much to get the GOATD.

After waiting ages for the download link and a very slow download the images themselves are really good quality and I'm sure I'll find a good use for some of them at least. I'm glad these are free today because $800 asking price seems a bit high for a bunch of (very nice) images.

Reply   |   Comment by Blackhat  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+22)

Blackhat, Hi there.
I'm glad you liked our product.

$800 is the price if you buy all the overlays separately.
However, it is also possible to purchase a full set of 10,000+ overlays for $99
That's about 1 cent for 1 overlay.

Muhammed,

When doing the download, there is only the Transfer Rate visable, nothing more.
So, NO GOOD CONNECTION ANYWAY!

Might be, that another browser can do it, or a restart of the system in Safe Mode and then the Normal Mode.
Don't know, just trying to get it.

File size 1,711 GB
Downloaded 0,995 GB ( 58,12% ) 0,0171197522367515 x 100 % = 1,711 GB
Transfer rate 11,203 MB/sec
Time left 1 min 4 sec
Resume capability Yes

There is more wrong then just Transfer Rate.
Have a look, it's all wrong.

FILE SIZE CALCULATED BY FILE SIZE & DOWNLOADED:

0,995 GB ( 58,12% )
0,995 GB/( 58,12% ) = 0,0171197522367515 x 100 % = 1,711 GB

FILE SIZE CALCULATED BY TIME & DOWNLOAD RATE:
1 min. and 4 sec = 64 sec
64 sec X 11,203 MB/sec = 716,992 MB
(716,992 MB + 0,995 MB = 717,987 MB)

Resume Capability worked.

Any GOTD user likes to inform the real file size?

Thanks! :)

first i used brave browser, than i tried to used other browser (chrome) and still slow connection. restart my pc and i switch my internet connection device and not make any increasing speed.
so i guest the server down.
finally i switch off all my device: pc, my internet connection device for about an hour; restart again, and.... speed connection is look normal and i get the file in a minute.

again, thanks

USER,

(716,992 MB + 0,995 MB = 717,987 MB)

Has to be:

(716,992 MB + 0,995 GB = about 1,711.992 GB)

Guess I'm not that focused as I thought, apology about that!

tommi,

Do you have the GOTD downloaded?

When not, try to Clear all the browser stuff that can be done (accept password when you use it).

Start a new page if you like and close all other tabs.

On top on the right side, you see three lines above each other, click it.

Than click Privacy & Security, there you can find options to Clear a lot, like Cookies, Passwords & History.
When you like, you can set it to Clear it when closing Mozilla Firefox.

Close Mozilla Firefox and restart. Give it another try.

And, today there is an update of Mozilla Firefox.
Don't know, might help.

Or, re-install Mozilla Firefox.

Don't forget to backup the Mozilla Firefox.

You can find it direct on top at Privacy & Security.

How to make a backup of Mozilla Firefox:
