Reezaa,

I downloaded the software and I registered the software but when I went to use it today it was asking me to register it again and it would only let me have a 30 sample of the music.

Negative points:

1. MP3 tags are blank when MP3 bit rate are reduced for portable devices.
2. Creates its own tmp folder and does not clean up on exit. This program would be classified as not well behaved!

Any suggestions for converting ?

While I'm waiting for parts for my dead computer, I bought a new computer which is running (gag) Vista. Since my old computer was already messed up from software installations, I didn't get too excited about the typical damage that most software installations do. On my new computer, I'm being very careful about monitoring installation damage. Reezaa (and Kit and Ellis) downgrade IAccessible from 3.0 to 1.1, so I did a System Restore after installing them. If you don't know what IAccessible is, look it up using Google. If your OEM installed some other search engine (mine has a partnership with Yahoo!), switch to Google. There's a reason why everyone uses Google. I wish Microsoft would buy Yahoo! for $100 billion, and then both of them could go bankrupt. The fact that Windows allows applications to downgrade components is a Windows problem, not an application problem. You should always be able to install older software without it screwing up your computer.

#117, Lee Smithsonian, since I uninstalled Reezaa I can't say for sure, but it's very highly likely that your security alert is a false positive from Comodo, which appears to generate a lot of those (I don't, and won't, use it).

Works great on my Vista system, so far I've converted flv, mpg and m2v to mp3. Thanks GOTD, this was the first one I'd downloaded in a while and it works well as advertised!

Quick question - anyone know of a good, free mp3 splitter and joiner? Similar to MP3SplitterandJoiner, but free? I don't need it rip or anything, just something simple. Any links would be appreciated.

Also - secondary - a good program to convert MP3s to other formats, and vice versa? I don't want to use SUPER, I tried before and it doesn't like my computer. Any other suggestions?

Thanks GOTD!

This programme has a strange bug. After registering (with crooked eyes: thank you BuBBy!) I ran some successful tests. The last one was an MPEG made with a Sony DSC628 camera, with some applause after a choir performance. Thereafter, ALL conversions result in that same applause sound track! Even completely removing Reezaa with CCleaner, cleaning the registry with CCleaner and other tools and reinstalling Reezaa does not help. It seems I am stuck with "a bird that knows one song only".

Wow, now I can convert all the flv files I have of The Grateful Deads 1970's concerts. I found a site several months ago that has uploaded virtually all of the original mixer recordings from the original concerts, and they are totally free. (Anyone interested ask me for the url in the forums, I've not got the link on this computer)

Excellent software. I've converted the music from a few vidios and it does what it says. Also there's a fantastic number of file formats. This has to be one of the best audio converters given away since the giveaway project started in Oct 06

The interface as many have already said is simple uncluttered and easy to use. It also looks quite decent as well.

Thankyou to Reezaa Media Inc for allowing the giveaway team to post this one.

Works as advertised, downloaded and installed in Vista 32 with no problems, I dragged a wmv movie into the program and about 20 seconds later it was fully converted to an MP3 file, even on the lower 128 bitrate it still sounded good. Overall I would recommend it to anyone looking for a small and simple program, I particularly liked the small window and the simple drop and drag that activated the program as soon as the file was dropped into the program. No extra buttons to push, heck it was so simple a 5 year old could figure it out.

@ comment #99. "Da bomb" is current ghetto slang for "the cat's pajamas". "It bombed" is slightly dated mainstream slang for "This sucks." This is a display of the versatility of the English language.

@ Bubby. I hope you remembered to apply liberal amounts of Vegemite behind your ears. Those dropbears can be as vicious as a jackalope in heat.

@ general comments. This programme installed and registered without a hitch on my Vista Home Premium 32 bit HP. I was able to install it into my preferred directory -- c:\Programe Files\Reeza without having to run as administrator or change compatibility mode. I find that Vista sometimes complains if I try to install something into a directory off root, so I try to avoid that.

I am very, very happy with today's giveaway. The first file I tried was a .tmp file which I had dragged from my browser's internet cache into my videos directory and forgotten to rename. Even though .tmp is not a multimedia file extension, Reeza processed it and spat out a nice audio file.

I then downloaded some "talkies" from Youtube -- a debate between Sam Harris and Riza Aslin sponsored by BeyondBelief.com -- using keepvid.com. My browser's download dialogue box did not offer any file extensions that I recognized as being multimedia, so I chose "any file" for one and .svg for the other. In both cases, Reeza processed the files and spat out nice audio files. This will save a great deal of space on my hard drive.

If the developer is reading these comments, I would hope he takes into account some of the suggestions from comments #35, #37, #59, #63, and #65.

The programme window seems to display perfectly on my 1440 x 900 resolution 19" widescreen; and I was able to activate the register button without a problem. I was a bit confused at first by the "register with information here" statement in the white bar at the top of the screen, but found the register button at the bottom and registered without a problem.

While the persistent window did not take up a lot of screen real estate on my 19" widescreen, I think the developer might want to consider a solution that has worked for download managers. When the programme is minimized to the tray, a little icon appears in the top left hand corner of the screen. Any files dragged and dropped onto this icon will be treated the same way they would be if dragged into the programme's main window.

All in all, a handy programme for those of us who are not particularly multimedia savvy. I don't need no stinkin' help file :)

Why can't I drag a .VOB file from a DVD into it and get it to work?? It gives the 100% message, the file made is 0kb, and then I get the 'no dropping' circle when I try to do another one.

Dropping multiple files doesn't work either! I'm very disappointed.

I have Windows XP Pro Media Center Edition
I have 320 Gigs HD
I have 4 Gigs Ram

Re #81 and reference to Super from EightSoft

"Having trouble to download the file Super from EightSoft"?
You are not the only one I had the same trouble when I first downloaded this file a couple of years ago. It seems you are in an endless loop - well here are clear instructions (thoug somewhat long) that get you to the download. Requires a bit of work - I do not understand why it is so complicated to download this program but it is worth the effort.

Note:
There is no shortcut like pasting the correct url - no way. Do not believe me, try it and you will be back at the same place.

STEP 1: Settings in IE
First add "gpl.download.free.fr/Super.html " to your Trusted Sites under your IE"
Why?: because you will be actually downloading from gpl.download.free.fr/Super.html
How in IE?:
Tools / Internet Options / Click the "Security Tab" / Click "Trusted Sites" / Click the "Sites" button
Paste the url: gpl.download.free.fr/Super.htm / Click the "Add" button.
Remove the "check mark" from the line "Require server verification...."
Click "OK"
Make sure your security level is set to "Low" before closing the active window, when set to low click "O"

Reset IE Security setting
Once you have "saved" the downloaded file DO NO FORGET to reset your settings under IE:
1. Tools / Internet Options / Click the "Security Tab" / Click "Trusted Sites" / Click the "Sites" button
2. If you wish you can remove the "gpl.download.free.fr/Super.html".
3. Check off (making sure there is a check mark) the box that reads "equire server verification..."
4. Click OK and OK again.

STEP 2:Downloading the program
http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html
Then go to the bottom of the page (below the red line) and click on "Start downloading Super...."

You will then be redirected to the web page:
http://www.erightsoft.net/Superdc.html

Then again below the red line click "download and use" on the line (in red) that reads
SUPER © is a FREE Multimedia software to download and use

Then Hold the "Ctrl" key and hit the "End" key which will take you to the bottom of the page, the hit the "PageUp" key once.
There you will see the link " Download SUPER © setup file"

Finaly you will have your download.

STEP 3: Return to "Reset IE Secutiy settings below step 1 and make sure you followed the instructions

How never to find another program withe such a long process to download it.

P.S. Took previous posters advice and d/l Any Audio Converter (free) and it converted a 28 minute OGG file to MP3 in 5 minutes. Not saying Reezaa doesn't have its place, but you might consider getting both for jobs which the other one won't do.

this tool looks nice. it's portable (I tried on my usb on an other computer, it's working :) and as easy to use as oggdrop for OGG.
there are of course other free softwares, even some opensource, that do more than this, even if usually they don't propose MP3 because of legal reason. But this one keeps it simple (KISS) and I really appreciate that. if it wasn't for this reason, I would prefer to use Mencoder+frontend, the free open source tool from MPlayer that supports everything everywhere anytime(but only for true geeks).
