Try Inkscape and Libre Office, both of which are always free and can edit PDF files better than this one.

For what it is worth, one cannot erase images and logos in PDF-XChange either, I use the same white out by adding a layer of white on top of anything I want to disappear from sight. The eraser tool erases only parts that were drawn by it's pencil tool.
However, in order to not have this second layer present in the pdf, I just print it as a new document and voila. I suppose you can do the same with the here offered PDF Eraser and nobody will be able to tell you altered anything.
Also, the free version of PDF-XChange, which I use btw, is crippled and many functions like insert, extract and delete pages are only available in the Pro version, so PDF Eraser might be able to help with the deleting of pages.

Yes, you are right there, the free version of PDF-xchange has drawbacks of its own. All things considered, it is a good free tool for annotating your PDF.

Not an eraser, but a "white-out" tool. Not a redaction as it not permanently "erase". Changes are reversible with other software tools. Just a one-trick pony. So many other free pdf edit/markup tools do this and more.

Program has limited use, use could be for correcting/adding suggestions on a pdf and send it back to the maker of the pdf. This program does not really edit, erasing is done by painting in white over it, it can only add, see comment by Igor @1..

Though I like and use this program, one of the quirky things about it is that the things you "erase" show as white "smudge spots" in the thumbnails of other PDF programs.

In this program, erasing just means pasting over, which means that the result is only cosmetic, with the original file still being kept underneath. For me, the quality of the program is the possibility to cut out pages and turn the remainder into a new PDF, or so it seems.
As for PDF-xchange by Tracker, that is truly magnificent software (for the uninitiated, Tracker is the company that developped the Universal Serial Bus (USB), some 15 years ago)

As far as I can tell, Tracker software is free only for 30 days, then have to buy a license yearly.

Be aware that PDF Xchange Viewer is not the Holy Grail of PDF programs. It has it's own issues. For one thing, it has a problem in the way it highlights. In many digital books, as you attempt to highlight one line, it will highlight some of the line below it. Tracker knows about this and has done nothing to fix it.

As far as I can test this PDF Eraser Pro 1.4- it does not change/erase any PDF-content. It ONLY draws a second layer above

As far as I can test this PDF Eraser Pro 1.4 - it does not realy change a PDF-content.
It only draws a further layer above. - But this feature is included in many free PDF-Tools.
