hello,

ah well, installed it on my win 7 home premium main box and had nothing but trouble from the start.

the installer window had a bunch of checkboxes in it, but my screen reader couldn't make sense out of them, but since no one has mentioned things to watch out for I went ahead and entered on the install button.

it installed, and the program started after I hit the finish button.

and I wound up looking at a empty screen with the company/programs title in it and according to my screen reader, nothing else, no menu's nada! the software is totally non-ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant, and totally un useable by a blind computer user.

if these folks care to find out what they can do to fix this, they can contact me at:

I had this before and uninstalled it. It kept telling me that there wasn't enough room on a 4.7Gb dvd-r to burn a 1.5 Gb movie, tho windows dvd burner never had a problem with the same disks! Weird. Thanx GOTD, but won't try it again.

Can a user take two backed up DVDs and burn them on one DVD5 disc with a menu (after shrinking)?

Nowadays, less people "create" DVDs.
For creation of Blu-Ray discs, even less so; due to the high cost.
Probably because storage media has changed and it is possible to playback without a disc.
You can plug in a USB drive into a DVD player connected to the TV.
You can even plug the USB direct into the TV.
USB drives can go up to 128 GB or more.

You'd be surprised how many of us still author disks for sharing with family, promotional distribution and the like. A disk is a LOT cheaper than USB drives for sharing material with a thousand people. Think about it.

I would try this, but I don't like the hardware tether and the hoops required to preserve future/alternative installs.

Hi - me again, dual boot (Win 8.1 + 10) - Installed perfectly on both partitions, but it is a good thing I write down my ser# , because when I tried to install it on the 2nd partition - it refused me an activation key. NOBODY lose your key (registration #) or you are S.O.L. to reinstall need a 2nd email & name. I still have problems with programs that are going 'metro' and leaving ALL of us that BROUGHT the programs TO 'metro' - Why NOT have an "option" to show a banner - with say "WORDS" or maybe even "Pull-Down menus" & then you hit the BEST of BOTH WORLDS (IMHO) I took the same 5 pics & 3 homemade movies (2 mins each) & tried 4 different programs & Leawo was 1 & 2 (different categories) all across the board. So, if YOU are are a PROFESSIONAL & you would like a good AMATUER HOME-USE ONLY product - I would suggest this. Professionally, I still work with Corel & Photoshop (sry.) Sincerely, I want to thank GOTD & Leawo for today's offering & I really do appreciate that chance to evaluate all these GREAT creations by these companies. Again thanks & have a great day (HAGD).

I find it amusing that this product for home use -- amateur, in other words -- is also called "professional."
If this were a real "professional" DVD authoring program, I don't think we'd be seeing it here on GOTD.

Leawo software requires online activation with a hard ware footprint; the activation key is tied to the hardware of your PC meaning that you have to reactivate the software if installing on another PC.
I have a netbook with no internet connection;I usually install and register GOTD software inside a Virtualbox Windows XP VM on my Home PC and make that software portable using cameyo which is an Application virtualization software .then i use the portable and pre-reigstered software on my netbook.I can make today's giveway portable using cameyo;but the license key will not be valid for my netbook as leawo software licensing is hardware dependent.

Please read my comments when posted - you have to write the ser# down - OR - have a 2nd name & email to get another key for your netbook. When I installed on 2 partitions, I used the same key & BOTH work just fine. Mind you, I do not have a way of working in both Windows at the same time (I use a dual boot system), so I can only activate that program while only ONE of the boot straps is operational. Hope this helps, time for a temporary email account (maybe using your middle name? Again hope it helps.

Downloaded the application and installed it safely on my Windows 7 based computer. Effective and easy to use DVD burner and convertor. @Jahid suggested many free alternative which are gud, but this tool is much better option for beginners.

Does the one year license mean that it stops working after one year or that you can get updates for one year?

Reply   |   Comment by salemdoc  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

Nope, the subscription is a update subscription, not a license period.
http://www.leawo.org/dvd-creator/purchase.html

Free updates as long as your update subscription is valid.
One license can only be used on one computer.

If you update the program after the free 1 year update subscription, the license may get invalid for that new version published after and you would need to downgrade to a previous one (on the same computer, of course).

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system. The installer installs a yytool on a different place, demands access to the I-Net via a connurl.exe, modifies more registry keys as normal.

A (Chinese - Digitally signed as Shenzen Moyea Software) company without name and address.

Mentioned, this is NOT a Blue-Ray creator, but a DVD creator only.

A Leawo typical blue resizable interface opens, you can get more templates here:
http://www.leawo.org/blu-ray-dvd-creator-templates/. The templates are better, than the typical childish Chinese style. I have to admit, that I like the modern LEAWO interface.

A simple to use interface, I did not find the " the ability to customize menu with unique features.". The program uses starburn.dll or cdrecord.

I did not like the "blue-ray" in the name, which isn't, I don't like the one years license. For a DVD burner??? LOL.

Uninstalled via reboot. It remains the positive impression from the GUI and the handling. That's not enough.

@karl your review is a mixture of both positive and negative feedback...It means software was OK, not that much effective...So, decided not to give a try on it....

Just grabbed and installed flawlessly on my Win7 64 bit, thx GOTD! I have tried on both .mkv and .avi video files and I luv its built-in editor that deadly simple to crop and trim my desired clips. I have not tried backing up a dvd disc of my own as yet. When it comes to converting speed and future upgrade, I'd like to hold my freeware WinX DVD Author.

well, i like DVD creators indeed but I prefer free programs. Leawo's is fairly fast and easy-to-use, but not that perfect.
Will keep winx DVD Author (http://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-author/ ) as my default DVD creator. :D

Interesting approach by Leawo with this offer. First, it is limited to 365 days, which is a non-starter for my needs. Second, they have you download their Blu-Ray Converter product, and it installs as "Blu-Ray Creator," BUT the activation key only lets you use the DVD Creation tools. So, they don't keep splashing you with a Blu-Ray ad, but it is in your face constantly that you're using only part of the tool, only for 365 days, with, I suppose the hope that you'll pay.

Not what I need for an infrequent tool in my toolbox. Uninstalling and erasing the source files. I did grab the DVDStyler above; seems like a keeper.

Thanks, GOTD, Leawo, and GPC111.

So, because you "only" get to use software free for a YEAR, it's a "non-starter?" Seriously? A YEAR is a long time. I certainly wouldn't refuse something for FREE simply because I couldn't have it "forever." If someone offered to give you use of a new car for a year, you would refuse that because it wasn't "forever?" There is no logic to such comments.

as an effective Dvd Authoring program with some advanced options as described.

I would like to suggest some of the Top Freeware DVD Authoring Tools :

* DVD Flick

* DeVeDe

*WinX DVD Author

*DVDStyler

*DVDAuthorGUI

Thanks

Reply   |   Comment by Jahid  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+77)

I have tried a number of such programs, and now generally use DeVeDe on XPsp3 as it does exactly what I want it to do fairly simply (viz make simple menus using titles and background pictures, automatically produce chapters, etc).
Note though that it hasn't been updated for a few years and is only recommended for Vista and below; also, the latest version didn't work on my computer, and I got the best results from using older versions.
Old versions for Windows (.msi) and Linux are available here:

How can this person get so many negative votes when the next person makes the same suggestion but receives positive votes?

Reply   |   Comment by brenda  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+45)

There is a thing on here called a shill. Just in case you aren't aware of it.
gpc111 is promoting one product only.
#2 is giving 5 different software suggestions.
From Urbandictionary: The shill attempts to spread buzz by personally endorsing the product in public forums with the pretense of sincerity, when in fact he is being paid for his services.

@Brenda...happens all the time here. You just have to read and learn about everything you can and make your own judgement call. Many have been saying for along time that a new rating system needs to be implemented.
