I'd love to see Picajet FX as a Give Away Of The Day. It's the best image tagging and organizing software I know. There is also a limited free version. Since they also take part at the TrialPay-program, I can image they would agree to participate at GOTD.

Regards & sorry for my bad English,

    Hi,

It would be nice if Applian Technologies' Replay AV 8 could be offered as a giveaway.

    http://www.applian.com/replay-av/index.php

If that's not possible, there's also another product called Total Recorder that could be offered as an alternative.

    http://www.totalrecorder.com/productfr_trPRO.htm

    Thanks

I would appreciate seeing "Half-Life"(one) added to the Game Give Away Of The Day list. Not the Half-life source, but rather the first half life, which is only 10$.

PS: Thanks, and i love you guys!

I am specially greatful to this service, which gave away very useful and interesting software titles. But... I am FED UP with returning to the site just to find yet another audio or video converting tool. Men, don't you have imagination? Don't you surf around the web? What about help file makers, wysiwyg webpage programs, anime and illustration suites? Haven't you ever heard of, say, Serifsoftware (http://www.serifsoftware.com)? I can't believe it!

Anyway, thanks very much for all.

MCHAL, maybe you are not aware, but not all people are online all the time, and not all converting tools will work.
so, i am one of those, who would be glad, if the giveaway team would actually put up MORE converting tools, coz that is what i am looking for.

Ender, I understand your point. Only I think, in the face of this, the service should be somehow extended to offer a special section page for the mostly sought after or desired software kinds and another one, for quite good an assortment of daily and different software titles.

MCHAL - GOTD doesn't just "choose" which programs to giveaway. It does actually require either the software developers coming forward to ask for their programs to be "offered", or the developers/distributors agreeing to the request when approached.

If your favorite program doesn't appear - the reason could simply be because the software developers or distributors have chosen not to promote their programs in this way. If it just happens that several companies that develop converters want to participate with GOTD, it makes no sense blaming GOTD when your webfile makers, or wysiwyg webpage programs choose not to giveaway or promote their range of software.

It's one thing to "want" a particular program - but it still requires the developer or distributor (the "owner") to be willing to participate in the "giveaway" promotion.

MCHAL, i am glad you understand my point.
however , your choice of how you worded your annoyance seemed a bit demanding, considering, that the giveaways are free.
its hard to feel sympathy, if you get stuff for free, and say things like
    "I am FED UP!"

i think, there is a difference between making suggestions or wishes, and one to make demands on free stuff.

Okay, Bubby and ender guys. I am sorry I sounded rude, although I didn't want to in fact. I guess I am almost fully aware the way the GOTD's scheme work. All this just came out of frustration for seeing so many much desired nice software titles out there not offered as a giveaway of the day item yet.

However, as I said in my first reply (to ender), I deem it reasonable to create a special vote casting forum section for most wanted software, considering the fact that the number of fine software titles available out there (certainly known by many, many users or daily visitors of GOTD) is simply amazing and thus makes it impossible to assess (democratically) which one should get listed as a free offer of the day. This kind of selection process (through the said GOTD developer approach or not) should have be the one to prevail at least once a week in my opinion.

Anyway, I beg your pardon and thanks for all.

I know you just did one of these, but I missed it and I really need a video convert to convert videos to 3GP format. I'm a poor college student and I can't really afford to go out and buy one of these programs and all the trials I've found only convert like 30 seconds. Thanks

What I would like to see offered is a package that allows you to take your digital photos and burn them as an indexed slide show to a VCD or DVD, which can be put in a DVD player and the show displayed on your television.

Just found this site. What a wonderful idea, thanks for the service!

    Some ideas for you:

Any of the iterations of Poser. see http://www.poserworld.com/Home.aspx

Advent Rising (PC version, by Majesco). see http://www.adventtrilogy.com/

    Any 3d modeling programs.

Older game titles for PC, such as Lander, Star Crusader, Hardwar, Xenocracy, Battlezone, Tachyon: The Fringe, Independence War 2, Imperium Galactica II, etc... There were a lof of good titles in the late 90s and early 00s that you may be able to secure.
