The link to Ask.com remover is- Click HERE This is a remover provided by Ask.com itself, but it does do the job. I remember from December! :) I will also use RegSeeker to find any bits left over from it in my registry & then all PC.

Surprisingly, it's quite nice, the interface and all that? Just open up IE or Firefox, rightclick on their toolbar or whatever, and enter the key. :)

Hope that helped. Of coarse, the price is unreasonable, but other than that, I like the toolbar and it's ok.

Never trust a company whose website consists of a one page ad with no contact information.

That alone should send up a red flag.

These people want to sell this thing for 29.95? Yet they provide absolutely NOTHING on their web page? Nothing more than a brief, yet not full description of this, and it's done in poorly translated English.

Secondly....Within a minute of this being posted it had a high rating and zero comments or reviews. Suggesting the people attempting the sell this were waiting to bait the ratings.

Firefox has a FREE addon that does this.

There are "so many" free alternatives out there that this particular piece of software is useless. Specially, if you have firefox then you don't even need to download any software; a simple addon or a greasemonkey script will do the job. Heck, you don't even need firefox, as there are a lot of websites that do the same job without installing anything (except for cookies maybe).

By its name, I'm assuming this program just works on youtube, (though I may be wrong as I haven't tried it, it's not worth downloading) whereas the alternatives that I am talking about work on other sites too.

Sorry that despite such a lengthy comment, I am not listing any alternatives, but you can easily find them through Google.

Final Verdict: No need to download this program; just Google for free alternatives.

okay software but videoget is 8 times better.

Hi, Downloaded fine on Vista 64 bit, installation was another matter.

The installation is very carefully worded, the net result is that this software adds it's own Google search tool bar and also the ASK toolbar, where the latter came from I have no idea as it never asked me.

Some info about customizable search boxes. These are provided by Google to people who want to add search functionality to their website. The website owner has an AdSense account and has created search functionality, anyone using this will be shown a different results page. Any clicks on any AdWords (Google Adverts) will be credited to the holder of the AdSense account. So, it's quite simple, they have included this for the sole purpose of making money with AdSense. In effect, you have software that will continue to earn revenue for the vendor long after you have bought the product. But these chaps have really refined the process, the search functionality is in your browser and not their website, very clever!

Based on this practise alone I uninstalled the program. Yet, my homepage remains set to the page that this software set it to, I might add without my permission in the first place. That's not a clean uninstall by any means.

Lets get one thing straight, any software that changes the way you browse without asking you is hijacking your browser and that is known as Spyware/Malware.

Enough about the installation! What about the program itself. Why would anyone normally spend $30 on something that you can do for yourself, www.keepvid.com for example, you paste the URL and it downloads it for you.

It's a very cleverly worded installation designed to change the way you prefer to surf, all under the pretense of giving you something for free.

I don't often post at GAOTD but I visit often, today I just had to post my thoughts.

Now I am REALLY ticked off. Despite my DEselecting that sleazy OptOut Google Toolbar, I only just noticed that the developers still managed to CHANGE MY DEFAULT SEARCH ENGINE!!!!!!! As Jim Stone points out, googlebreak.com is still being displayed as DEFAULT despite a revo uninstall. It's rare that I encounter such a scummy software developer trick these days. Maybe I should send them a bill for making me waste my time drilling down to purge it?? Is there a rating lower than HIDEOUS?

PS Regardless of whether or not you choose the "full" or "custom" set-up the software will install an albeit Google related toolbar onto your browser. This is surely not right and is not a nice feature of the program which, as above, already has its flaws.

Warning VDownloader (recommended #6) may contain Trojans - could be false positives but be careful!

I ran this Sandboxed and believe it to be a false positive due to the Ask toolbar which can be deselected.

I don't know, even during set-up there were things I didn't like about this software - first of all you can either choose "full" or "custom" installation. I chose "full" and then realised that meant that my default home page was going to be changed so I pressed back and chose custom - which means a full installation without the changing of your homepage. I feel they should state what you are actually choosing when opting for either full or custom BEFORE you choose it.

The software then goes on to tell you "close all Internet Explorer windows or they will be closed forcibly" - um, should that not be "please save and close Internet Explorer windows else they will be shutdown automatically"?

The software then told me I have a newer version of this installed and that "installation would be aborted" - ahhh, so YouTube MP3 Downloader is the same as "Cool YouTube MP3 Downloader" given away shortly before Christmas. And the one given away today is an older version to boot.

For the record, "Cool YouTube MP3 Downloader" works great, is simple to use and does what it purports.

This software was offered last November 29th and had got a total of 90 thumbs up and 314 down, in 24 hours. Now, in only 3 hours: 800 up and 80 down: this is crazy, even the best softwares here haven't had 800 tumbs up in 3 hours!!! Somthin is wrong with this voting!

Be warned that the installer will hijack your browser homepage to something called "googlefeed" unless you specifically choose the "custom" installation option and tell it not to.

Also, it obnoxiously adds an entire search toolbar to your browser, rather than just the couple of buttons it would need to support the actual downloading feature. They even put a Google logo on the search toolbar (without Google's permission, I assume) to make it look like you're searching Google directly by using it.

I'd say that the publisher seems more interested in fooling people into doing their Google searches through them (which they make money off of, of course) than in providing a useful utility. And they actually charge money for this?

Not to mention the fact that there are an enormous number of free options out there for downloading content off of YouTube, most of which are not limited to working only with Internet Explorer and Firefox.

No go. First of all, IMHO, the OPT OUT method for Google or any toolbars sucks, it's bad form and I have no idea if this software automatically installs it if you choose a full install because the developer hides the automatically enabled option on the page FOLLOWING the one where you choose whether to do a full install or a custom install. That's why I NEVER do full installs... I want to see what a company's slipping onto my PC. Anyway, installation seemed to go okay, but there was no option to choose a desktop icon, and none appeared after the install. Worse, when I tried to run the executable, I kept getting an IE popup that the software wanted to launch something outside before I even got to a window where I could read FAQs, assuming they offer any. I wouldn't approve that step, and just deleted the software.

I use aTube Catcher, it can download and convert videos from many sites with diferent tools, and convert various formats into another. It's easy to use and has a lot options.

doesn't work for me - nor in FF3.5.7 nor in IE8 - tells "There is no recognized link to audio". Maybe... but Any Audio Converter found it! Another point - "userfriendly"? Where u can define to where u want converted mp3 will be saved? nowhere... the website is also joke. Documentation? What and where this must be?

This seems to be limited to only YouTube only and its conversion format is limited to MP3 only..
