In 2019, Apple finally decided it was time to separate iTunes into different apps, so the company discontinued the software and replaced it with the Music, TV, and Podcasts apps in macOS Catalina. On Windows, things aren't changing. The software hogs resources doesn’t have a web version, and has authorization limits that can be troublesome if you have multiple devices. If you don’t like using iTunes for whatever reason, here you can get iTunes alternative for free:

I wish it would also manage the apps, ie allow backup of apps to pc and re-install of those saved apps to another ios device.
