Corrupted file statement again.

I have been told that this is due the wrapper that Give Away of the Day puts around the actual software. This must the 10 SW offer that I have not been able to install/use due to this issue. One vendor was nice enough to send me a link to a different install package. That was super.

But Give away of the day just won't fix their wrapper. I am the third party here to day to complain.

Just so everyone knows, i have killed my antivirus and my firewall and that makes no difference...

I keep getting 'files are corrupted-download again', which I do, but I am now tired of trying as each time, I get the same message.

m brown, Hey, just get this program from developer’s official page https://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-copy-pro. It worked well to me.

m brown,

I encountered the same problem last time. Just suspended my anti virus, downloaded again, and it installed perfectly.

Alternatively, you can also download at winxdvd.com/dvd-copy-pro/

@Diana - You have to actually cancel the old license and activate the new one otherwise as Keith says you'll lose the latest version. Click on the head and shoulders on top right of interface. It will show you which version you have and let you cancel the old license

Does this support D9 to D5 so I can burn a single DVD of a newer movie?

Mike McClellan, you are better off to use Elby Clone DVD if this is what you want to do.

TK, the question was not whether it should or not. It was "Does this support D9 to D5". Can anyone answer the question as asked?

Reply   |   Comment by CD  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Mike McClellan, This will not Copy a DVD9 to a DVD5. It has no compression capability. It is needed, in my view.

That was promised. The link never came. This was the third time. My e-mail will work otherwise. I know another way to get free software, but I do not want to use it. Merry Christmas. Goodbye.

Matti,
Double-check your Junk mail folder, especially if you're using a free service such as Outlook. Lots of e-mail ends up there, regardless of your settings. Hope that helps.

I downloaded the "Giveaway of the day — WinX DVD Copy Pro 3.8.0" and the restarted the Windows 10 PC.
The program IS on the desktop but I never entered the License Key which I have on my notepad.

"PS: activate it before Dec 26, 2017"

How do I enter the license key now?

I already had the previous version of this. When I downloaded and installed the new current version - Thank you so much! - it went very smoothly. When I tried to activate, it says it is licensed, and does show the current version. Couldn't be easier, but I do hope that it's not going to decide later that my license code is out of date because I never gave it the new code. So far so good though.

Reply   |   Comment by Diana  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

Diana, give it the new code. otherwise you're still working on the last license.

Reply   |   Comment by Keith Phelps  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

Keith Phelps, (and anyone else interested) -
Okay - I had to tell it to remove the license, then I had to close it and re-open it, and it finally gave me the box to give it the new code. So I'm all squared away. Thank you. :)

No problems installing over earlier version. Having been using this program for about a year, I copied a few hundred movies and even some old DVDs that are rare and hard to replace. It's a great little piece of software that makes perfect copy of my collection.

I currently have version 3.6.5 (from another GAOTD giveaway). I was attracted to its "Extract only Audio" feature, but it appears to only extract all the audio into one massive file. It would be nice if it would create at least a file for each chapter (by number and/or title, if any). For example: I wanted to Rip various songs out of the "Across The Universe" movie, put them into Media Monkey, and sync to my I-Pod. However, having only the audio for the entire movie in one 400+ Meg file doesn't help this. I may as well play the entire move bit by bit and use Audacity to capture the Audio I want. I probably would use Audacity anyway to edit out "non song" audio out of a Chapter/Title file, but at least I wouldn't have to necessarily slog back and forth through the whole movie to find the songs I wanted to rip. If this is not an option in this new version, please consider making it so. For regular DVD copying, this is a great product. Thanks!

Regarding #6, when I launched the programme, NO auto “Check for update” popped up.

I am worried that at some point, in respect of updates, my pro version may change to a free version which would have only limited functionality.

Any suggestions as to how to sort this out are welcome.

Thanks.

Been using their software for years now -- this is a good example of a must-have software, should you ever buy / receive any cd's / dvd's. My kid destroys them, so I back up all new ones as a matter of routine, and make her use the backed-up copies.

There are other convenient uses as well, such as extracting audio (very useful), making an ISO, using it as your general CD/DVD burner if you ever need to & even acts as an ISO mounter. These last 4 functions usually requires 4 different other pieces of software, so it's an added bonus to have it included. Really appreciate this one !

Louis,
This is what I wanted to do with mine, but when I tried, it said that my blank DVD was not large enough. What size do I need to get? The ones I bought said they were for movies but didn't work. Thanks! :)

Reply   |   Comment by Diana  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Diana,
Standard, blank, single-sided DVDs only hold 120 minutes. So if your movie or DVD master is longer than two hours (like many movies are) you need to use a blank double-sided DVD and your DVD recorder must be capable of recording to it.

As was mentioned in the suggestion box at the beginnin, being able to shrink a double-sided DVD to fit on a single-sided one would be a welcome option with programs like these!

Reply   |   Comment by Pat  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

Diana, Here's why :

Most blank dvd's sold are of the DVD5 format, which typically only has a capacity of around 4.3 GB (like the one you probably have), whereas the commercial dvd you purchased probably is of the DVD9 format, with a capacity of around 8.5 GB, and the files on it exceeds 4.3 at the very least. So while it's possible to buy these blank DVD9 disks, they're not so easy to find.

How to get around this problem :

You will either need to use another of this company's products called WinDVDRipper Platinum (sometimes also given away), or alternatively do it in a 2 step process (which is my preferred method anyway) :

Step 1 :

Download free and reputable software DVDShrink v 3.2.0.15 directly from this reputable website and install it :

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/copy_dvd/dvd_shrink.cfm

With the dvd in the drive, run the software, it will read and analyse your purchased dvd to be backed up, then it will first offer to eliminate unnecessary files, followed by shrinking (compressing) at either its recommended %, or your own preference, in order to produce an ISO output file on your desktop, which will be less than 4.3 GB in size, and hence will fit on that blank DVD you already have.

It's very user friendly, and a full guide/description can be found here :

http://dvdshrink.org/guides.php

It has built-in decryption algorythms that will eliminate the majority of these commercial encryption on most dvds (though it's no longer actively maintained, there may occasionally be very new dvds that can defeat it, but I've rarely come across these recently, and the software continues to be widely used).

Step 2 :

At the end of the process, which will take a while, an ISO file will be produced, which is then ready to be burned with most dvd burners, to your blank dvd.

This software being given away here, can do the second step, i.e. burn the ISO you need on your blank disc, and it will then fit.

Louis, This is very helpful! Thank you ever so much! You're a champ. :)

Reply   |   Comment by Diana  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Diana,
I can't argue with what Louis has said, but would like to clarify the following -
Originally DVD's were single layer which can take up to 4.3 GB.
In the last decade, the ability to store twice that capacity was available with a special dual layer blank. They are referred to on ebay (and everywhere else) as 'dual layer' .
Purchasing 'dual layer' blanks are not too expensive these days.
If you go the path of shrinking movies on to a single layer DVD you can notice the quality drop (they are not as sharp).
These days I only use 'dual layer' blanks for movies.
Rob

Installed and everything worked in a breeze. Got started straight away without long process thanks to the simple interface, and full disc backup carries out fast even on a Windows 7 running low-end hardware (Intel i3-2348M 4GB RAM). For me, it also makes good senses to create copies of DVDs that are a little broken onto hard drive or new discs, meaning I can have the content available if the original discs are forever gone. A great tool! Thank you GOTD for today’s freebie.
