when I use F8 and select the FULL NAME why does the programs user interface gain context AND launch the report the giveaway entry box instead of typing through the full name into the target application? Is this an unannounced public alpha test?

Hi TK,

I'm not quite sure I understand your question? The F8 button should launch the little popup box, where you choose what form information you want to fill.

However - if you are running other applications that already use the F8 key - you may wish to re-assign the popup box to another function key. (You can do that from within the software settings and choose a different button to launch the popup box).

Tony, I get the little pop up box but when I try to USE the pop up box to input the Full Name the main programs GUI comes into context (in front of everything else even if it was minimised and then displays the report giveaway dialog and does not type the Full Name into the target browser input box. F8 key is not assigned to any other operation on the system in question and is bring up the proper popup dialog but the dialog is not doing what it is supposed to do. I am using the download from your website as it appears to have better license terms than this "pro lite" giveaway.

Hi TK,

Okay - I think I understand your question. You need to change the checkmark button that says 'software stays on top', and/or resize it beside your browser window. (How people would normally use it is they would have say a small version on the left side of their desktop with the 'stay on top' checkmark button, and then access the giveaways on the right side in their browser window. Makes it fast/easy to enter. Then when you push the F8 button, everything should work a-okay).

Your desktop would kind of look like this:

[--------------] [<----------- browser window -------------->]
[software] [<----------- browser window -------------->]
[--------------] [<----------- browser window -------------->]

So basically, you click a giveaway - opens it in the browser window. Push the F8 key while the new giveaway window open. When finished, go onto the next giveaway in the software window, then go to the browser window, press F8 again, etc, etc...

Tony, Bug 1, program defaults to selecting always on top, Bug 2, program fails to remember user choice to deselect always on top so on next restart always on top is selected AGAIN! I call this buggy behaviour as it is the opposite of the desired operating condition as you have just described it. Bug 3 placing spawned browser and program side by side with always on top unselected using F8 widget with a completed profile so the data is there ... attempting to KeyboardExpress First name into the First name input field... nothing is typed... tried other fields same result.

If I use F8 within the Competition details pane Info or Notes field of your program the text is typed into the respective field-space... to me it suggests that because the program is launched demanding admin rights and the browser appears to be spawned without admin rights Vista silently blocks the admin process from interacting with the non-admin browser.

Hi TK,

Please use our online contact form so we can see some screenshots of what you are describing. We'll send you an e-mail, then you'll be able to send some attachments. I'm not exactly sure what you are doing - so with some screenshots we should be able to figure that out and see if there is something that is not being done correctly.

Thanks,

Tony

how do you filter out malicious user entries, either full on malicious software drive-by installer or email/name harvesting input forms to sell on personal details? How do you ensure user entries are legit and not harmful in ANY way? BTW auto profile typin does not work for me.

Hi TK,

With online giveaways (assuming you are a bit new to this?) - generally speaking the reason companies are giving away prizes/etc - is because they want your name/e-mail to send you a newsletter or special product promotions to (hopefully) sell you something in the future. Obviously - you don't have to, and you can opt-out - but that is the nature of entering giveaways. So, if you do enter a lot - it is wise to use an e-mail solely that use for giveaways - so on the off chance you end up with something you don't want - you can simply switch e-mail addresses.

In terms of entering - while we do our best to make sure they are legitimate entry forms - obviously if something doesn't look right (i.e., excessive popups on the website/excessive advertising/etc) - it is wise just to delete those entries from your list which you can do within the software.

Responded above to your form filling assistant question. I suspect you may have the F8 key assigned in another application, so when you go in the settings , you can change it and it should work.

Thanks!

Tony

Tony, so you do not check or have any way of protecting users from malicious websites being added real malicious sites don't do amateurish things like pop-ups but appear as perfect as possible so you stay there and if requested input personal data. Removing an entry from your own list is because you went there and had a bad experience is like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. (NO PROTECTION) so good to know!

Hi TK,

We do our best to vet the items before they are entered. So yes, we do an initial verification/check/etc.

However, there is always the chance someone could switch sites/get something through that shouldn't be there, which obviously we don't have any control over. Generally speaking those types of sites actually do actually do amateurish things (i.e., strange descriptions, strange links, etc) - so one generally speaking could spot that based on the entry URL, the description provided, etc.

If you notice a certain pattern, you can also blacklist sites from within the software if you find something you don't like, or use the in-software tool to report a listing to us, or our online contact form and we'll take a closer look at them. If you see any links that look odd, please definitely let us know.

Thanks!

Tony, I have used the reporting wizard on various erroring competitions, 404 errors 403 errors USA only giveaways being presented as UK giveaways, spamvert fake giveaways, non-existent giveaways presented as daily giveaways... but they still seem to be part of the main database. I've corrected a few with outdated URLS for giveaways/competitions and added them with real data. Does anyone look or act on reports via the reporting wizard?

After some fight with Norton, the installation worked. But then I got an error message that the name and/or key is not valid. And after Norton woke up from its sleep, it recognized suspicious activity by this program. I wonder how a program that is just supposed to scan for prizes in the web can cause any security problems in the operating system of the local computer??

HI Roul Sebastian John,

Thanks for the message.
a) For the license key - please make sure the top line consists of both your name, a "space", and then an e-mail. If it is missing any of that, it won't work.
b) For the norton 'activity' - not sure what the message was? The software is indeed fine/safe - when you start up the software - it first checks to make sure the license key is valid, and then it checks/updates a list of giveaways. So it should be fine - if you'd like to send us an e-mail, we can look into it further - please send details via our contact form. Thanks!

Roul Sebastian John, It is likely that it requires admin rights and probably prepares access to API's involved in auto-typing giveaway input forms that Norton rightfully finds suspicious activity... the developer should also lower rights of any browser it spawns because if it does not and lets any user input any "giveaway" a malicious user *could* have access to a drive by malware installer site and place a link to that site with a suitably composed giveaway description aimed at target victims and IF this program spawns the potentially vulnerable browser with full admin rights the malware also gets full admin rights by succession and makes it even more likely the victims will get cross-account system wide OWNED by the malware owner.

I tried the software out with the first three links in the database. All 3 were either expired or dangerous links as flagged by McAfee as PUPs. I'm not sure there's much sense in having this software, let alone spending $12/mo for something that I am doing the work for you in letting you know these links are no good!

Thanks for the offer and, while it sounds too good, the saying "if it sounds too good, it's probably not real" is true here.

Sorry

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for the feedback. The links are 3rd party links and should be fine - if not - please send us a message and we'll look into them. Most of the sites (since they are giveaway websites) do ask for an e-mail to enter, and some do have lots of advertising on them - so perhaps that is why they are flagged as such? But definitely please send us a message via our online contact form with the links, and we'll look into them.

Thanks!

Tony

I do not get the error messages listed in your FAQs, but I do get this one:

Error: Access violation at 0x00401858 (tried to write to 0x00401858), program terminated.

Michael,
I get exactly the same error as you. If you find a resolution please let us know. I will do the same.

Thank you in advance,

Hi Michael,

Could you please provide more specifics of when that error occurred? It could be a number of things (so hard to diagnose without knowing more). (Sometimes it could be 3rd party software using outdated libraries, it could be software permissions (the software does need to access the internet), could be different things).

Do you have a different computer (i.e., laptop) you could install it on? Sometimes that resolves things.

Thanks!

Tony

In the youtube video right at the end it talks about the TREASURE!!! button as if it is really a function... It's just a placeholder for coming soon alert box for something not yet thought of or programmed.

Hi TK,

Thanks! Yes, that is something currently in the works, so at the moment you are correct, it is indeed a placeholder. Stay tuned! :)
