I didn't see this email until this morning, March 12. I don't know why this is happening. It has happened more than once this year. It hasn't happened in previous years.

I've been a fan of Giveawayoftheday.com for a LONG time. For some reason, I'm now receiving their emails late at night. Like the email for this one didn't even come to my inbox until almost 11 p.m. Anyone know what's going on there? I would have downloaded this one, so a bit disappointed the email came so late.

I'll tell you what... After having to get Winning Prize Search passed through my virus software and Unhack Me to finally work. Only then to have, Winning Prize Search tell me, I have to update the software, because I'm using an old version. Although it's the only version I downloaded from GOTD, I Quit! In the future, I won't bother you, if you don't bother me. Deal?

Tony, I'm not sure if you are with the company offering us your program but one thing for sure is we appreciate the chance to try all programs first. I was reading your statement below (bottom) and just about every word is completely true.

I was a contester for 50 years and us old timers used to buy colored paper, cards and envelopes and enter dozens of contest by mail and we would travel all over town to mail them from different areas. Hell if my peeps were going out of town they would leave with dozens of my envelopes to mail from out of town.

I thought I remember windows 2000 as the first computer to go online with but I don't remember (I'm 68). Anyway, you hit it right on the head all the way to how entries equal sales. When computers came around I started entering big name, cars and cash contests unless like you said, I wouldn't pass up a big name company with lots of prizes. We would liken it to shooting fish in a barrel.

So you want to know what I won right, Tons of second and third place prizes. Never hit a big one just like I've lived in Las Vegas for the last 45 years. I never hit a big one and when I did win, it was never enough. What am I saying, I'm not a "lucky person" Peace

My answer to Tony, I think... Some people that enter contests/sweepstakes/etc tend to use very old computers. Off the top of my head I don't recall if Win95 does natively support networks - but pretty sure it does because I remember using Win95 in the day, and yes - you could connect to the Internet. Some people do have very old computers - so it is designed to be backwards compatible 'just in case'.

And actually - if 1000's of people did consistently use the software - that would actually be a very good thing. Companies that offer prizes tend to look at that has an encouraging sign (i.e., their marketing efforts are working) - so tend to offer more prizes in subsequent promotions. And some of the major brands (i.e., of the likes of say Coca-cola, Ford, walmart, etc) tend to actually have tens, or hundreds of prizes. So - that would actually be a very good thing.

Interesting giveaway today. There's a zillion niches and a program for every niche. I won't be trying this offer today, but I can understand why some would.

There are a ton of contests and giveaways happening daily, and has been the case for a very long time. The practice of enticing potential customers with the promise of something good will always be around. Look at all of us here on GOTD. I entered contests and did giveaways for a short stint many years ago. I got lots of freebie samples -- some new on the market, some novelty, some quite useful. I don't recall "winning" much, but others did.

It was a lot of work and took a lot of time to go through the various popular contest/freebie websites, sorting through the offers, clicking through, filling out forms. Think of modern day time-suckers like Facebook -- both leave your personal info insecure, and both offer to steal more of your time. I stopped doing those contests because of the incredible dedication it took, and because my time is better spent on more productive things in life. For that, I'll spend $3 for a tube of toothpaste and not worry about accumulating samples. Time is money. Convenience and peace are worth paying for.

There are still lots and lots of sites around and people eager to win and collect most anything, even things they may not need or truly want. Winning is a rush and even the possibility can be addicting.

Perhaps today's giveaway does indeed save people time and help their chances, but looking at the screenshot of this software's window over a browser winder reminded me of how much mental clutter you have to sift through to accomplish a 'win', even with the use of a program like this. Not to mention the fact that scams and data compromise are way too prevalent in today's world to risk giving away the sort of information a lot of these contests require. No thank you.

And what's with today's listing saying $12.95 a month when the developer's website clearly says "The software is only $9.95 USD/month"?

Good luck to you all, especially if you share your personal information with "1,000's" of sweepstakes.

Hi Ilyana,

Thanks for the comments.

a) Yes, many contestors/sweepers do tend to win many small prizes, and then every now and then win a big prize. A lot like the small prizes because it is fun to win something, and then it is of course encouraging when they win a big prize.
b) Some companies do ask for more details (i.e., address/phone/etc), while others just ask for an e-mail.
c) Thanks for the FYI re: the price, there was a typo and that has been corrected.

Have a wonderful day!

Tony

If you want spam, use this app.
First, I installed it, regrettably. Chrome had to scan it, because it found it to be suspicious. Second, a lot of the links are either test links or are dead. Third, many of the links are for blog posts, where they "claim" to be doing a giveaway. Fourth, you'll end up getting spammed with ads. I quote from an actual link in this app "This drawing is ad supported. To complete my entry, I will have the opportunity to view an ad or take a survey from a third-party partner." Fifth, some of the links require you to be 21, such as alcohol companies, or require you to be part of AARP to participate in the contest. Sixth, many links are from the same company, like irishfilmcritic dot com, so this app isn't needed, just bookmark that page if you trust it. Finally, 4/60 antimalware vendors detect this, including Bitdefender. For these reasons, pass on this app. Tony, don't bother replying, its not needed.

If you are in the UK or anywhere outside the USA don't waste your time with this. It's all USA only.

Reply   |   Comment by Bernard Dowley  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Hi Bernard,

Thanks for the message. Yes, at the moment it is primarily USA/Canada based. However, we have built in UK support because down the road we plan on included competitions (aka 'sweepstakes' in the USA, and 'contests' in Canada).

In the meantime though, you can use the software to add UK competitions yourself, and use it for tracking/management/etc. The software allows you to add your items.

Thanks,

Tony

Reply   |   Comment by Denis Tremblay  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Hi Denis,

People do win from contests/sweepstakes/competitions.

This software does aggregate a lot of the promotions and makes it easy to manage/sort items, as well as a lot of other advanced features. In the meantime though, if you wish to do it a slower way - you can find them manually in directories, and see winning stories. I recommend searching for something like 'online sweepstakes', and you'll find a few websites with website forums where people share their wins.

Hope that helps,

Thanks!

Tony

Reply   |   Comment by mark t marshall  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Hi Mark,

Yes, many sweeps/contests/etc do have newsletters/special offers/etc - which is part of the reason they are offering the promotion. Some people that enter a lot tend to set up a unique sweepstakes/contest e-mail address. They do usually tend to support the brands too, and/or directly/indirectly market so the companies benefit from offering the promotion, while of course at the same time celebrating any wins they may have.

Thanks,

Tony

Thank you for the offer, but no thank you. After watching the how to video, the information required by the application barely stops short of asking for everything but your bank details. Not to mention wanting friends' email addresses too, short of spamming them I see no ligit reason for such a request. Too many red flags for me to even dared attempt a trial run, sorry..

Reply   |   Comment by Mannie  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Hi Mannie,

Thanks for the message. Those fields are optional - designed to be used with the 'keyboard express' (which speeds up typing). Some promotions/companies will ask for friends e-mail addresses (for bonus entries), whereas other promotions simply just ask for your name/e-mail (and will usually add you to a newsletter).

Every now and then, people will find an e-mail that is a congratulations e-mail and details of how to claim the prize (which tends to be signing an affidavit for the win, and confirming the delivery address). Smaller prizes just usually tend to be sent off with no affidavit/etc required.

Thanks,

Tony

How many prizes have you win using this program Tony? Just for the record.

Reply   |   Comment by Minh  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+23)

Hi,

We are the software developer. However, people who have used it have won everything from small gift cards (i.e., like $5-$25 gift cards), to some people having won large cash prizes (i.e., $10k+), as well as vehicles.

The program simply is an organizer/list of promotions from offered by various companies - and that list is always changing. Some big name sponsors (i.e., coca-cola, ford, various municipalities/vacation spots/etc) offer prizes, and then there are a lot of mom & pop shops raising awareness for their products & services as well.

Your chances of winning prizes really depends on what you enter, how often you enter, and how many different contest/sweepstakes you enter. It is a numbers game.

This software simply makes doing that a heck of a lot easier for you, because it organizes everything, makes it easy to track what you have & haven't entered, as well as doing multiple profiles (i.e., immediate family members, etc).

Hope that helps!

Tony

It sounds too good to be true. Which, of course, means it will be.

And before you ask, No I haven't tried it. I never try things that sound too good to be true.

Reply   |   Comment by Niv  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+17)

Hi Niv,

Sorry to hear that! There is also expression 'don't look a gift horse the mouth', and there is indeed really only benefit you can get from this. Entering contests/sweepstakes is a numbers game, so the more you enter, the better your chances of winning something.

Using an application like this makes it easy to be very specific what you'd like a chance of winning, so you can focus your energies on that to give you the best chances.

I do you hope you have the opportunity to try it out!

Best of luck!

Tony

Niv, Rather disingenuous to post about software you've never tried. From what I can tell from the description it's just a sweepstakes aggregator that collects them in one place. It doesn't guarantee you'll win anything. I've been into sweeping for years (have won several items) and this software may be useful to other sweeping enthusiasts.

If it's free, then YOU are the product or benefit to someone else. That's why Facebook is free, Google is free, etc. If you get something for free, ask yourself what you have to give up in a non-monetary way to get it.

" The program is available for $12.95/month ", guess who has perpetual income, selling potential savings to the clients.

Reply   |   Comment by Berry  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

Hi Berry,

Thanks for your message. That only happens if you benefit from using the software, and if you choose to get it. If you don't, we don't generate that income.

As this is a free 6 month license, you have nothing to lose, and obviously a lot to gain, should you choose to use it. If you find you benefited after those 6 months, which we hope you would - then we would love to welcome you as a member! And obviously, you could choose at anytime to cancel if you did not find it benefited you.

As it is, this is indeed a free 6-month giveaway, so there is no $12.95/month while you are using it during that time. Hope you do you use it, and win some amazing prizes from various companies/sponsors.

Best of luck!

Tony

Nothing. These are promotions offered by various companies. You can use search engine yourself, or follow certain brands to find out when they offer these promotions.

The service we provide is simply making it easy to find all of these promotions. What you choose to do with that is up to you. If you choose to participate/enter - then you have a chance to win. If you don't enter, then you don't.

Reply   |   Comment by PaulW  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+31)

PaulW, Hi Paul - what AV program are you using? The software is indeed safe. Unfortunately some AV is overly aggressive simply because the software checks for updates. If you are concerned, it is very easy to run it in a sandbox to see that it is perfectly fine. Thanks.

Reply   |   Comment by Tony  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Tony, I use Avast.

Unfortunately I do not trust software which is specifically both blocked & removed by my AV software. Blocked I may understand but removed as a threat is a no no & I do not use a sandbox.

This would just have been to have a paly with & not really something I would have been using long term (unless I won a Ferrari in a week) lol

The software has installed, updated & registered before being blocked & removed.

Hi PaulW,

Could you please let me know what message it gave you? Again, unfortunately certain AV applications are overly aggressive. Some AV software doesn't like online licensing (which is what this software does), so unfortunately does that.

Without knowing which AV software you are using, and/or what the messages are that it gave you (i.e., its reasons for doing so), I can't really comment on why it was that aggressive. It could be some settings you have on your system as well.

Thanks,

Tony

Hi PaulW,

PPS - just reread your comment, didn't see you had mentioend it was Avast. Could you please let me know what specific critieria/message it gave you?

Anyways, the software is safe to run. It does online licensing/verification/copy protection/etc which may be what is triggering avast to display that message. You could always run it on a sandbox, or if you have a secondary computer you don't use that often (i.e., an old laptop), you can run it on that to see that it is indeed 100% perfectly safe to run.

I do you hope you have the chance to try it out,

Thanks!

Hi Paul -

Okay, I think I know what it is now (did a little bit more investigating). The software does auto-updates, and it looks like the current version on the GOTD website is version 1.006 (current version is 1.007). It seems avast just doesn't like doing auto-updates, in which case you can manually download the install link and do it yourself.

Our website has the latest version here (1.007), please try this link and let me know if it works for you.

PaulW, Same here, I uninstalled it because my AV won't let me open the program.

PaulW, Avast sometimes results in false positives and slows down your system. Windows defender and malwarebytes are all you need!

Instead of spending your time on such programs, look for something work that you can buy anything at any time you want without any hesitation.

jou myer, There are already a couple of these options in existence. One is called a shop/store the other is the internet. Welcome to the 21st centaury.

If you had developed such a provable profitable product, then surely you would keep it to yourself to make you win more of the time.

If it looks too good to be true ...

Did you try out the software?

Thanks,

Tony, yes I did.

The first worrying sign came when I discovered that elevated rights were required to run the program, which should not be the case for what this purports to do.

The vast majority of the links are only relevant in the USA, so little use for some locations.

Overall it feels clunky and when attempting to even look for items valid in my location it just didn't work effectively and from the list that was produced, most were just discount codes, which required a trawl through to even attempt to find something useful.

There are already a number of deal sites that bring up so many deals, which is what I saw more of than competitions and so I am not sure that it will have appeal to many.

The promise is that you will win prizes on a regular consistent basis, which is misleading because what you will have access to is more opportunity to enter, which does not mean that anybody will win on a consistent basis or even at all.

Uau, 6 months! Thank you WinningPrizeSearch but I'll better stay with "Everything", a freeware really good with instant speed.

Hi Severus,

Thank-you for your message. Did you try out the software? 6 months is actually a very long time to see what kinds of results you can get from it, especially if you use it consistently.

Thanks,

Tony

Tony, I was going to try it since I think the idea is pretty novel. I'm too busy to do this contests ordinarily but I might do a few if your software makes it real easy. Unfortunately, it failed on the install.

Hi Martin,

Indeed! It is quite a wonderful application! It makes it easy to find companies that are offering promotions and having them in one spot so you can easily sort and find what you want for a chance of winning.

Best of luck, I hope you have lots of success with it!
