Alexa Bennett,

Voucher Code claimed, but no Voucher Code.

And the Voucher Code is....? or not Voucher Code, just Voucher Code snoring.

Marc Leo, you will see that error because you used the voucher code during the registration process, which already upgraded your account, and then tried to use it again.

Downloaded and installed the software. Activated the firewall and VPN. Downloaded the Chrome extension (recommended).

I'm using Windows 10, and it worked great for a couple hours and then restricted me from accessing the internet. My Wi-Fi would say "No Internet, secured", and I didn't know what the issue was for a couple days.

Until this morning when I tried to access Chrome, it said I had no internet -- but it also told me to check my proxy settings. I then proceeded to quit Windscribe and remove the Chrome extension and everything was working again.

I don't know why Windscribe caused me to be unable to access the internet. It must be some sort of issue that can be fixed. Please help!

Do your research people. You will find this is a newer VPN, and that it works a little different than others. They do not keep logs. Yes, it is the free version with 60 vs 10 GB a month. 60 GB is quite a bit. The way it works seems even more secure than other VPNs I have cheaked out.
I downloaded 1.5 GB with Winscribe in 53 minutes. Not going to hear me complain about that. I connected through Canada.
The VPN I have been using took 1 hour 47 minutes to download the same file.
I find it to be a keeper, if my opinion matters.

Its a 60 gig upgrade & there are 50% off coupons online for this but it does NOT allow you to watch US Netflix from Canada. Comes up with the oops you seem to be using a vpn or proxy on the Netflix site. First vpn who surpasses this block will have my interest. Mind you having a censorship when here we get US movies and stations by Netflix seems ridiculous but it is what it is. I will try another site normally blocked. Good try though by this company as at first it seemed to almost bypass the geo block.

Ty, same trouble here. Netflix Australia has pathetic content. Based so far away probably means this wont be worth much to me..

Cheers.

Ty, Netflix has recently cracked down on using vpn to access there content. To easy to access content from other countries and all that stuff.
A VPN that will still work for this is Avast Secureline. Careful though, if you are torrenting, you have to use one of the sites that they allow torrenting on. Clearly marked in site connect menu.

Windsribe blames GOTD for:

The giveaway was not properly labeled by GOTD. This offer has 60GB of bandwidth (instead of the usual 2-10GB we give out to free users), and access to free locations only.

Regarding "invalid keys": This means you already claimed the key during the registration, and are trying to use it again on the Upgrade page.

That may be but, They should have been monitoring the giveaway when it started. Instead potential costumers moved on, I have been a GOTD member for years and know people will not bother if it's problematic and gets bad reviews early on like this one did.

The Pro version should be unlimited like it says on their site, but considering it's a year licence and 60GB month is more than enough bandwidth for most users I can let that slide. I may sound hard on Windsrcibe but there are a lot of VPN providers on the web. It seems to me they could have made a better impression but didn't. 48% thumbs up 52% thumbs down.

Using the VPN program as I write this and all seems well. I might even buy this some day. Checked it for DNS leak and that was good also. I've had some vpn servers leak my real IP address in the past so always check your vpn to see if they leak.

I want to start off by saying thank you to windscribe for the giveaway

This is a great company witch i done my research months ago when i first see the program as i see the ones complaining have not done. Also the ones complaining are very ungrateful for something that is free.

This company just like any other has to make money to stay alive. With givint this program for free and unlimited would mean some people would not care that the company has to make money to keep the servers going and people would over use it.

if you look at company's who give things away for free and ask for donations they will be lucky if 1 out of 1000 people even donate $1 to them. I have worked for a company that had over 10,000 people a day on it and in 1 month of asking for donations for a service that was free we got $16.

This is a good company that is giving you 60 gb and free support with out you even having to go in to your pocket and pay 1 cent and all they ask you to do is say thank you.

Hi Windscribe, cheers for this giveaway.

I have been using the free version 10GB limited on my home pc & very satisfied with the speed. Was already thinking about going pro then just saw this giveaway. Can you tell if I can associate the acc already in use with this or should I have to create a separate account with new username solely for this giveaway?

Recommended WS to many of my friend after using it, good speed & next to no downtime. Big cheers for your service.

Reply   |   Comment by Deb  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+6)

Windscribe, how can a service like yours that requires signup by customers be any better than a normal ISP's privacy arrangments? Are you powerful enough to resist any government intelegence agencies presure to obtain your users details and surfing records or a court order for them?

This offer is not even honest, it's just a free 50G or 58G a month upgrade on a free account (depending if we consider the limited time offer for 10G a month or usual 2G a month free account) not a free Pro account which is unlimited usage and connections... That hardley generates much trust that you'll honour any service promise you make!

I expect the GAOTD modrators will do their usual and either keep this in "awaiting moderation" phase indefinatly or until the offer has nearly expired.

Passing all Internet communications through a third-party website is an enormous security risk. Potentially, this website could record your bank accounts and passwords to other websites, and could also inject malware into the pages returned to your browser.

Not recommended, unless you have complete confidence in the integrity of this server. But unfortunately, I never heard of Windscribe before today.

This is nothing more than a VPN director, which means they know and recorded all of your visits and they have a dBase on all of your surf habits and sites. How they make the money, selling your surf habits to third parties.
So much for private surfing. I used to work for such company not long ago, went out of business, Win 10 logs your habits before the surf pockets are sent to VPN server and defeated the purpose of such web sites.

Reply   |   Comment by Moriss  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-12)

This is completely false. As per our Privacy policy (https://windscribe.com/privacy) we do not log any customer activities or keep logs of any kind except for total amount of bandwidth used in a calendar month.

Reply   |   Comment by Windscribe  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+9)

Windscribe, exactly how does one make sure a "Privacy policy" is enforced?
It's only part of a loosely formed civil contract that would take serious money to pursue through the courts as a civil action And what levels of compensation could be claimed if you chose to not apply your privacy policy apart from a refund of the subscription for breach of contract?
If a warrant or court order was issued for you to supply a users activity then would you not be legally bound to switch on logging to whatever level the warrant or court order specified and provide that information to the requesting agency without telling the account holder?

Reply   |   Comment by TK  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

TK, There is nothing to 'switch on', and we cannot be compelled to invent a system which is not in place to comply with any court order. Yes you do have to place a certain level of trust in the provider, but that's true for most things.

Reply   |   Comment by Windscribe  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Windscribe, I just read win 10 disclosure and in it says, we collect everything and anything you do at home or online, but will not use that info against you, unless we are asked by the authority to disclose your activities, locations, time and all pertinent info.
If there was not a database somewhere in the cloud, how on earth Microsoft and your company can comply with authorities or you will stick out your neck for your customers and say there is no database anywhere?

Was the exact same "key" as in the earlier email. 2nd time it says invalid error. These complicated non-working setups are taking up more and more of my time.

This particular giveaway should be called Windscribe Pro 1.59 "Lite" (Win&Mac) at the very least granting Windscribe Limited is "promoting" this software to GotD users.

First impressions for many speak volumes & beating around the bush doesn't promote anything but turning people away. Save us the hoops, just calling it what it is.

A beefed up free version or a lite pro version. We wouldn't care if it were correct.

Thanks Windscribe Limited & GotD for yet another software promotion we would otherwise not have without you.

Registration takes you through a few hoops but finally got there. Installed easy enough. Simple little interface that is dead easy to understand. (Make sure you scroll through the countries to connect to, as looks as if there are only a few available on first glance). Download & upload speeds are fast, both with Torrents and using FTP. Hides your IP as claimed (I checked). Bit expensive for what it does but I will use it for free for a year for sure!
Thanks to all involved.
