Still has the horrible, focus stealing, splash screen...

It apparently doesn't remember where project files are saved by default, only the last folder you viewed. Now I am forced to hunt them down.

Also, having to change any defaults because of a re-install is BS. User settings should be remembered, not be ignored... Why punish the user for updating and/or repairs? Or, was I supposed to do all that work? That's just as bad, programs have been able to keep user data since the 90s!

Timeline focus still jumps around like a frog on fire after every edit... at least, after layer 37 or so...

Hopefully, one day, these seemingly simple things will get fixed.

I downloaded the program over 2 hours ago (10pm) and then went to the "get activation page". Filled in the info needed and did not receive code. Filled out info again (4 times total - ever half hour) and I still have not received a code. I cleared the Spam so there is no chance I'm overlooking it. I know there are 3 more hours before the giveaway is over but I've got to get to bed. I have to be up again in less than 6 hour. It's kind of not fair but, I guess I'll be missing this one. :-(

Instructions in Readme File says "Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software by running Setup.exe,
then click 'Activation' at the top -> 'Activate' -> enter the license key you received." - No license key was received via email nor via package downloaded. Am I missing anything?

I downloaded this because I saw the option to apply "AI art generator" - well, this bit of functionality is awesome! I took a video and applied the AI art. Awesome! The other video effects are also quite neat. Plus there are other tools - a converter, a capture, a screen capture, a voice recorder and a You tube uploader....there are a few others but I did not play with them. the website and You tube channel is also pretty useful if you want yo experiment.

Very nice tool and thank you for offering the Pro version. Thank you for this software.

I'll take this update. I have found after using the free version and previous giveaway of Pro that this is very powerful and actually easier than some. The feature that I found most helpful for editing videos of conversations and group presentations is the ability to zoom the audio stream display. One can zoom to 4x. Then I can see where sound begins and can cut the conversation at a good place. Most other free editors do not allow one to either see the audio track, or it is too small. I also found it easy to merge tracks as layers, or add an image to a video as a layer. Yes, it is a complicated display, but with a little effort it has been better for me than most others.

Please, note, that the current version doesn’t run on Windows versions prior to Windows Vista. If you use Windows XP, please, make use of VSDC Video Editor version 6.4.2

Hello, you can wait or remove the previous license manually.
You need to delete the license files (license.lic) from your computer, they're located here:
C:\Users\ name of user \AppData\Roaming\FlashIntegro\VideoEditor
C:\ProgramData\FlashIntegro\VideoEditor
After removing these files, insert your new key into the program.

Installed the program, went to the e-mail submission page, filled in the form, but cannot read the security code letters and symbols. They are too cluttered together and indistinct. Tried changing the code selection but still couldn't read any of them properly. Any solutions?

Pete, Try going in your browser to the View menu and in the Page Style select No Style. This can help when certain features are not readable. Switch back to Basic Page Style when done. HTH.

DaVinci Resolve is free (for personal use) and extremely complete. Tons of tools, FX, audio, and more... It's mostly for advanced users, so if you are interested in creating professional videos, look no further than DaVinci!

Yes, a great site -- along with AVSForum, which is gigantically more wide-ranging, for all manner of video hardware, software, and etc.; I have frequented both for many years now.

My video editing needs have mostly been quite rudimentary, so the simplest, most accessible one that I reach for almost daily (even though it cuts on keyframes ONLY, and does not support all of the video formats I might like) is Machete, for which I purchased the inexpensive license.

A not really related question, though I had no better place to attach it: according to my records but not findable at the moment, last March GAotD (surprisingly) had an entry for the Scalisto / "Arsenevich" blog of mostly foreign language films, which had been online for many years. That site just disappeared completely, a couple weeks or so ago. Does anyone reading this know what happened to it ? There was no announcement anywhere that I could find, and Google searches have turned up zilch. Did the site proprietor retire, or something like that ?

This is a very capable editor I know for years, but I'll admit I never got the hang of it. It is not intuitive.
I'll give this new version another spin (I hope it's the full and not the limited one).

Had no problems with installation and activation.

I haven't tested the program, other than running it and deciding I'm not sure if I'll use it because it looks a lot more complicated than what I'm used to (OpenShot).

Horrible UGI, very cluttered and no tool tips on a lot of the icons to tell you what they do. Tried joining and editing a couple of small clips, one of the clips contained an advert which I tried to remove and inserted a transition between the two clips and exported. After the export was done, the video quality was good, but the transition was missing and the part I thought I'd cut out was still present. Thought I might have messed up and carefully repeated the process and still got the same results. Also took several attempts to get the activation key. I'll stick with my current video editor which does all of the above effortlessly and first time. Sorry but not for me.

case, I use Wondershare Video Editor a paid version. I has a good range of features, might not someone who is in to serious movie editing but it does the job well, is easy to use and ideal for my simple needs. Disclaimer, I have no associations with Wondershare.

Is not allowing me to activate after receiving the code. Shows it is already registered to "Giveaway of the Day" and the Activate link is greyed out; so, can't enter the activation code I received.

It did the same for me. So I also installed it on to another computer that had not had a previous GOTD installation of it. It allowed me to activate it fine with the new details (acitvation was not greyed out on this install). Seems to find your previously activated GOTD version somewhere in your registry, and that's why it's greyed out as it already has the activation name in the registry.
