Hello, I've used this product for a few months to download YouTube and other videos. I've had great luck downloading videos that Firefox add-ons won't download from YouTube.

Con: However, this program is not free because I get an advertisement to purchase it every time I open it. Furthermore, the program hangs while it goes out to the Internet and gets that ad. Once obtained, the ad is displayed, I deny a discounted price offer and I'm able to use. it.

I find this practice unacceptable. I don't like programs calling home every time I start them. I especially don't like waiting for the program to unfreeze.

I just up-scaled a video as follows:

Original = Total bit rate 57 kbps. File size 7,562 KB. Size 240X320 (This video looks fine on the TV i.e. not some hopeless blurry mess with no hope of upscaling.)

Up-scaled = Total bit rate 5086kbps File size 186,925KB. Size1080X1440

And the picture quality on a 56" UHD TV is identical. Absolutely no improvement whatsoever

I think I'll stick with the 7.5MB version over the 187MB version.

I have tried registering a dozen times and it simply doesn't work.

However, that seems unimportant because I wanted it for the up-scaling feature which doesn't work either i.e. using the filters and up-scaling has zero effect on the quality of the video.

Registered and works well on my Win 10 Pro X64.
I've using the last couple of versions of VideoProc. It has mid-range editing features (like video stabilization, A/V synchronization) and excellent GPU accelerated video conversion with a range of customisable compression options. It can also copy video/audio streams without recompression when cutting footage. Easy to use interface, that in my point is more user-friendly and featured than Handbrake. But SRSLY, it'll be more enjoyable if it adds a feature of non-linear editing in the future version.

Very easy to use, I sometime need to record both webcam and screen, VideoProc helps a lot, i'm afraid of complicated operation, by the way, i love the interface which is simple and easy to understand. Anyway, recommend this software to everyone.

Video Effect, Watermark and Crop are all disabled.

Other video processing functionalities are available.

DVD conversion works fine.

Downloading works fine.

Video capture (recorder) works fine too.

So, a very good tool - but for some reason the Video Effect, Watermark and Crop are not enabled.

Here is an example from the product home page that shows, how to crop (the functionality that is disabled in the GAOTD of today):

Brian,

>"but for some reason the Video Effect, Watermark and Crop are not enabled."

One of the main reasons I have used VideoProc is for doing cropping because it does not take long to produce the final video, so your comment concerned me because I had already installed the update, presuming everything worked as before (did not need it at that moment). So, from reading your comment I had to see what had been disabled, but it all worked the same as before.

The website implies that the program needs to be activated to get these features, so if you have not activated it before trying it out, it should not perform the same way. I don't know if you activated first or not, but I know that after activation, my copy is working as expected.

If you have problems after activation, let the developers know because that could not be their intention.

Trying to manually set bitrate when converting to H264 fails, and it always reverts to some default, thus generating huge files. baseline can't be set either, even when saving-as , or applying-to-all.

I bought this license last year, like others have said, even with this latest update, still not really impressed. A Very over rated product, nice concept, but still missing many options even similar free programs can do. Have this latest version, but Very slow updates too compared to better free programs.
After a few tests, again Still Many bugs, and freezes, even on my newer WIN 10 16GB RAM pc. Do not have all these issues on even free programs.
Same ongoing issues like it's old program version called WINX, hangs forever, or fails to download simple videos, from either Youtube, MTV or BET.com that free downloaders can easily do.
Videproc does analyzes & loads videos ok, but downhill after that, still cannot download many online videos, Always get Failed error on mostly all tried. Nothing blocking program on my pc.
Still cannot, or no option to simply trim any audio files still, like most video programs can also do.
Still could not find any option to trim a larger videos in multiple spots , and not just 1 trim spot, so have to keep reopening file and saving.
Videoproc has very poor Video and audio Denoise option, takes out all the audio Bass, so sound Flat & terrible on files with hissing tested. Why No audio Bass on sound enhancement options.
Honestly, even though this program has good potential, it still needs many more frequent improvements to live up to all the hype.

I got this the other day when offered. And, I had a project to do on the weekend and used it. This is a GREAT program! Easy to use. Does the whole job. Many, many options and variations of output. I highly recomend. I have purchased several other Digitary products, copy DVD, ripper and one other. This company delivers good product!

I am wondering how today's offering differs from the one last week?

Reply   |   Comment by dlb  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-6)

dlb, Hulu is a service that provides programs. Assuming you are asking if the programs can be downloaded, the answer, due to the way they are streamed, is no. I am unaware of ANY software that allows streamed programming to downloaded. The most you can do is to do a screen capture.

This is a very useful app. It also has something which I think is a hidden awesome feature - the sub-title functionality.
First it has the ability to search for sub-titles...not as good as it could be but it sort of works. The other bit of functionality is the ability to hard code or soft code subtitles....Not sure if there is other software out there that does this so easily or intuitively. Most other similar software only seems to hard code subtitles (please correct me if I'm wrong)...

And the last really awesome fact - the site has a really, really good user manual.

Aside from being the more recent offer (today!) and therefore updated, this appears to be similar (if not near-identical) to Digiarty's previous well-received "WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe 5.15.3" from July 29, 2019:

https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/winx-hd-video-converter-deluxe-5-15-3/

https://www.winxdvd.com/hd-video-converter-deluxe/

It would be nice if Digiarty had a feature-comparison table; but as they are listed on separate website domains, my impression is that it's primarily a marketing re-branding thing.

Install on Windows 10, recognized my RX 570. The CRF setting is limited, the default is 22, but you can't adult it very well. It going from 22 down to 15 or up to 31. You should be able to go to crf 21, 20 etc.

As for speed, Staxrip can also use the GPU for encoding, do it faster and is free.

Did the same .MPG 21 min video in both programs. In VideoProc is took 21 min's and was only getting around 90 fps. With Staxrip, was done in 5 min's and was getting 200 fps. Same settings using the GPU to encode.

First test I ran was promising, my GTX1060 was utilised and the output bitrate was 2182kbps. I've now just repeated the same test and my GPU is ignored and the output bitrate is 8783kbps even though I manually set it to 2500kbps. What is going on?
I find the UI of this program badly designed with settings all over the place and when I do find the setting I want it ignores it.
There's also a lack of precision in the "cut" function. It's impossible to accurately remove adverts from a tv program.
This program promises a lot but sadly doesn't deliver.

"... my GTX1060 was utilised and the output bitrate was 2182kbps. I've now just repeated the same test and my GPU is ignored and the output bitrate is 8783kbps even though I manually set it to 2500kbps. What is going on?"

Some of these converters can use the graphics card's encoder, rather than the much more limited GPU support available with the x264 encoder included in ffmpeg. When I've seen them use a hardware encoder it was only with a few of the encoder presets, and the results were quite different from the presets using software only. I don't have Nvidia graphics so I can't test that. Otherwise VideoProc & similar try to simplify [dumb down?] the encoder settings, which may be understandable if you look at the variety of settings in something like XMediaRecode or the x264 [or ffmpeg] command line options. Because of that sometimes you can't set things as you'd prefer, and frankly sometimes the software may have a bug or glitch that gets things wrong.

"There's also a lack of precision in the "cut" function. It's impossible to accurately remove adverts from a tv program."

You generally need a video editor for that sort of accuracy, which VideoProc is definitely not, though you may have luck with comskip or Lossless Cut. videohelp[.]com has several video editors etc. listed with links.

I just install, my GTX1050 was detected.
But, on my first run I took mp4 file and slowed it to 25% to mp4... 0% gpu load.
So I looked at effects, I don't see any settings for them only for colors and again 0% gpu load on the work. I'm on W7sp1.
So I don't know what all the thumbs up from other.
PS. 33sec clip with added noise took 8min to convert... you call it fast?

Reply   |   Comment by adid  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

adid,

I don't have Nvidia graphics, so can't test if some of the presets use the Nvidia Cuda encoder -- otherwise the x264 encoder included in ffmpeg for example just has very little support for GPU assist. When it comes to FX, I wouldn't expect a converter to use GPU assist -- video editors can have some level of support, but you'd have to check their documentation and requirements, e.g. does that require OCL.

As far as speed of processing goes, VideoProc isn't bad, but individual results are going to depend on the source & output video formats, frame size, fps, output quality-related settings, CPU, RAM, hard drive speeds and number of hard drives [using separate drives for input & output can make things faster], along with what software processes are running at the same time.

Google and you can find info and advice on video encoders that focus on using Cuda [if that's what you're after], including info on speed, the quality levels to expect etc.

Nektar, The giveaway license is just for the current version, v3.4. It says "time-limited" on the license page but I think that just means the free licence is only available for a limited time, not that it will expire at any time after you get it. The lifetime license that is being sold at a discount includes updates to all future versions.

adid and Nektar, the license also removes the "trial" limitation of 30 days use and some other limitations to the size of files the software will process. It is basically a fully functional program without updates and support - and no, I'm not an employee - just a user :).

Since most media players do not natively support MKV files, converting it to MP4 format is my primary choice. I’ve experienced many online or free MKV to MP4 converter, most of them have limits in video size. The VideoProc giveaway license absolutely solve that issues. One of my large MKV video in 1280x720 resolution takes 7.0 GB in size, while when I use VideoProc to convert it to MP4, even though in the same resolution, I only need about 2GB or smaller space. This program is very stable in the converting progress, I am very happy with it.

V P SINGH,

"Audio replace / editing in the video is missing so do not find very useful"

That's normal for a video converter -- you need a video editor if you want to work with the audio at the same time. FWIW Vegas is one of the most capable in that respect. You can find a fairly complete listing of video editors, along with links & info, at videohelp[.]com .
