Every day we offer FREE licensed software you’d have to buy otherwise.
UnHackMe 13.80 (Lifetime) was available as a giveaway on June 22, 2022!
UnHackMe was initially created as anti-rootkit software, but currently it has more features: scanning for "unwanted programs", checking for junk files, created by PUPs, scanning of Windows startup, services, drivers, testing Windows shortcuts, scanning for rootkits, testing the host files and DNS settings, testing all used files on Virustotal. The program uses its own database to detect what is better to remove from your PC. The important advantage of UnHackMe is that you can find an unknown malware by inspecting UnHackMe information.
Windows XP/ Vista/ 7/ 8/ 8.1/10 (x32/x64); 256 MB RAM; 40 MB of free disk space; Compatible with all known antiviral software

Can this program be configured to only run on-demand. In other words I do not want it running all the time, even in the background. When it is installed, is the default setting to run on-demand or in the background.

Why not support Windows 11?

TOM TOM,
UnHackMe fully supports Windows 11.

The program would be useful, but after installation scanned and then the determination there is nothing malicious, then that is for me, throwing money away. Such as Norton, for example, time and again the same sentence, "please date your antivirus program up", (I have never had Norton). On the last message it was, "Ten suspicious things were found". How does Norton know? That is very transparent!

There is also a portable version:

But it cannot be activated with the Giveaway-key.

Maybe someone can explain, but, for software like this that requires updates to keep up with malware, what good is a lifetime license if updates are not allowed?

Giveawayoftheday, you cannot upgrade no NEW versions off the program, but you CAN update the virus database.

Giveawayoftheday, they basically want you to try before you buy it ($24.95) if you want the updates. A lot of people just download it and use it free until the next time this company makes it available again for free here on GOTD.
Bottom Line: You get to try it for a year with no updates and download it again the next time it comes up here or buy the license.

Giveawayoftheday, I think what it's best at is searching for stuff that's hooked itself into your system in a way that looks iffy, so I use it for that from time-to-time... I would use something else as a day-to-day AV program...

"... software like this that requires updates to keep up with malware, what good is a lifetime license if updates are not allowed?"
Updates would be nice, but then what incentive would anyone have to buy the software? That said, UnHackMe is NOT conventional anti-malware software. It doesn't rely on pattern matching the way an AV scan does, so there's no need to have an up to date list of the latest patterns to look for. It will however upload something it finds suspicious to VirusTotal, which uses multiple AV scanners.

If this license doesn't include updates, how good is a lifetime license? Without updates, it's worthless. I have used this program for many years and it seems to do a pretty good job but does have many false positives.

Dennis Comito, regarding false positives:
it found ONE "malware" on my W7 64 Pro test machine, a folder containing 7z.ddl
According to VirusTotal, it is distributed by Allods Team. SecureAge APEX thinks it is malicious, the 64 other testers do not.
It is a quite old file: Creation Time 2010-11-18 16:27:35 UTC

It was tested four hours ago by someone else.

I have downloaded this many times from Giveaway. Once gain thank you for this.
Only two comments before this one. Both are inquiring about the length of license. As far as I can tell this is life long. You do not get updates. The information is in the panel on the right of this page.
On to the Programme. Do not forget that in the options. there are some choices to be made.
How this programme monitors your windows machine.
How it monitors the network.
If you want to undertake a boot scan every time you switch on.
How the programme notifies you.ie gaming mode.
In the advance section I suggest you unclick updates as this version cannot be updated. Here is where you can change the privacy details too.

Looks great, but is it timelimited? And is it compatible with other Antivirus software for example Kaspersky? And last question: We all know that we have to update these kind of programs frequently because there are always more new viruses coming. So, are updates included? I hope the developer could answer. Thanks in advanced and have a great day everybody!
