I do not trust Any "Password Manager" unless it's the ones built into my Browser. Because, whose to say that someone in the company won't take a peek at Someone's Paypal Password and get access to their Credit Card or Bank Info. Even the way I store my Passwords is not completely Safe to someone who has knowledge in Hacking, or has Direct Access to a Computer. I would much rather have another Video Editor, or a very Powerful Image Editor for the next Giveawayoftheday.

These days more than half the comments seem to be "haven't received licence key", or "crashes when I try to install".

No real reviews any more from the likes of Ashraf.

I usually don't comment on software in here, but this one is far too special. We are talking about software that is supposed to help me with my password protection. So, I am looking at a very trustworthy company, am I?
Well I put in my mail adress and waited for response. Meanwhile I downloaded this piece of software. This did not happen unnoticed. Avira called it malware. Well, the marriage of password security and malware sounds a bit like a divorce. But, lets give it another chance. The downloaded software is sort of gone. Instead you get another piece of software, when you read your email. Then you can download it and install the specified software. This is new to me, so I am a bit hesitant putting in here all my passwords. Who can encourage me?

I tried to open the program and all I get is gotd saying it's been registered but no program to install. Am I missing something here?

Setup file just takes me to the GOTD page saying it's been activated but nothing has been installed! Tried two different downloads but nothing installs.

When I saw the word "Steganos" I thought, cool, an app that stores passwords securely in a picture of my choice, and maybe also can read text stored in pictures too. I think I'll pass, I prefer to store my passwords in a Rolodex.

so what is special about this program that differentiates it from all the rest of the free password managers out there. or is this just a knock-off of another program to make a few bucks? what makes it better than say Password Safe which is completely contained on one's computer and not shared with everyone in the cloud.

what are the terms of use? (ex. 6 months/updates) tried checking out homepage and goes to a PDF on Dropbox that it can't find? To purchase is it a one time for life or do I have to pay a subscription?
Kinda important to post this info for people interested.

Ron, you will get full version of Steganos Password Manager 17 forever... and you can use only the 17 version.. if the 18 version comes out you need to buy it.. same goes for bought version, If you bought Steganos 17 then when it upgrades to 18 you won't be able to free upgrade, you will be able to use only version you bought

Ron,
The terms say:
" Please note that the software you download and install during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:

No free technical support;
No free upgrades to future versions;
Strictly personal usage."

So it seems to be lifetime license with no free upgrades.

Vault Hunter 101, Steganos 18 was released in September 2016

Ron, It's strange that GOTD does not mention the "terms of use" as you put it, they normally do. It was very difficult finding any information about "Steganos" or any of their products; also strange. The only thing I know for sure is that "Steganos" is a "German" developer. I THINK, and I say I THINK, that the license has no term to it, based on my research, but I can't verify that. But, some developers/vendors will nickel and dime you every time they release a new version. The newest version of "Steganous Password Manager 18" was released in September 2016.

I will not install this for numerous reasons. I pretty much stick with KeePass, LastPass, and Sticky Password (which was offered here not too long ago).
