@23 SoftwareJunkie, Thanks for the great find. IObit Malware Fighter was listed as “IMF” in the msconfig under the startup tab. Thanks for the great find. After you advice it installed just fine.
Giovanni, thanks for the Funny Photo Maker link. It’s amazing all the pic angles that are presets for the templates.

#20 and #31 Re AdMuncher - I've been using the Google Chrome Browser EXTENSION Adblock Plus (Beta) 1.2 more than six months. Does the same thing as those programs but can be turned off or on with one click or selectively be disabled on sites where you can't see the page (nada) if you block the ads. Any other feedback on these three items? Thanks.

Agree with #2 and lots of comments in this side of the post.
Many freeware tools can do that and i don't this software would produce any magic. Not cool sorry thumbs down.

That was odd. Had trouble installing it. Went to the Softorbits web site and downloaded it from there and then it installed (and the registration key worked) Looks like no one else had a problem so it must be me. The sad part is after getting it to work and trying it out for awhile I found out it's just a very basic photo editor. No one click fix here.

#9 #26 ClearskinFX is pure rubbish.
#11 Not one of your 'cut and paste' jobs are MAKEUP software, just general enhancement software. Photo editing software do different jobs.
#25 SoftOrbits are selling 9 of their titles for $29.99 in their 70% off offer today. PHOTO RETOUCHER which was on Giveaway a few weeks ago is included. That one is a gem (unlike today's giveaway).
#7 Portrait Professional is really good (SoftOrbit take note) and is on offer for £15.95 ($25)

I agree with #14 Angela. This program wants to be what Perfect365 is. Perfect 365 is cheaper and just plain better. I don't see myself using this.

When Ad Muncher was given away on 11/23/11, there was a comment about a similar product that was free: http://www.adfender.com/. I have not tried it out, but it may be worth looking into.

I rarely, if ever have a need for this type software. But, being free I gave it a shot. Installed easily Win 7 Ult. x64. Registration was a breeze with the product key. So, kudos there. I loaded the program and played with it for a very short time before I was able to realize it completely lacks functionality.

Note to software vendors of this type software. Please do not release this type of software unless you have included the ability to preview the before and after at the same time.

Thanks anyway but, Revo Uninstaller here I come.

Why would one WANT to remove a person's natural features, anyway? Yeah, yeah, I know...vanity, or some crazed search-for-perfection stuff (as Giovanni often tries with his spelling :)

Is there really such a huge void requiring even more such "vanity software". Wow, kinda of a silly STRENGHT to base a Company's income on, imho. Images simply should reveal the truth of what is, and no mo' phonies, thank you. There's no Reset in Life, as might imagine from today's offering.

Hey, GOTD, dig up some Hull Design Software to offer!! In light of Global Warming, it might be handy to have a sailboat abuilding soon. :-)

After reading all your reviews here, I think everything needed to be addressed was mentioned. This software works OK but then nothing is perfect. I'm not picking on the price as it is for free to all today but if to have to buy it the price is quite steep. 10 quid would do easy.

cheers

I was excited when I read about this GAOTD ... I do semi-professional photo restoration and enhancement. However it dismally failed to live up to expectations. I tried it on the original of a photo that I had already restored using free photo editing software (primarily Image Forge). The result was a mess. I am a long time user of photo editing software but I could not get any desirable results with this software. I have already deleted it from my computer.
Thank you anyway for the opportunity to try this.

Combine all photo effects programs together, drop the price to $30 and make some money. Breaking it all up into little programs, inevitably leads to other little programs doing yours one better; make a worthwhile suite that is hard to duplicate, and then you have a competitive program. As a PS user I laugh at this tiny offer, sorry.

Improving skin appearing? This software is for those who are vain and shallow, and who cannot stomach the idea of photos of people with natural--and imperfect--skin.

@8 Jameston1, The reason you are getting the error, "Themida - A monitor program has been found running in your system." is because of yesterday's giveaway. You will have to either uninstall it or go to Run --> msconfig and then uncheck IObit Malware Fighter in the start-up tab and uncheck IObit in the Services tab, reboot and then it will install. That's my workaround but here is a source to back-up the fact that IObit Malware Fighter Pro is doing this:

I take exception to the claim that it fixes freckles as an imperfection. Freckles are beautiful! Otherwise the program does what so many others do. No need to download

Hi, The first immediately striking joke about SoftSkin Photo Makeup 1.0 has to be.. it's example of red-eye remover conducted on.. Ruby Eyed White Angora Rabbit!!:)) Hmm, you might think, perhaps they have an odd sense of humor?

But the joke doesn't stop there! When you download this Program you will soon realize that it offers a..Set of Brushes (no, nothing automatic, ALL manual) - and trying to charge for them $49.95!! You will be better off grabbing your purse and spending that money on real make-up brushes in real Store!, lol.

The serious Contender in make-up "department" to knock this nonsense off - has to be Perfect365 by ArcSoft, I think, not even bloated (by fame) fiddly Portrait Professional. With "365" templates you will really achieve what you desire automatically, and should you need small manual corrections - they are available (then - in a Portrait Professional's manner, if you like) too.

I think there is enough clues given today by Giovanni and Others to equip yourself with set of Tools - free, or for less than this Software would (normally) charge for, to achieve perfect virtual make-up and more!

Do you want to know why I tested this Software? One ridiculously simple thing - I thought it might automatically put discrete eyeliner on ladies' eyes (without full makeover), as one of ScreenShots on their Home Page "suggests".. You must be joking!

If I missed the whole concept of this Software (in haste perhaps?) - then tell me how!?. Uninstalling, not for me.

Just to add to comment, I always look forward to comments and freebies from Giovani. The absolute best source on the net. I am going to be doing a total reinstall and always copy all of his comments on various programs. I only hope several of my favorites which I will loose will be reviewed before I reinstall. For example Ad Muncher which I love but is very expensive.
Thanks again for taking the time to help all of us.

The only good thing i can say about this program (having worked with graphic programs for 15+ years) is GOTD install worked flawlessly as usual. The program itself, however, is a cruel joke you would only wish on an enemy. I can't imagine ever paying for this product.

At the end of the toolbar it has an option to add a dozen or so more toolbars via drop menu. No options to add buttons or anything to the toolbar itself. You may also hide the toolbar and Source Images, though I don't know why you would. The buttons are large and childlike. The concealer brush option doesn't attempt to match the color at all and when I attempted to it always came out white anyway.

Lipstick brush is a slightly transparent red and eye pencil slightly transparent black draw. Of the three photos I attempted to use, one disappeared from the folder and has not rematerialized, while another will have to be found and rescanned as it now says "Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x50 0x61". The Selection Marker only marks the screen in red, does NOT undo...ever. Clicking Original Image only shows you what your original image was but doesn't revert to it.

I did NOT save changes to my images, as they were HORRID. I did click the X to close and got no notification that my images were not saved but somehow it ate one of my photos anyway.

I can get a far higher quality program from Paint.Net, Gimp and even Microsoft Paint for free, and they don't eat my files. To charge someone $50 to finger paint their family photo is outrageous. I will absolutely be deleting this program now.

A similar program, Perfect365, was given away last year on GOTD and that is straight-forward, is very good at identifying faces, simple to use, and works really well.

That software is currently being sold at $29.99, so I do not see how today's giveaway could compete at its price point.

I haven't downloaded this program - SoftSkin Photo Makeup - as I am happy with what I already have, so I cannot do a fair comparison between the two pieces of software, but I cannot see that this program could do a better job regardless of the price.

PROS
Easy to install and register.
At first glance easy to use buttons and resizable screen. Drag and drop feature.
CONS
HELP menu totally useless. The selection marker tries but fails to imitate a MAGIC WAND. When you select an area, it disappears when you go to use any of the tools except the SPOT REMOVER, which only smoothes (or flattens) the skin making it unnatural.
Using other tools you need a real steady hand because it does not allow you to go over bits that you miss, or bits that you wander over by mistake. To do so using BLEACH effect, you end up making white parts even whiter and areas you wandered over lighter also. The same goes for the LIPSTICK effect. Using these effects there is no FEATHER feature making edges of effected areas sharp.
The IMAGE CORRECTION was minimal, with just just Brightness, Contrast and saturation sliders, although these showed immediate effect.
I didn't bother with the other effects as I was disappointed with what I tried. With a price tag of $49.95 I expected more.
In my opinion it is not even worth keeping as even the freebies are far superior. I'm sure Mr 'Google,Cut and Paste' will have a field day with this one.

Nice program. I also agree with whoever said it needs to be able to have a 1 pixel brush,as touchups often need to be very small. I would also like some tutorial videos. Even if it had those abilities, I myself would not pay anywhere near that price. To be very honest, I can do all it does using only MS Paint. Sorry, but it's true. Thanks for letting us give it a try. :)

Installed and registered w/o a glitch (Win7/64).

Loaded photo of my son, selected an area of the eye to bleach with the selection tool. Switched to the bleach tool. The selection disappeared and the bleach ran out on the surrounding skin. Not what I expect from a photo editing tool. Looks like unprofessional programming work. Uninstalling.

Except of this, I have downloaded a number of good and useful tools from GAOTD. Thanks guys for the good work. I very much appreciate your site.

Very unimpressed. It does a fair and easy job at what it does, but that's it. The popular freewares (Gimp, Irfanview, PhoXo) all do it better, and they do more. I saw no need to keep it as it brings nothing special to the table. And the $50 price tag is an absolute joke.

This software looks good and is fairly easy to figure out quickly, the only thing with it is, that if you have spent more than five minutes using Gimp (gimp.org) then you can already do all of the things that this software does, for free. This software isn't very intuitive, as the teeth whitener, lipstick, and most of the other options, require you to use a pen and go over the parts that you want to color. The whitener even makes you have to go over it several times if the teeth need more than a little whitening. If you are a novice, and want something that you can use to edit you photos, try it, you might like it. It is simple to figure out, and very straight forward. You may have a little bit of difficulty using the brush, but with a little practice that will get better. If you are anything more than a novice, keep using Gimp, Photoshop, or whatever it is that you are already using.

For the software, quite poor, can do all the same with many free apps (gimp, photoscape, etc.). Uninstalled.

Anyone using a virtual app such as Sandboxie will no longer be able to test the applications the program installs directly in windows. In a sandbox the message you get is : "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program." My question is what trash is beeing added to my operating system?

I call this bad business practice lucky for softwares that monitor installations.

As for SkyFrontier post in the forum : http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/12376

That's probably the same thing happening... and what's with the 100% system load? on XP home and pro

As for today's program it's a useful tool to have when you're not a graphic designer.
