Seed4me,
This VPN service is good enough but also DNS leak

licensed warez,

I did a test and everything looks fine for me.

Please, let me know:

1. What VPN IP do you get?
2. What website you use for dns leak test?
3. What browser you use?

Installation and registration was easy enough.

Made an initial connection and tested, which worked OK.

Then activated the killswitch and came across problems.

Firstly, when I disconnected from one source and trued to connect to another it would not connect and even after completely unloading the software from memory the killswitch remained active.

Then when I fired it up again, instead of being able try to make a connection all I see is the status that it is disconnecting.

Things get even worse when I rebooted, only to find that the kill switch is still activated.

I don't have the software set to auto start, so this should never be the case.

I had to load it up again and deselect the killswitch to get basic access to the net and network again.

So whatever the benefits of this VPN are, there are some basic fundamentals that require work as it was rather frustrating almost from the off.

I will leave you with this evaluation from a previous buyer:

"The first thing that appears when you open this app is a message telling you that the app will intercept all internet traffic, followed by a check box saying "I trust this app" with yes or no check boxes to choose from. If you check no, the app closes. You can't see ANY settings or more importantly read the privacy policy without "trusting" the app. I looked at the apps. permissions and saw that it had access to just about everything on and in my device (Kindle HDX).

I checked the developers webpage to see their info, credentials, and privacy policy and it's no surprise that there is no phone number for the company or an address. There is a generic "contact us" web form available, but that's it. Any company that has software that has access to every feature of your device should be reputable enough to at least give their phone number and a person to contact.

There terms, which are buried on their webpage are fairly generic, but include the following statement that concerned me:

"Seed4.Me reserves the right to install, manage and operate one or more software, monitoring or other solutions designed to assist us in identifying and/or tracking activities that we consider to be illegal or violations of these ToS's"

In other words, they have full permission to install spy software and use it as they please anytime they want without you knowing when or what they are monitoring. Now, I'm in full support of online security and support the feature fully but only IF there is a report of someone violating the terms or committing a crime. In my opinion, it's pretty sketchy for a software company with no address or phone number to require that you trust an app they tell you nothing about and require you to give them permission to install spyware software on your device and use it as they wish without just cause and without you realizing it.

Online security is a MUST in my opinion. I would never use an app that has full access to everything on my device, states that it can and will "monitor" my online activity, yet gives absolutely no information about the app developer.

Sounds like "trusting" this app may be an open invitation for data breaching and/or identity theft. It's ironic because vpn apps. are designed to help protect your online identity yet the company wants to use spyware on those that use the app and developed the app to have permissions of pretty much everything on your device - much more than is necessary for the app. to properly function.

I Uninstalled it immediately upon learning these facts and it was no surprise that the uninstaller left lots of junk on my Kindle that I had to remove manually.

It may or may not work as designed I don't know. In my opinion, using this app is no different than giving a total stranger that you have no information about and no way to contact complete access to everything on your computer and full permission to spy on you as they wish. No thank you."

Vpn creates a virtual encrypted tunnel between you and a remote server operated by a VPN service. All your internet traffic is routed through this tunnel, so your data is secure from hackers and prey.To understand the use of the VPN, consider yourself in the airport or a coffee shop you are using public WiFi network or hotpots. connect to free network without consider that its secure .but do we know its legit or anybody watching us hackers look for victims for there personnel information.bank account credit card Facebook soon etc.so you what excess a website which you cannot excess because of geographical location or moved to different country vpn helps to excess which any limits.among the enemy of free speech the ISP government military NSA watch what people doing on the computer.you don't want that privacy is everyone rights.you don't have this same level of choice when it comes to your ISP, which controls your home's gateway to the entirety of the internet. While there are alternatives to Google and Facebook, most Americans have limited home ISP alternatives.protect yourself with a VPN.VPN is a uniquely powerful tool that you should definitely have in your personal security toolkit, especially in today's connected world.

A "kill switch" is a necessary requirement for any reputable VPN service. My suggestion would be to add the ability to stop the network connection in the event that the VPN service stops for any reason.

We do not log or DPI traffic. VPN nodes only receive and forward traffic.

General connection logs are stored on a secure server for 7 days to solve network issues if there are any. These logs are deleted after seven days if there are no network problems.

My idea for you: If this is also for mobile devices then I would like to see a feature where it automatically connects to VPN when it senses that you are not connected to your home wifi. That would save having to keep turning the VPN on when you use wifi in a pub etc. I have not seen any other VPN's do this!

It would have been nice if they had a page explaining who they are and a little more about the company, aims, story, legal jurisdiction, etc, that is how I would improve the service, this is a privacy solution you don´t want to trust your privacy to a Chinese or an unknow company.

My MAJOR PROBLEM with any VPN: My Microsoft word stops syncing with the One Drive cloud when VPN is open. I need Internet and Word open all the time and when using VPN (recently Nord VPN) I can't use Word documents from the cloud (One Drive). My insightful idea for you - find a workaround about this issue to increase your customer base. In the USA they just voted that the Government may spy on your browser history without asking you and without a warrant. Find solutions about that and offer your soft here in the US.

Reply   |   Comment by Nas Ko  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Probably, change of your IP/location looks suspicious to Microsoft and they simply stops syncing, anyway we will try to evaluate this.

Alex, your help is appreciated; it's working now. For those who have been having similar issues (Alex's suggestion that worked for me):
Try to reinstall the "TAP-Windows Adapter V9" using official OpenVPN website:

1. Download this file and run it: https://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/releases/tap-windows-9.9.2_3.exe

2. Select the TAP Adapter, the SDK, and Utilities (Check/Tick all during the installation)

3. Go to "C:\Program Files\TAP-WINdows\bin" and run addtap.bat [Note that it is the Program Files folder, and NOT the Program Files (x86) folder]

Then re-launch the client, and try to connect again.

Hariharasuthan KS, Really??? 6 Months is a pretty good trial to find out whether you like it well enough to buy it. If you don't like it well enough to buy it then uninstall it and find a VPN that meets your needs. The only advice I give concerned VPN's is don't use a FREE VPN. FREE VPN's are like not having a VPN at all. I mean how do you think the developer of a FREE VPN is being paid? By selling your info; that's how!!!

Rick,
No - or seemingly that's the case on my installation (free, but from a different source!). But then I can't say I've stretched them to breaking point.
They do say (above) "Unlimited: devices, speed, bandwidth". Sadly there is no mention of 'data'.
There is a 'performance hit' when using their VPN (I guess that's probably true for every supplier, in truth).
I would add that they were very helpful, and quick in providing me with the information required to fill out the various fields in the Win 10 VPN setup page.

Peter, I guess I should've framed that question a little differently. Some of the VPNs' I've used had a cap of say, 10 gig and then either throttled you down or shut off service. I'm wondering if that's the case here
