My Windows 7 machine kept giving an error when attempting to install the GOTD download, so I simply used the link in the readme file to get the activation code, then downloaded the latest trial version directly from the reWASD website. To my surprise, it installed & activated just fine with the GOTD code and is now considered the PAID version. I have a disability and cannot use a regular game controller, so I am hoping this program opens up some options for me to play some PC games. Thanks!

Will not see my xbox one controller.Tells me to connect my gamepad when it is connected. What the fix for this one?
Save | Cancel
Mike, Please try to re plug controller or wireless adapter (if you were connected through it) and try again. Typically, such issue appears when controller is not connected properly (it is unreachable even through Windows Control Panel), or mapping driver was not installed.

Followed the link, filled in the email field and this opened a page to Paypal where it was asking for cash. Retried, each time the main page showed zero, but when I filled in my email, I was sent to Paypal and asked for cash. Gave up

Just finished installing and immediately uninstalling. Might support things like the Xbox controller, but it doesn't seem to support very many older controllers (at least none that I have). Like another reviewer said, it's the most stripped down version they offer and doesn't do much. And it's very invasive -- I uninstalled it with Revo Uninstaller (which defaults to the program's uninstaller when possible, which was the case here), and it left behind more registry entries than any of the 100+ programs that I've ever uninstalled before.

Steve B, sorry, that reWASD did not meet your needs, but the list of supported controllers is clear, obvious and available on the reWASD website. As for being "invasive", maybe it doesn't clear for you, but reWASD is much more complex application, than "home brew" software like XPadder or similar. Therefore, it makes a lot of changes in Windows Registry, also reWASD installs services and drivers, which are actually provide it's unique features.

reWASD team, what unique features that are in the giveaway license edition? As I used to use joystick 2 mouse and that worked translating all the buttons, and joysticks as I defined on a PS 3 controller plugged into a USB port for free... what more does one need except controlling the vibration motors in the controllers but since none of the programs I used it with knew or cared about that anyway. No services or drivers required, was in effect when program was run and completely off when program was not running... minimal registry changes with config files in xml files...

TK, in your case (using PS 3 controller) giveaway license enables you to not only simply map mouse and keyboard keys (unlike joystick2mouse) to buttons and analog axes, but also use trigger and stick zones, shift modes, interact with broad gamers community, import and export configs easily with intuitive GUI.
Also, with our driver PS3 gamepad provides low-latency operation due to direct integration into the native OS hardware layer.
Instead of being presented as "Microsoft PC joystick" like in other software.

Download and activation were easy. After reboot the program started up and declared that my PS2 controller is not supported. Then I found that I have to pay another $12 to unlock the features inside. Since it is not working for me any way, it doesn't matter, but I do think that developer could mention that full license will cost another $12 after free purchase.

Hello! Additional features are optional, the basic license allows you to map controller buttons to keyboard and mouse, set zones for triggers and sticks, use Shift mode and many more. When you click a link to get the license, you may see additional features in the cart and check only if needed. Yes, PS2 controller is not supported now, but we extend the list of supported devices with each release, so hope reWASD will be useful for you someday.

Dune, Just to make absolutely sure.
You downloaded and installed the software
You rebooted your system
You started the program
You opened the readme that comes with the download
You went to copied the url, went to the site, filled in your email and got the key
You entered that key and changed trial license to paid license
before download, you have read the requirements and noticed it is saying DualShock 3/4

Mavadelo, I did all you stated except that the requirements step. I didn't find where to read those and just tried the software out. Apparently PS2 is not supported for now, just as "reWASD team" noticed.

Dune, I was afraid that would be the case. Please note requirements can always be found on the right-hand side of the giveaway page, just above the iPhone giveaway widget in the light blue area as the first item followed by publisher homepage, file size, and price. I hope that will avoid problems for you next time. Remember, the license is yours and life now. Keep an eye on their site for updates to older controllers.

Don't know if I will ever need this, but getting it for a lifetime is absolutely what this site is supposed to be about. I will certainly file this one away, and check out their other offerings as well. Nice job GAOTD, finally, an actual program that is given to us, not some extended trial period, I can't stand those.
I don't even mind that I have to link this on FB, anyone that games, should have this software. Comes with future updates as well, so if your current game system is not included, maybe the updates will include it. Plus, if you upgrade your system/game pad, you are set for life with this. I will install this software, get the lifetime license saved in my email, then uninstall until I need it. Awesome offering.

Downloaded, Installed and Activated with no problems on my Win10x64 machine using Edge as the browser. This is one I'll be recommending for sure. It does what it says it will do and does it easily. What's not to like about that? We get so many programs/apps here that either don't do what they say or do it in a half a way and/or mess up your machine that finding a good one is hard.
Easy to use. I remapped a couple combinations just to see how it would work and its simplicity is amazing. Lets see, what else? Fast, easy to use and does what it says. Want more? Ok then, Free updates forever? Check. How about a (seemingly) active community with page after page of pre-sets for particular games. True, I haven't actually tried one yet but already saw at least two that I do want to try.
If you game any at all you'll want to try this. Its free and it works.

indianacarnie, Thanks a lot for giving a fair review. I have issues with my left hand, and I have to use an XBox Controller instead of the keyboard now. I can live with that :-)
Btw, you didn't mention, the program starts up telling there's an update to version 2.0.1. That's interesting - especially, when the program is rather cheap to buy. I'll have a peek at the advantages, if the update is worth it. As you state, the program does exactly, what it claims.

Allan F, update to version 2.0.1 is a tiny minor update, eliminating some issues and adding some tweaks. Here are bugs, that were fixed in this version:
- The list of mappings on D-Pad and Sticks is sorted different from the Community
- Features are locked after license activation till the UI restart
- Purchase link leads to the cart without Lifetime updates
- BSOD while using reWASD and having a particular unsupported controller connected
- "Remap is OFF" button when it is disabled has the misleading tool tip.

reWASD team, Thank you. I misunderstood that. Very generous, indeed :-)
