Tag your confidential files along with your team, on your hard-disk, on shared drives or in the Cloud. Confidential helps you and your team to be compliant to legal regulations, contractual obbligations and internal policies, by allowing you to tag files, with different levels of confidentiality, along with your team.

  • Tag or auto-tag confidential files, on your disk or on networks and visually spot them while browsing. Tag confidential emails: Outlook will warn you when sending something you shouldn’t!
  • Tag files with two clicks in Windows Explorer, along with your team, on your hard disk, or on shared drives. Your whole team will see what files are confidential (or not) in Windows Explorer at a glance.
  • Auto-tag files, based on their name and location: you can tag a whole drive with few rules within minutes and "watch" folders to tag each new file you put in them. Explorer integration: Confidential “listens” when you move files between folders: the tagging is preserved
  • Supports synchronization services like Dropbox, OneDrive, Box.com, Amazon Cloud Drive etc. Works with removable disks, encrypted disks, on any files system (NTFS, FAT32, EXT4 etc.)
  • Confidential’s Outlook plugin notifies you when you are sending a classified file outside your organization
  • Manage your projects, files, email and bookmarks, through tags, along with your team. Tag files of any kind, bookmarks and Office documents: Confidential integrates with Office and can write tags also into your Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents
  • Tag Outlook emails: with our Outlook plugin, you can find your emails quickly and intuitively by combining tags. Confidential’s user interface, to tag emails supports nested tags, text completion, several sorting modes for tags, and much more.
  • Centralized user and license management, import users from ActiveDirectory, create and manage user groups, for different departments or team and easily manage what you’re sharing and with whom.
  • Confidential is Azure and OneDrive ready. You can tag files and share your tagging using any cloud storage system.

Please note: the license is provided for 1 year

Thanks for the offer, however, who in his/her right mind would send tagged files in the cloud for storage or share. Furthermore, who decides of the level of confidentiality, is it the creator of the file or anyone can re-categorize the file down the road?
What happens to encrypted files, how are they accessed and why not create restricted use folder with multi level of passwords?
Most companies and private persons want such files to be in an encrypted vault and with password access logs with time stamped on the files, including the user name and what was changed.
I do not think many businesses will be interested in this format as presented today.

Just seems like another useless download to me. Confidential files should go in encrypted file not tagged. Thieves don't care if a file is tagged, it is just as easy to steal. If it is encrypted then they are going to have to do some work to decode the encrypted file if they even can. Plus the system resources it takes to run this program is going to be a drag on the OS and does that justify the ability to tag and the hours involved in going through all the files to tag?

KV, thanks for the feedback.
This is indeed more of a business oriented software, for workgroups having files on shared drives. The purpose of the app is not to save you from thieves, but to save you and your team from sending stuff you shouldn't be sending.
Anyway, you can use the tagging to organize stuff. The 4 default tags can't be renamed at the moment, but we'll allow it in the next weeks, so for example you' can have tags like "to do", "urgent", "important" etc.

What is the ongoing service the vendor provides apart from updates that warrants an ongoing subscription payment? The program apears to be using only end user provided resources and nothing ongoing provided by the vendor making me wonder how a subscription model is justified.

TK, I don't understand the question. We're updating the software constantly, in a few weeks we're releasing an API system, the possibility to add comments and adding a preview panel.
Perpetual licenses are available too, on requests.

Andrea D'Intino, ongoing software development justifies an update/upgrade license subscription but it does not justify functionally limiting subscription license where the end user does not use any vendor/developer resources like a vendor supplied cloud service.

Is Tag Forge IVS the same organisation as Yellow Blue Soft that produces tabbles? Why the rebranding and confusion of the Tabbles and Confidential product lines?

Error 0x80070666: Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed :/

Reply   |   Comment by alireza  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

alireza, you probably have Tabbles installed... Confidential is an upgrade of Tabbles, so you'll need to uninstall Tabbles first. Since the two softwares use different databases, the tags you have in Tabbles will still be there. You can also export your tags from Tabbles and re-import them into Confidential (File > Database > Export to xml).

Andrea D'Intino, how can you say that confidential product is an upgrade of Tabbles when the installer is considering the pre-installed Tabbles to be a newer version that Confidential product. The error implies that Tabbles is more recent version than Confidetial product!

Shouldn't they be entirely different products and be designed co-exist on the same machine OR properly identify the incompatability and describe it clearly when attempting to install the other product... and not confusing the issue by discussing versions when the new installing product is NOT already on the machine.

TK, there are technical reasons for this, which I'm no going to discuss here. My answer to alireza was simple, technically correct and solved his problem.
In my opinion this forum is the place where developers can help users to get the software running and to use it, and not the place to discuss commercial policies and licensing for a software you're not paying for. Those discussions confuse other users and waste time.
Now, since I'm the developer and you seem to be a troll, if you don't stop asking pointless questions I'll ask the admins to remove your comments and ban you.
Thanks.

Andrea D'Intino, how odd, I am not a "troll" and have been a regular contributer and visitor to GAOTD since its inception many years ago. Me asking difficult to answer questions is not trolling. If you do not wish to accept construcive criticisim please do not blame the messenger :-)

Andrea D'Intino,

TK is one of the most if not the most knowledgable and well respected reviewers and contributors to this site, and he is far from being a troll. Developers who use GOTD site to promote their products should be prepared for honest reviews of their offers and accept negative comments if they are warranted. Your very rude comment and calling him a troll makes me wonder who a real troll is.

From the developer to:

"is it impossible to append the file name with "confidential" and/or encrypt the files depending on how confidential they are?"

No it's not. But we're about to release an API system, so people can write their own plugins. We think that renaming files is a bad practice, but encryption is something we can look into :)
