Thanks to Pearl Mountain Software + GOTD.
Actually I find this software useful and good. It does what it says. Simple and easy.
There is no nastiness about it and no hidden surprises.
For those who do not know, there is a way to import the free templates downloaded from website into your installed program. I just did it and added Travel Templates.

This design software is well made. Very user friendly if you have a little graphic experience. Smooth installation on 64-bit Windows 7. Thanks.

I don't appreciate anybody using such tactics to try to force someone to use facebook and like them on facebook. People liking you on facebook is worthless if it isn't done by that person's own free will.

Any program that requires or demands a Facebook "like" before you can use it's fullest potential is an absolute joke in my book.

Sorry Giovanni you're right off the mark today and the others. Every version of this program i've ever seen is excellent.
@12 If you drop a picture from windows explorer onto Picture Collage Maker it won't embed thats why you click on its photo tab and using ITS OWN builtin EXPLORER window select your photo. Once you drag it to a frame the corners change colour and drop it then. The green square on the photo lets you adjust photo position in frame and the circle once you get the rotate sign lets you rotate by sliding the mouse left or right. Don't rotate the mouse as you might expect. Now try dropping a mask on it etc It works perfectly and way better than the Wondershare equivalent.
Double click on a text portion of a template with text to open a dialogue box for that. Import your own, clipart, photos etc Make your own templates.
@5 The comment about saving as jpeg meant not only can you save it as an editable project (with template and twinned folder of the photos, backgrounds, texture, masks used etc) but you can also save as a jpeg etc which is not editable any longer.
The complainers are wrong about the mechanics. You just need to take a little time with it. Grab it even if its not the pro version.

#12 Try placing foto under the frame using 'RIGHT CLICK' on mouse and selecting 'LAYER' to bring forward or move to back. You can also rotate and crop the foto.
#16 Are you serious about making collages in MS Word? Where are the layers, masks, background placing ability, frames and most important the ability to place fotos anywhere on the page at any angle.

@ #21:
Good point. The giveaway could have been offered sooner.
On the other hand, the Greek Orthodox Easter is just one week from today.

I can't agree with that statment. I found better doing a Google image search !

#5 In fact you can save as picture to different formats (JPG, TIF, BMP, GIF and PNG. Some programmes just let you save as an own format extension making your saved files useless to send to others without said software installed.

After installing on Windows 7® Ultimate 32, and playing around with this offering for about twenty minutes, I've come to the sad conclusion that it would not entertain a child of three for more than half-an-hour. It reminds me of nothing so much as one of those pointless bloat offerings that comes bundled with printer installation software. As Paul (#2) pointed out, there is nothing the least bit inspiring or imaginative about the program, nothing that can't be done by any number of freeware editors and it's frankly reminiscent of what was considered cutting edge twenty-five years ago.
I have already uninstalled it.

Just a thought: While it's nice to feature holiday-specific giveaways, wouldn't it make more sense to offer them a week or so before the actual holiday? I realize today's software isn't limited to Easter, but this is a common thing with GOTD. By the time the holiday rolls around, most people have already sent their cards, made their collages, etc. I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth, or even complaining. I'm just pointing out what seems obvious.
Happy Easter to GOTD and all!

What a waiste...any decent picture editor ie Ashampoo Photo Commander has built-in collage makers that are better than this version. Why would someone pay $39.95 for this basic toy at best.
A Big Thumbs Down on this one.

When a standard version is on GAOTD, you can usually expect the pro version to be substantially discounted. Not so here and it is not clear that one can upgrade to the pro version at a discount. Especially as Giovanni has pointed out that here are free alternatives (thanks Giovanni). In some cases the extended trial period offered by GAOTD is sufficient for core type programs to be sold at list price, but for occasional use programs and utilities, especially when free alternatives exist a price incentive should be included. IMHO $39 is just too much for the pro version. But for free we will give this program a try. After all, that is the core reason developers offer their software on GAOTD. To the developers: after we try your software and decide we like it, give us some incentive to buy into your product. And I suggest you offer the upgrade price to GAOTD users if they decide to buy, or a substantial discount if no pro is offered. Just my 2 cents worth...

Very expensive considering that you can easily make collages in MS Word, just by setting text wrapping for each image to "behind text" and then moving images wherever you want on a page.
If you haven't got Word though, today's GOTD is very useful though way too expensive! Before Word has this facility, there was a program available for about $7 so I consider nearly $30 as being well and truly totally over-priced!

Not had chance to give an exhaustive trial yet but I, also, have several collage makers (free and commercial products) installed but all of the others don't let you choose the arrangement of your photos. They are randomly arranged and you keep having to re-run the programs until you get an arrangement you can use.
Another good point with this product is that the add-on templates are free of charge, whereas with all my others you have to pay extra for each new theme. With this in mind I do not consider the price excessive.

This program is a good for little kids to play with but it falls short of what I like to find when I visit here each morning.
Still, I have a problem with the poster who said GAOTD is "going to the dogs." He is always welcome to start his own, similar website. Then he can show us all how easy it is to find excellent software to give away 365 days a year, year in and year out. I won't hold my breath waiting for it, though.

If you were lucky enough to grab Picture Collage Maker - 2012 New Year Giveaway, you can add and combine files to get more templates, backgrounds, masks, frames, and clip art.
Check you system directory for GdiPlus.dll, mfc90.dll, mfc90.dll, msvcp90.dll, and msvcr90.dll. Rename each of these files by removing the last l from the .dll extension.
Example: mfc90.dl
Now run the executable and test the program thoroughly. If it works fine you can delete those files saving over 4 MB of space.

A very primitive program, even for me (and I'm a homemaker "without an education") but for free it's fine.

Previous giveaway was the "PRO" version with around 150 templates, whereas this version has 100+ templates (above), or is it 130+ templates as per the site?, However, no use downgrading however many.

Poor giveaway once again (= Standard edition is useless)!!
What's going on here?? It's a pity to see this marvellous service going to the dogs.

"I like the fact you can save finished project as a JPG etc."
Are you kidding? A software without any ability to save is not a tool. It's a toy; a scratchpad at best.

Downloaded, made nice collage, looks great on screen, but the saved collage has the wrong photos. Don't bother downloading, does not work properly.

I have got a few collage making software on my PC, but they were freebies with limited amount of templates.
This one has a large amount of templates but most important, they can be adjusted to suit. You can also make your own templates and save them. This along with masks and backgrounds make unlimited layouts.
I like the fact you can save finished project as a JPG etc.
Software a bit pricey but I woud definately buy it if it was portable.

Not a bad editor I guess. Installation and activation went as normal. But this software is so unimaginative . I remember stuff exactly like this 20 years ago!
---> "In addition to all nifty features of Standard Edition"
I see nothing nifty or new or less than ho-hum here. For near on $30 I'd expect the ability to interface with other standard software: Photoshop, After Effects, Office, and so on. What about the "Pro" version?
---> "Pro version will enable to make multi-page projects. Besides it supports installing add-on template pack."
Now I am under-whelmed. Use Google to search for decent images and your favourite graphics editor (Paint ?) to put your ideas down and you have something that is your own. The point is to be creative and explore your own ideas.
Sorry, but to me this is unfathomable. As such I will uninstall right after I click "submit comment".
"Good night sweet Prince"
