"Video Editor" in "Photos" app - that comes with Windows can do slide-shows like this, or even do reasonable video editing/creation.
Seems gotd didn't like the last comment I mad along these lines. we'll see

If you have a recent version of Windows... Open the "Photos" app that comes with it.
The top menu has a "Video Editor" tab. You can use this to create not only slide-shows (which is really, all today's app does) but do reasonable video editing...joining, splitting, some basic transitions..etc. All for free.

I have entered the serial number 5 times, and it will not register. It keeps saying it is an invalid number! Yet it is the number in the readme file! I have checked and rechecked my typing! Ack!

Too many glitches and workarounds to get something as basic as a run of images into a video.

Try the free PhotofilmStrip It produces all kind of effects and can output up to 4K.

The output resolution is much too small making the input photos very grainy. The programme is not fit for purpose.
Or am I missing something?

This is a very poor quality application. Virtually no controls to to get what you are wanting (my mobile phone offers more with the basic preinstalled apps) and the final video is absolute crap.
I used high quality images (4608x2184 @72 dpi) and get low-quality granny images in the video with a max resolution of 720x576 - the image quality in the video literally look like the images were to small for the video although they are actually to big.
The author should be embarrassed offering this application even for free. Sorry, but this application isn't worth the 10mb drive space it requires! There are better available on mobile phones.
