I tried this photo stamp remover but then I found a better, free, alternative, that shows less smudges after the removal. It involves the free Gimp software along with some free Gimp plug-ins. https://goo.gl/FzTr0M

I wish that every GAOTD program could be installed and registered/activated as easily as this one did! Nice little program. I've used a previous edition. Thanks very much, GAOTD and SoftOrbits!

If I may offer two things:

1) Just wanted to say: "It Works"

I've only done a few short tests but the Activation and everything went smoothly (even though it a number of steps), all you really give is your E-Mail information...

The program itself seems great - easy to use, easy to understand (a Tutorial image or short clip of how to use the controls would help, but everything is pretty intuitive; there are only a couple of steps). It does what it says and it is very generous to offer it Today - thanks!

2) Suggestions:

Perhaps a "Removing Mode" option to 'choose' which area of the image could be utilized or potentially be utilized as the covering/replacement data. The program does a good job of figuring out how to eliminate/fix the chosen portion, but it might help for some images, to allow the User to designate "this part of the image, use this" to replace the section.

The only other Suggestion would be a Tutorial image/screenshot at the start, or a short clip/gif to play when it starts up for the first time (with an option to 'hide from now on' once shown); just to help new users to this type application.

Great job guys! Looking at your other programs... Thank you for the free offer today!

This is not what i was looking for, can someone recommend me a program that can remove people or other things from a photo besides photoshop?

Paulo Monteiro, maybe www.theinpaint.com ?

Reply   |   Comment by Tom  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Paulo Monteiro, if I may, this program actually does that (although the automated way will always be inferior to doing it manually).
Is the manual way what you were looking for?

If so, I can think of a few off the top of my head:

- Corel's PaintShop Pro
- Xara's Photo and Graphic Designer

Both of these have an 'auto heal' automated style like this program, but also have manual ways of doing it as well (if you want to do it yourself).

Some free editors are:

- Paint 3D (free within Windows 10, from Microsoft)
- Pixlr.com (free online/website interface, with storage)

These are two free editing applications that you can try to manually remove/clean up images yourself.

I get as far as clicking for the activation key and then nothing happens. It looks as though something's happening but then the hourglass vanishes and I have no key. Very annoying.

*Installed smoothly, a bit cumbersome process to obtain key but when it's free that shouldn't bother anyone. My gmail acc wasn't showing the email with the link to obtain the key at first so I had to expand the drop-down menu of "more labels" option and clicked "All Mail" and voila! There it was.

*As for the software, I think it's pretty darn good, I tried a composition where my daughter was in the foreground and my son was in the background performing a spectacular jump. I wanted to isolate him so I tried removing her, and I must say she was occupying a good 30% of the picture, after trying with the default setting, only adjusting radius of selector the program remove most of the "object", the only problem is that since it uses cloning technique, my son's upper body was replicated on the side where the other object was removed, so then I used the cloning technique myself to fill in with more precision and I actually got it done! It's not like other software can't do this, but the simplicity and easy of use is welcomed.

I've tried several browsers, different e-mail and many tries.
No luck. Every time I'm receiving the same message:
"Activate account - Please check your emails now
To activate your new account please click on the activation link which we have just sent to your email address."
No next page asking for name and country, no activation info by e-mail.

I have the program from the last release on this giveaway site and it does not "remove" the stamps but attempts to change the coloring where the stamp is to match the background color. Generally it is goo, but sometimes what replaces the stamp is smudgy.

Reply   |   Comment by Joe Polodny  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+27)

Joe Polodny, I agree with you, but I like the program anyway. I doubt I would pay full price for this program though. If you work with it it will fix some of the smudges it makes. I think it actually clears the first layer, but smudges the second layer, at least that is what it sometimes looks like to me.

ouialaraison, ...because sometimes it takes minutes, even hours, for comments to be moderated, and by the time his comment is visible to everybody, then lots of others have also commented with solutions that weren't visible when he commented?

That's why, sometimes, you'll see lots of comments made by people offering identical help to a common problem.

Why would you want to erase a watermark or any form of ID for that photograph? Anyway, watermarks are buried into the exif data of a photograph and can't be erased;unless the intention is to steal or use the image without permission. Wait 'till you see one of your pictures being used and attributed to someone else!
Don't use such programs.

Grandpappy, I guess you don't use knives for eating. Because knives can kill people...

Reply   |   Comment by M. H.  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-6)

M. H., to be fair with Grandpappy, the SoftOrbits people themselves mention removing watermarks as the first use of this software. People who sell cutlery don't usually advertise that their products are good at killing people. That being said, there are many more uses for such programs than removing watermarks.

Reply   |   Comment by ouialaraison  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

M. H., Yes I do use a knife for eating, but I buy it! By the same token I don't associate the people who make the chemicals ,that partly constitute explosives, that make up part of the shell that holds the bullet that is fired by the shooter, guilty by association of any committed crime or otherwise. Let's get real pal!

M. H., I used to come to this site every day and read and evaluate the feedback about the daily offerings. But worthless rude comments like yours are one of the main reasons I've left this site and rarely come back. You don't contribute. You just mock. You are a bully.

Johnnie Walker, I'm not a bully. I was just a little sarcastic. If that's too much for you, well, I can't and won't stop you from leaving.

Reply   |   Comment by M. H.  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Grandpappy,

If I may, this software is not just for those uses - you can "clean up" any image - it could be one of a house, removing some stains to have a nice picture to give family. It could be of a historic monument, to remove lights or other things that have been put on it, for posterity. Any people walking by can be removed from Travel Photos...

There are literally a thousand other uses than just "a watermark". This type of software is very useful in many other ways (I have used similar programs in the past for personal photos).

This version installs smoothly over the previous one (9.0) given away here last May. So far, I haven't found on SO site or in the program what justifies the " .1 "

And it seems safe, now, to install a new SoftOrbits program (or version) without deactivating others already installed: for several months now, my half-dozen SO giveaways stick, and, even after installing this one, all work properly (I checked). They endly solved that issue, apparently!

Reply   |   Comment by ouialaraison  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+16)

ouialaraison, that is good news that they dont deactivate other programs, so maybe I try to install and try out software from the company again? They have been blacklisted on my computer until now, despite they have good and interesting programs!

Jerry, the activation code is displayed on the web page once you have filled the form. No need to wait for an e-mail.

ouialaraison, I put in my e-mail address and it gave a message to check my e-mail. The key was not displayed. I just tried it again and this time it went to a second screen that asked for my name. Now it is showing the code. Apparently the process changed.

The first time i tried it didn't supply any form to fill out.The second time it did.A bit frustrating ,i hate that. But now i have it and am grateful.Btw it doesn't only remove watermarks etc. it removes things like telegraph poles/wires etc, as well.

Reply   |   Comment by ton  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Jerry, I had the same experience so I think their registration instructions are a bit "off." I enter my email as instructed and am told that I'll get an email with the code. Not true. I hit the browser "back" button (using Chrome) and click the link to send email again. This time it takes me to the next screen to enter first and last name. Did that and the code appeared. Weird!
