There is a short YouTube video that shows what the Help menu looks like when the Premium Version is displayed. For some the option does not show up at all. The video is at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z5tXqKdUus

A lot of people are asking where to insert the key and there have been several responses explaining that it is under the Help menu if in the Premium mode. Those giving help think that the ones asking simply have not found the menu yet ... but that isn't the case.

If you have had this program installed in the past, the program does not show the option to insert the key, so some of those not seeing the insert key option, this may be the reason. The company is ensuring that users that installed the same version previously cannot extend their license.

For those that have successfully registered the program, see if the menu item is still there now. Alternatively, try re-installing the software, and I think you will see that the menu item is not there. Can anyone else verify this?

Regardless, it is too bad that the Help | About dialog does not display the status of the current license. That means that you cannot depend on the software being available when you need it at some point in the future if you do not have accurate records of when you installed the software.

after i read all the comments, i decided to go ahead to dl at last hour.
with nothing is disabled on my system, i am able to dl & run the s/w.
i just handle it carefully as i go along.
during the installation, i was asked to select which version,
of course "Premium", + answering other requirements.
later the s/w is appeared with 2 pop-up big windows on top,
it said i am successfully installed the s/w, but no close-button on the pop-up windows.
luckily i am not a new user of M/S os, i manage to close the above pop-ups on pc Taskbar.
then i can proceed to enter the code in the way as stated in read me file.
otherwise i stuck there for nothing.

win 10x64 ver1803 os

I tried installing both versions 32 and 64 bit, with and with out the 21 day trial box check at installation. I did not find anywhere to input serial number, I kept seeing the lightning bolt icon on a menu to add/delete/customize the tool bars, but I never found a place to input serial #. I am using Win 10 v1803 build 17134.376. Any suggestions?

Given all the negative comments and problems, was going to pass
but am into graphic arts and photos so do like to look at these offering.

downloaded and installed with no issues.
Did pause system on running install, message "Waiting for exturnal program to exit"
maybe about 2 minutes. Installed to my selection of location

Entered key, following suggestions from others here.

Started right up in only couple seconds. Have 5 windows of internet MS Edge running, 6 word documents. Found no drain on system. Tried in novice. Seemed to allow a lot of selections. Wanted to test layers and adding captions. Did not see menu option for these. small \/ button extreme allows to switch to pro

Downloaded, installed and ran in a couple of minutes...10 year old custom built machine...few upgrades and repairs...only 4 gigs of ram...don't understand all the complaints with supposedly newer, better, faster machines.
Thanks GOTD.

The party is over. TANSTAAFL*
For eight+ exhilarating years I've been downloading free software from giveawayoftheday.com. I've mostly loved the variety and high quality of their offers. A number of times I've paid anywhere from $19.99-59.99 upgrade to a newer version or unlock "paid" or"pro" features.
Sadly, while I check the site daily, I'm rarely thrilled. I recall downloading/installing only one GAotD offering in the last eleven months.
I had NO idea there were so many mediocre file recovery applications, hard drive partitioning solutions, system backup tools, registry cleaners, or hard disk utilities designed to protect/fix/obliterate my system. The final blow is the sudden frequency of offers that really aren't free. Of those most expire in one year and a couple had only six months, After l leave this comment I will unsubscribe from all mailings, remove GAotD from my bookmarks, favorites, and shortcuts. I would threaten to stop referring my friends to GAotD, but I stopped doing that about a year ago. It's a no-brainer to reject software I'm really only borrowing for a period of time. Maybe the GAotD partners offering their rentalware believe I'll grow to rely so heavily on their rentware that I'll pony up a big chunk of change once it expires. Not a chance. Can't come to rely on what I will NEVER EVER try.
Farewell GAotDay community!

Mike,

If you receive this error, there is possibly a solution. Most likely you have your system default resolution to something other than 100%. Try changing it to 100% temporarily to see if it fixes the problem. If it does, it really confirms that the software needs some updates. Rather than fix the software to work with percentages other than 100%, they suggest changing your settings instead. Very sad.

Reply   |   Comment by Gary  –  5 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Gary, Yes I had the system default resolution set to 125% and yes I did as you suggested and changed it to 100%. The program started up as it should have but I'm 69 years old and 125% makes my computer so much easier to read on my 40 inch monitor so I guess I'll just have to do without this piece of software since they do not wish to upgrade their software. Thanks for your response.

I am some years older than the lady in comment #32 below -- though I should point out that I've been involved with software design/development since the 1960s. I found the download and installation to be straightforward.

However I find that the program always takes a very long time to load (more than 30 or 40 seconds, mine being a VERY fast system) and recommend to the developer that his be fixed somehow. Also, the program should not always start up on the primary monitor in full screen mode, it should restart with the same window size, position and monitor as last used.

When it came to registration, there was no " Help--> Premium version--> " option so no possibility to enter the registration key. I reinstalled and got the same result. I did notice that the installer has a pre-selected check box labelled "Get 21 days premium subscription" and I de-selected this during the re-installation, but that made no difference.

Even thoug the Help --> About shows that the Pro Premium version is active, now I'm quite unsure how long that will last. I will expect that the developer will honor any GOTD users who find (for example) that the Premium option expires after 21 days. In summary, the software looks nice but the registration is not so good.

I have been using the free Firestone photo editor in the past so I was interested in comparing it with Photo Pos Pro.

I liked the advanced features of this program but I did find it difficult to use so I'm pleased there are some tutorials. It is also slow to respond to any changes I make using the sliders and I do have a fast computer.

I tried the common crop feature and set it to 3:2 ration that 6 x 4 photos use but the problem is it still allowed me to move the sides of the crop window changing the crop photo ratio.
I tried to warm the photo by adjusting the warming slider but this seemed to make the photo cooler.
Some of the sliders don't allow enough movement making small adjustments difficult.
Maybe after I've watched some tutorials I'll like this program better.

Looks a nice program. registered quickly (need to be in pro mode I think), didnt find it too much of a resource hog (4 core windows 10 64 bit). Has all the expected features in a photo manipulation program and appeared stable. happy to keep it though no real advantage over GIMP or paint.net for the average user.

I have had this software on various computers over the years, but not currently. Thought it was interesting enough to keep, but it was never my "go to" graphics software. Expected it to install and open slowly, based upon user's comments today. I was surprised at how rapidly it installed and opened on this computer (Win7 64 bit loads of RAM), compared to other software I've installed. It did seem to take longer to open a png file than expected, compared to similar software. I was impressed by how it handled white balance and color enhancement. Based upon a short trial today, I will definitely keep this to use, probably occasionally, but even in the Pro mode, this doesn't offer enough advanced features for me to pay for a subscription - pay once? Maybe.

Hello guys, the positive: Nice features, professional results and not difficult to work with. The negative: Heavy on resources (hence the lengthy starting of the program), convoluted UI on Pro, updates are too far in between (years sometimes) and of course, it is a RENTALWARE...! You do the math. I wouldn't bother.

Morgan Pierce,

See if your default resolution is set to something other than 100%. It seems that if the setting is not 100% you can get this error. Let us know if that fixed it. I found this out from research on the web. it looks like the same error. It is worth a try to verify even if you prefer to set your resolution back to your personal preference.

Installed easily, I just followed the directions in the ReadMe.txt file. It DOES take a while to open, and will definitely take some work to fully understand it. I tried brushing out some parts of a picture to remove them, and played with a text block (added shadow, glow, radial blur, and changed fonts, size, colors. Everything's there, you may have to hunt for things if you're familiar with other programs. This has potential to become my most used photo editor, passing up Paint.NET. Well worth trying out!

Mr.Dave (as in, "an update from"): many of the "free" programs and graphics add-ons (like frames) have links to CNET/Download.com but the downloads are no longer available. Download.com was a bad place to get programs for many years, does anyone know if they have stopped embedding toolbars and other malware in their download files?

Also, this paragraph is in their license agreement, please be careful:
"g. Backing up Files: This software and all Image Enhancing software in general perform, on many occasions, changes on picture files in such a way that in many cases it is not possible to retrieve the original picture after saving it in the software.
In any case where you wish to edit pictures and files (especially important pictures and files) in the software, you must back them up before the editing operations and save them in such a way that will enable you to reconstruct them, whenever the need arises."

Before I did ANYTHING to a photo I loaded, I used Save As... in the File menu to create a backup for editing. I made a lot of changes and never saved the results. The backup file was not changed. Still, this is an odd paragraph to include in a license agreement.

Judy, readme file: Go to Help--> Premium version--> Input the activation key below into the 'Registration key' field.

Alexa, I do not see any "Premium version" selection in the drop down help menu.

Rick, get the registration number from the readme in the download. Then open the program after you install it. On the upper right hand there is a icon that looks like a fat thunder strike. Click on it and that is where you put the registration number. Took me awhile to find it

Hi Judy, I have the same issue. I think it's related to checking the check box for a free 21 day trial as that's what my installation had?

I tried uninstalling (Revo Uninstaller) and then reinstalled and this time unticking the checkbox for a free 21 day trial. But I still couldn't see the Premium version under the Help menu. So I suspect we have to wait for the trial to be over then enter in the key.

mariellen, I appreciate that you are trying to help but I do not see any icons that look like that in the upper right corner. Are you perhaps speaking of the help menu? I hope I can get this done before the time is up.

Alexa, the help menu not showing nowhere the "registration" or "premium version" field. I watched the you tube video too, I can see there but on the software that fields is missing.

Judy, I don't know where this problem was coming from but I know that I was not the only one that did not see the "Premium" option in the help menu. It was frustrating as I really would have liked to have installed this software but it is too late now.

I actually use this program (free version) on a day to day basis so it's a nice surprise to see it here its decent software but it limits a lot of things like resolution. I'm pretty happy to see it here tho and glad I checked this morning :)

"go to Help--> Premium version--> Input the activation key below into the 'Registration key' field." Help does not bring up a Premium Version option to input activation key. Have tried all suggestions below. Too bad, I would have like to try this.

Installation:
This program is heavy on resources - so it looks like it's hanging - but wait - it eventually completes.
It also took a long time to open the first time - same thing - it was using up all available resources - did eventually open. Was quicker the next time.
The readme file has everything you need.

Software:
This is very extensive software. It has lots of features - they're not exagerating their claims. If you take all these "little" programs we're constantly being offered here that can only do one thing with a photo - then you have to get the next "little" program to do the next. Well this one does everything (and at a reasonable price.)

Although I could play around with it, I would need some tutorials / instructions because there's so much. Fortunately, that's available on their website. As some free templates that I played around with and it will allow you to make greeting cards. I liked that you could add sparkles in just a click or two - and little effects like that.

Effectively I can uninstall at least 8 other photo-manipulation software from other companies that I got here - and replace them with just this one.

I only spent a few minutes playing with it, but I liked it and I look forward to spending more time learning this software.

Free version:
They have a limited free version on their site - but they're offering the pro version here for a year license. There is also a comparison chart - the free version has very few features.

I don't normally comment on offerings, as they sometimes get neg feedback. On this occasion, i shall offer my take on install and use as there were a few issues. I opted for the email link rather than Facebook, received it promptly and worked fine. The install offered via a 'check box' a free 21 day premium trial, I cleared this as my logic thought that the code issued, needed to be applied today during the giveaway period. Part way into the install it halted, 'waiting for external program to close', using 'alt-tab' I cleared down the other programs, it was only when I cleared Outlook 2016 that the install resumed, go figure !!! Ran the program using the 'Pro' interface, under 'Help' selected 'Premium', a window opened allowing the code to be entered, and again offering a free 21 days which I ignored. The program through the 'Pro' interface, seems to offer a large range of adjustments for serious photographers, along with several manipulations for artistic creativity. The 'Novice' interface is much less cluttered, offering preset effects rather than sliders. On the whole, this is a good effort I shall keep this one, it sits somewhere between 'Zoner Photo Studio 18' which I normally use, whilst offering some of the creative elements of some other image manipulators, offered previously by G.A.O.T.D. I won't have time today, to test any deeper than this, I only hope that part of my submission is of help to others. For ref: my system, 64 bit Win 10.

Seems the 64bit version is struggling my i5-6600 and 8GB ram even on simple tasks.
It has lot of tools but I don't know if I'll keep it .

afik, I have the same exact hardware (skylake i5 6600 (non k) and 8gb's of ram) I have experience with this software and it really isn't bad. I use it frequently (even before it was given here for free) and a few things can cause a slight delay like magic eraser to a transparent background but it's no worse than anything else in this category. It's not "professional" grade software but it is borderline and anything which can be done in Adobe can be done here as well.

The biggest problem is probably the hardware I have essentially the same system along with a nvidia 980ti but my work station (8700k) has no problem with this at all realistically it is mid range hardware from 3 years ago it's not a stretch to see a quad core have some difficulty with editing software.

If you're having trouble registering the software, did you read this in the Readme file?

Installation

Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software by running Setup.exe,

then go to Help--> Premium version--> Input the activation key below into the 'Registration key' field.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Registration key:

17226-8181-9490-3580-4198

It went through very straight forward for me.

Downloaded and installed perfectly, including registration.

Runs like a charm and has a multitude of effects that I will only be able to work out over time.

Only thing I can't figure out is how to get the available free extension packs to show up in the program.

Oh, and also, it says that it's always free, but the version we have available is a Pro version, so don't know what the free biz is all about.

Hi, to those having problem Registering, Yes, using Reg Key alone might not work smoothly, as there is no obvious place to insert it. However!.. When Software runs Installation there is one option box I kept ticked in (normally I skip it if poss), and that was 'Subscription' of a kind (if I remember correctly), and later on I also chose Advanced (not Novice) layout. Perhaps that helped, don't know.
I was then presented with Screen that shows Free and Premium Version and on the right of it there is - 'Premium Version Activation' feature with pre-filled Registration ID, and underneath a line to place Reg Number from readme file. After it was accepted little screen opened: 'Your Premium subscription is set on. Thank you'. That's how I did it anyway and it worked!

Program freezes at starting: http://it.tinypic.com/r/25qawy9/9
Fortunately I installed it in Shadow Mode, so I restarted the computer. I tried both 32 bit and 64 bit setting, but same results. A disaster!
