Downloaded and installed this just fine and it works brilliantly! I have been using ZoneAlarm (free) for years and been very happy with it and can't believe people still use Norton (dear god what they did to the @guard firewall when they acquired it was a disgrace!). This is a fantastic giveaway, and I would like to thank GAOTD for making it possible and OA for allowing them to do so, for the first time in my life I might actually consider paying to renew the license at the end of the year, this is one piece of software that is most definitely worth having! Well done to all concerned!

After seeing so many recommendation to this software I decided to give it a try. However a lot of things began to cease working or work klumsily after the instalation. In the end what made me uninstall it was that my GOM player ceased to play the audio allegedly for not having the right codec - which wasn´t true: it was working before and then after the uninstall. It didn´t work even after closing the Armor - just the uninstall made it work OK again.
Tough luck, for a lot of people seem satisfied with this software. Let´s back to my old firewall...

I got the license key too late for me to install the product. Is it possible to install the product by those persons, who have downloaded the product but received the key too late? Had it been like other products offered on GAOTD, I could have installed the same within the time slot allotted.

Late to the Comments party, yes, but I wanted to thank the TallEmu representatives for their patient, courteous, and informative replies all day long. I read everything, then downloaded Online Armor, registered at your site easily, received my key promptly. I will wait to activate until I've disabled a few other programs that might interfere; it is excellent that this is allowed! Online Armor is obviously a quality program, with dedicated staff and support forum. Thank-you.

Hi Guys

I think we have responded now to everyone who has requested a key resend. If you think we've missed you out - please contact us again. We got absolutely swamped. Eventually we handed out nearly 12,000 keys in a single day which was crazy!

To those folks that just emailed us "Giveaway" thru the contact form - we'll be processing those as soon as we can - but we have to prioritise those that followed the instructions and didnt receive the key through no fault of their own.

If you didnt get to install by the deadline, you can download from our site and the key will still work. Nobody should miss out :)

This software takes to much control from the user..Yes you can change the method of madness-but it still makes changes..Over a period of time
the "learning mode" will still make changes to your machine rendering some programs and computer functions unresponsive.

Unless you have no computer maintenance abilities there are better firewalls to use..completely free

I have 18 years experience with computers, point I believe I know what I am doing. Online Armor messed up both my computers. When I put it on my new laptop the screen went blank. After 20 minutes, I had to reinstall Windows Vista, then took 2 hours to put software back on. When I put Online Armor on my desktop with Windows XP all worked well until my 2nd boot up. Then I no longer could get on internet without closing down OA firewall. I have spent the last 5 hours trying to recover my computer before OA. Most is back, but I have permanently lost one of my favorite softwares. The only solution would be to reinstall Windows XP. That would take about 2 hours, but then another 2 days 8-10 hours to reinstall all my software. Point: BEWARE

Hi, great give-a-away. I followed the instructions, got my License Key emailed through to me. Only problem is when I came to install it, it told me the offer had expired!. I did read in the comments that this could be installed anytime??? Is there something I must do to get around this?

Thanks

Is it too late to comment? I've run into a bit of a problem. I installed it fine, but now I can't access the internet. I can't connect to my ISP. Don't know what's happened. Had a look through the settings, and can't see anything that's stopping me. I've been using the free version on my laptop for months with no problems, but my desktop is now knackered. Anyone any ideas? Anyone still reading this?

Read the comments before posting. #314, Mike Nash (Tall Emu Guy), told you exactly how to obtain your key immediately without using email. I already had my key, but I checked the link and it worked fine (BTW, since I have a previous giveaway, Sticky Password, I didn't need to remember passwords or do anything, Sticky Password filled out the fields automatically). Also, as Tall Emu posted, if you would bother to read, you can download directly from their site if you requested your key but couldn't run Setup because of problems accessing the GOTD servers for activation. While I'm unlikely to ever use Online Armor, it's a good product, and many GOTD users have terrible security software, so this was a great giveaway.

Hi Folks,

Kudos to Tallemu. Well done, I went for the $10 two-year and will install later. For the couple of folks who felt something was amiss, simply save your info and contact Tallemu later.

You should be able to tell when a small company is doing everything possible for customer service. A busy server or a concern that something says 364 days instead of two-years or difficulty getting one particular response -- it should all be easily rectified in a day or two. Clearly you are not dealing with a bureaucratic quagmire, simply a few dedicated folks trying to do a good job with a smile. Let's appreciate their efforts.

Shalom,
Steven

Got the key with no problems, installed the program, removed Zone Alarm to preclude dueling firewalls. After the initial setup, a restart was required, per Online Armor.

Immediately got the BSOD because a driver was causing problems - Logitech's lvprcmon.sys. I disabled it, restarted the PC, and have had no more problems.

Thanks GAOTD, and Tall Emu - I'm sure Mike's happy the day is over with - you were a busy man!

I hope the Tall Emu guys are still monitoring comments even though the give away has ended. I just wanted to let everyone know what a WONDERFUL experience I had with this software last night.

When I got home from work, about 7pm EST, I purchased the 2 year membership and got my key instantly...it was in my inbox by the opened it. Installed and ran without a hitch on an XPpro machine.
It was easy to use and didn't interfere with my normal activities on the computer.

I am probably not as technically savvy as some people here, so what really sold me on the 2 year subscription was Tall Emu's availability all day to the comment leavers and their polite and helpful responses to requests for help. You can't go wrong with fantastic customer service like that.

Thanks, GAOTD, for a great give away and discount!!!

@Toops - we still have a few messages to respond to. A lot of people use spam blockers - which makes it hard as we have to manually respond to challenge/response stuff. It has been a very busy 24h.

You can also manually retrive your key by visiting the user area, here: http://www.tallemu.com/user_area.php

My goodness, I cannot recall any giveaway having this many issues and problems.

Some of the questions were ludicrous. People NEED to pay attention and learn a bit about computers. The same questions asked over and over were also ridiculous. How hard is it to read through the previous posts and find that you are only supposed to have one licence, you cannot use two firewalls, and so on and on.

If you aren't going to pay attention then you should skip getting the software as obviously you do not know what you are doing.

I had no problem getting the key by following the instructions properly. Also, if some of you would setup your browsers properly, that would also be a great help.

#307, Carolina de Witte, find a competent computer-savvy teen, and pay him/her, much cheaper and quicker than a shop for software issues (and probably much more competent service). As for your fibromyalgia, there are a number of medications and treatments (may depend upon what country you live in).

I did get the software downloaded as well as my license, but after reading some of these comments I am now afraid to install it. It sounds as though it has caused conflicts with some people's computers, and they can't even reboot. I just don't have the money to spend on having my computer fixed right now. I used to be able to do it all myself, but since I have fibromyalgia now, my brain fog often prevents clear thinking, and I'm no longer confident enough in my abilities to fix problems that may occur by myself...(I'm afraid I'll just end up making things worse.) This is very sad, of course, since I've been using computers for many years now, and used to fix all problems my family experienced on their computers. Now, if I haven't got a problem that can be fixed using 'system restore', I take it into the shop for someone else to fix. I will continue to read the comments here, and hope that maybe later I can install the proggie if I learn exactly what is causing the conflicts others have mentioned. For now, though, I will simply have to say I do appreciate the opportunity you gave us to download this for free. (Of course I will use the forum at the software site to do further reading as well.)

Hi Guys

Our server is still under heavy load. We've sent out well over 10,000 licence keys so far - and we've received something in the region of 200 requests for key resends, most of which have been processed - but we're still working through them all.

Just please note - if you are having problems, or have questions you should visit http://support.tallemu.com/

If you have some problem getting your key , please use the contact form here: http://www.tallemu.com/contact_us.html

Send us a message - messages received before the deadline will receive the free key.

make sure that support@tallemu.com is in your email whitelist.

You can also manually retrive your key by visiting the user area, here:

http://www.tallemu.com/user_area.php

The product you are getting from GAOTD is the same as the product on our website. If you are having issues with it, you can download it from our download page - but not all at once please :)

Wow - I registered and got my key by email in about 5 minutes - I guess there's some advantage to arriving a bit late to the party. All the instructions are understood and the kinks are worked out. thanks to GOTD and Tall Emu Guy for this product.

I currently use Sunbelt Personal firewall and Vipre anti-virus (both by the same company), and they play nice together. I'm a bit nervous about changing the firewall - not sure if it's that much better than what I have now. Anybody have any comments??

First of all I want to say that Online Armor installed easily, I got the registration key earlier and it was there in minutes. I installed it on Windows XP home (with some modifications) sp3. Works well, alot of people complained about boot time after installation and the time it took to train the firewall...I guess Ishold say thanks because I expected it to take along time for the processing, but that too took very little time. I was using Comodo and uninstalled it to try this program out, but I am curious, I have had no problem so far, but I also have a comodo Memory firewall and kept that running. Will that cause any issues with Online Armor? The memory firewall has had no issue with Comodo (of course), or zone alarm.
Thanks for the giveaway all. And thank you GAOTD for all the great stuff you put out. Keep up the great work.

Great deal from a respected company. This is a great sign of GAOTD's improvement:)

This is a very highly rated product, and a company that kindly offers a free version of their software and I am very happy to see them here on GAOTD.

It is very nice when a company not only puts there product up for us free, but also offers a discount for those wishing a full, purchased license.

There does not seem to be any activity going as the pc is quite and the hard drive flashing light is still. Is this normal and how long I need to wait?

I've used OA Free for about 1 year now. Great firewall but I have one problem every once in awhile: When Firefox 2.0 is closing (on WinXP Pro SP2), I'll sometimes get a BSOD with OAMon.sys being the culprit that caused the crash. I'm hoping OA ver3 fixes that issue.

@ Tonja - are you using yahoo per chance? I had the same issue. I opened OA, and went into the Web Sites tab. I had to make mail.yimg.com trusted, and I also added mail.yahoo.com as trusted, and I can see emails again!

My only problem has been that I can't get it to run properly with KAV 2009. I have added the KAV folder as an exclusion, and added OA to KAV as trusted. But if they are both running, my computer either freezes on the welcome screen, or at the desktop. I am running Vista 32 btw. I used to use OA and LOVED it, but since I had paid for KAV... But I got so excited over this offer, I set KAV not to start up, for the moment. Anyone else have the same issue, or recommend a really good anti-virus comparable to KAV?

Didn't work with Vista Home Prem (though I see it worked for others)... Maybe because McAfee was also running??? It installed fine, did "learning mode" fine, but after about one minute it would go to the blue screen of death. Tried restarting and right-clicking the OA tray icon and choosing "exit." Seemed to exit, but was still running in the background. Actually had to start Vista in safe mode in order to uninstall it. Major pain. -steve
